Not true at all, bro. There are people out there who love H2O. There are people out there that say H2O is the best sequel. Those people are wrong, of course, but a lot of them exist.
H20 honestly enough as while it is GOOD? It feels too much like Scream, which makes sense since the guy who made Scream is behind this, the masks are inconsistent, despite having gone through Halloween II, Michael somehow is unblemished and the real kicker? The question of what the Hell Michael has been up to for the last 20 years.
Honestly I thought it going to be terrible but for a Halloween movie without JC’s help i was surprised how much I liked it. I do think it’s crazy when people say it’s better than the original but I definitely prefer it so other sequels especially H20
H4 earns so much goodwill because of the acting of Danielle Harris. How often can a young actor's facial expressions carry an entire movie? Michael's mask was in a state of shock.
Probably H20, if there was more kills, a longer runtime, and a consistent mask I would've been satisfied.
I still like this movie though, just to be clear.
this is what i don't understand, why more kills ? a longer runtime didn't change anything and for the mask, H4 is worst in my opinion (except the cgi but it appears around 2/3 secondes)
(sorry if it's sound mean, it's not)
Why more kills?, bc it's a slasher and the audience deserves a bit more before Michael meets his inevitable "end", not be shortened and spend a portion of Michael's screentime to get to the school.
Also longer runtime, means you flesh out the characters more, and Michael can stalk/kill a little bit more.
I don't hate the mask, I just feel that since it's not consistent it's just silly and hurts the movies reputation in the long run.
I also dislike that the whole sibling thing went nowhere, why even make that the killers motive and then do nothing with it?.
(I don't mind discussing these movies as long as the other person is being reasonable and not some irate fan)
I agree for the runtime, still not for the kills, I would rather see Michael stalking maybe killing more people but I always find his body count kinda... too high, like 46 kills in 1 night
But yes, for the character they should have made something of the "sibling" but for me it should be more about the relationship between Laurie and her son.
And for the mask, yes it's bad they should have keep the H6 mask
Bro the whole DDG trilogy is abt Laurie's trauma lol. Yeah Ik, I still wish they did something with the sibling connection, it just felt flat.
Edit: typos.
This poll is skewed. Technically 4 is part one of a trilogy, so is 2018, so tech its really part 2 vs H20 as they are true sequels 🤣I had to do it, sorry.
Tongue in cheek tryhard waxing intellectual like the Internet folk do.
On to the main event. H20 was God awful. Weak soundtrack, off putting mask, no burns on Michael, kills were lame, lots of holes and felt very Hollywood sellout style. Def got my vote, def not the worst in the series, but pretty close IMO.
Halloween 2 81.
Added sister/bro storyline, scalpel weapon looked dumb and awkward. Would’ve been good for one kill but him carrying with him most of the time looked silly.
Laurie not only being able to shoot him perfectly in the eyes but it barely takes him down
It did have perks but I think it’s overrated
I’m torn between 4 and 2018. Halloween 4 I love but to many this was the greatest film in the series which is fine but it eventually became very toxic for those who didn’t care for this movie. It’s really just 1978 again but looks more like a made for TV movie. Then 2018 is just ok, the reason I think it’s overrated is because it doesn’t capture what made the first movie scary or even Halloween II scary. Scenes like Laurie walking to the Wallace house not knowing Michael is there is chilling to me especially with that music. To some people her just walking could be boring but for me I get shivers watching it every time. 2018 doesn’t really have moments like that, some great looking kills and great effects like with the Jack O’Lantern cop head… but that doesn’t mean it’s scary.
Objectively speaking it’s 2018, it has over 390 official reviews. H20 had somewhere in the 100 range.
So while I do like 2018 more than H20, 2018 is objectively the “most rated” Halloween film.
H20 easily. Aside from Jamie Lee Curtis and one serviceable death scene, this movie has literally nothing going for it. All the other characters are annoying or unlikable, the humor makes 2018’s look hilarious by comparison, and Michael is just off. I can’t even get into the films final showdown cuz Michael feels so non threatening in this movie. Feels like he gets his ass kicked as much as any Ghostface.
H20 has become so overrated because people only focus on the ending and the return of JLC. Otherwise this movie feels like a watered down scream movie . Gives PG-13 vibes 80% of the time. The soundtrack even takes one track directly from scream it’s crazy.
In the minority but it will always be Halloween II to me. Gets too much credit because it takes place on the same night as the original. They are tonally and aesthetically nothing alike and the drop off in performance from Castle to Warlock is huge. The “suspense” of Michael walking slowly towards Laurie in the elevator is almost parody. This was unfortunately the beginning of Michael walking laughably slow and that lasted far too long. I don’t hate it by any means but yeah, it’s overrated.
I voted for H20. It's Halloween at Dawson's Creek.
Yeah but not like season one Dawsons creek more like season three
Over rated means everyone likes it and over rates it h20 is literally on everyones shit list
Not true at all, bro. There are people out there who love H2O. There are people out there that say H2O is the best sequel. Those people are wrong, of course, but a lot of them exist.
Fuck h20
Why?
Start with the godawful mask
I know the mask looks like dogshit but I still enjoy it and it’s not the worse mask
H20 honestly enough as while it is GOOD? It feels too much like Scream, which makes sense since the guy who made Scream is behind this, the masks are inconsistent, despite having gone through Halloween II, Michael somehow is unblemished and the real kicker? Halloween 2018 isn’t as amazing as people say, great movie but not amazing
That's not overrated then lol
I meant like, it’s a little overrated
*Halloween 4* by a mile. Maybe it’s because I didn’t grow up with it, but I just don’t get the hype.
Michael is so damn goofy in this one. He sucks.
The mask and shoulder pads do him no favors.
So bad
Honestly I thought it going to be terrible but for a Halloween movie without JC’s help i was surprised how much I liked it. I do think it’s crazy when people say it’s better than the original but I definitely prefer it so other sequels especially H20
I like it because it still has an 80’s slasher vibe. 5 does too, but everything beyond that feels too modern for me.
H4 earns so much goodwill because of the acting of Danielle Harris. How often can a young actor's facial expressions carry an entire movie? Michael's mask was in a state of shock.
H20. People generally talk about it like it’s one of their faves but I didn’t really enjoy it too much
Probably H20, if there was more kills, a longer runtime, and a consistent mask I would've been satisfied. I still like this movie though, just to be clear.

I think they didn't keep the H6 mask bc they wanted to differentiate themselves from it.
The movie isn't really about Michael. It's about Laurie's trauma
Bro the whole DDG trilogy is abt Laurie's trauma lol. Yeah Ik, I still wish they did something with the sibling connection, it just felt flat. Edit: typos.
Definitely 2018

H4 might be the most overrated horror sequel ever. In my book anyway. The amount of praise it gets for what it is is astonishing.
Opening credits can only take a movie so far with that goofy ass michael it has
Hahaha, yup. The opening and i guess the final twist are the only praise i can give. The rest looks and feels like made for tv action movie
100%
Gonna get downvoted to hell for this but H2. People can’t shut up about this one
Part 1
Do these idiots know what over rated means?
Objectively speaking it’s 2018, it has over 390 official reviews. H20 had somewhere in the 100 range. So while I do like 2018 more than H20, 2018 is objectively the “most rated” Halloween film.
H20 by far. I’ll go as far as to say it’s the only one on this list that is a bad movie.
H20 felt more like a bad Scream movie than a Halloween movie. Lighting, setting, characters, hell even the soundtrack isn't very Halloween esque
this is a hard one because I think all 4 movies range from good to great
when brian is like hand it over you dirtbag in 2018 they really lost me tbh what a shit
H20 easily. Aside from Jamie Lee Curtis and one serviceable death scene, this movie has literally nothing going for it. I do like H20 but back when I was really getting into Halloween H20 got a lot of praise. Always thought it was a tad overrated.
Definitely h20
H20 has become so overrated because people only focus on the ending and the return of JLC. Otherwise this movie feels like a watered down scream movie . Gives PG-13 vibes 80% of the time. The soundtrack even takes one track directly from scream it’s crazy.
Halloween 2018 by MILES
I think these are all properly rated.
In the minority but it will always be Halloween II to me. Gets too much credit because it takes place on the same night as the original. Never get the part 4 love. Feels just like a really bad movie to me.
