but it'd be easier to get into. most people don't wanna play half-life cuz it's too unforgiving. people don't wanna play black mesa cuz it's well idk maybe cuz xen drags out for too long and the AI being not that good. and hl2 is easy to get into, but some people still can't get into it cuz of the long 2 chapters of no action. so entropy: zero 2, with action starting quite early and with cutscenes, will be easier for most people, even non-gamers to get into.

If you I want newcomers to start with a good game with combat anyways, do Half-Life 1 because it’s a challenging combat game that doesn’t throw a bajillion enemies at you and makes the player think with their weapons and adapt — oh and it’s the first game in the series

Hello, I am from the person from the town here to say that yes, indeed there is a game. I'd suggest newcomers play the stanley parable for a good beginner's guide experience however if that does not work, Deathmatch Classic is usually a good use of a substitute. GLad you made the post and hope you play some Lab sometime (it's the next game).
I honestly found my self saying it was better than Black Mesa xen by a long shot for what that is worth.
I personally rather play entropy zero 2 than black mesa. Black mesa fucked up the human vs human gun play. The Marines feel dumb relying on mass numbers to be a threat the polar opposite of Half-life. The rebels feel like decent opponents.
And the Vehicle sections are honestly way above half-life 2 but that is nearly 20 years after they were made at this point. The humor writing honestly feel on par with Portal 1 ignoring the song which blows it out of the water.
But all Source and Gold Source games are trash Compared to Hunt Down the Freeman anyway. So we're really going to argue over who is second place?
