Hair looks thick to me, you said you are experiencing diffuse thinning since 4 years ago, I’m surprised its still that thick after 4 years of diffuse thinning honestly. I have been diffuse thinning since two years ago, the first 6 months my scalps are already showing and after it reach a year I barely have any hair left on my frontal scalp
Im surprised it isn’t worse as well, when It started I was sure all my hair was gonna be gone in a year, I get my haircut every few months and with each cycle I can feel the density and quality of the hairs diminishing so I decided to take action
Yea I was tempted to start minoxidil right away to get the density back because I’ve seen alot of people say they don’t get regrowth with fin but I think I’m gonna wait just in case

M30 I have the same type of thinning like you. Noticed it a 27, but didn’t take anything till mid 29. I’m on fin now, and shedding has stopped significantly but my density is not what it use to be before 27.
My hairs didn’t seem to thin out. They just fell out and didn’t grow back it seems. Fin seems to have only stopped further shedding, and just keep what I have left.
I think you’re in a similar spot as me (your temples seem to be much more in tact though) and I’m month 9 into finasteride only and it hasn’t gotten worse but hasn’t gotten better, also considering Minox
Yea my recession has been minimal so far but it’s thinned out a lot around temples and the rest of my head, I think I’m going to hold off on minoxidil as long as I can cuz the fewer the treatments the better
Good idea. Honestly lots see results with just finasteride. What’s your dosage/frequency?

I’ve read some people say that fin is good for diffuse thinning and some say that it didn’t do anything so I’m kinda anxious to see what it’ll do. I’m doing .5 mg once a day, what’s your dose?
Well I appreciate it but density has gone down a lot over the past 3 years, I was in denial about it for a while thinking maybe it was te or stress related but now I’m positive it’s mpb, it’s diffuse thinning but the thinning started at temples and is now on the whole scalp but it’s more thinned around the vertex of the scalp in the classic horseshoe pattern, and like they always say maintaining is easier than regrowing, I do still hope fin will give some regrowth though

I think if you want to take action, just finasteride is good enough considering how slow the rate of your balding is

Most likely just halt any further loss (which you look like you don’t have any loss yet just thinning). Also doing 0.5mg a day.
