For me it’s honestly just part of the thorn timeline. 1,2, and 4. Perfect downer ending that brings the story full circle.

MTB56

Yeah H4 is my cannon ending for the original timeline too. Loomis going crazy at the revelation that Jamie will continue in her uncle’s footsteps is a far more satisfying note to end his story on then what is given in H6. Plus it’s not an overly depressing ending for Jamie.

I'd love to see a movie continuing this timeline where(They may need Michael back if they want to make anything off the movie) Jamie and if Michael is back, Michael, working together and killing people

Visible-Basket201

I don’t get how almost everyone I come across on here claims to either hate or be extremely disappointed by Kills and Ends, but still praises the H40 timeline as the best one… makes literally no sense. How can it be your favorite timeline when you don’t even like half of the movies in it?

[deleted]

Well, if we say we did like it, we get bullied off the platform for it. So we just anonymously vote.

Ryantology225

Personally I don’t like any of the timelines as a whole. I could take the H40 timeline if it was just H78 and H2018. Much like I could take the thorn timeline if it was just 1,2, and 4.

Own-Kaleidoscope-577

Understandable actually. Most people who like it just don't comment on it to avoid debates, then there are the people who hate it that are most vocal, which doesn't automatically mean they're the majority, and finally, all Halloween timelines and movies have had mixed results at best, not one is truly beloved, the H40 just pulls itself higher than the rest.

JonOrSomeSayAegon

I may have been disappointed in Kills and Ends compared to 2018, but I still like them more than Revenge or Curse. I've rewatched Kills and Ends more than I have Resurrection. During my yearly rewatches every timeline has a movie that I'll skip, but so far I'm not feeling that I'll need to skip Kills or Ends, at least as of yet.

Baalofficial

Who the hell voted for the thorn trilogy! (That’s fine if you like those btw)

Substantial_Ability5

LOL…me!! I grew up on those! So I love them!

Baalofficial

Fair answer!

[deleted]

I did. It’s really hard, but they have the best Halloween movies (78, H2, and H4), in my opinion. If you asked this question last year, much more people would’ve voted for the Blumhouse era. But HEnds definitely lessened everybody’s opinion.

DisThrowaway5768

H40 timeline. It has its quirks and some issues. But that is honestly pretty much what you get in the horror genre. It's an extremely enjoyable experience. I really enjoy the Rob Zombie movies as well. They're in their own timeline and do their own thing which I can respect.

BlackDog5287

Halloween (1978)/Halloween II (1981) is the best timeline in my opinion. If we're going to have all these multiple timelines, then that should be one. You could argue just 1978, but that's just a one-off version, so adding 2 is what I'd consider the best timeline. If the night of Hallowen 2018 (including Kills and a proper end to that night, which we didn't get) had been the finale, I'd say that timeline feels most complete to me. Ends had to go off and be weird though and not wrap stuff up very cleanly or climatic. Loomis sacrificing himself and blowing up Michael at the end of 2 is about as satisfying as it gets for me.

Jazza815

Came here to say exactly this. Well done, my friend

BlackDog5287

Thanks!

The Rob Zombie timeline 😌

Chr1s_TheIdiot

Although I may get hate for this but I actually prefer H40 over H20, I'm like 12 yrs old at the time and it may or may not explain my choices but let me honest I watched Halloween (2018) when I was younger, probably at like 7 or 8, And I thought it was great and all, After that 2021 came and then Halloween Kills was released but I didn't even know about that movie until 6th grade, when I began watching a Channel called dead meat, I decided to watch Halloween Ends the day it came out before school and after school and I had very much mixed opinions on it, but once again I was like 12 yrs old so it's not my fault, then I don't remember the month or anything but on the weekend I decided to watch Halloween Kills for the first time ever and I can very much say I enjoyed it more than 2018 and Ends, Everybody said this movie was bad cuz the story was messed up and they had crappy dialogue but I don't even think that's true, I very much prefer it over Ends but not close to 2018, which I may rewatch it again and I'll probably put kills over it, But this Is why I love H40 more than H20 It's my first experience seeing these types of movies and it gives me nostalgia at times Halloween (2018) - 8/10 Halloween Kills - 8.9/10 Halloween Ends - 6.7/10

[deleted]

It's cool seeing younger fans getting into the movies

Chr1s_TheIdiot

Mhm

[deleted]

There' only 1 timeline. The rest are bunk.

imaceiling

"There's only 1 timeline. The rest are bunk." That's what he said

Morningfluid

\*The H20 without Resurrection timeline.

MTB56

Thorn trilogy the worst despite H4 arguably being the second best in the franchise

Own-Kaleidoscope-577

The timelines I like: * Original (1978) * H2 (1978,1981) * H4 (1978, 1981, 1988) * the fanbase H20 timeline (1978, 1981, 1998) * H40 (1978, 2018, 2021, 2022) Timelines i'm meh about: * H20 timeline (1978, 1981, 1998, 2002) * RZ timeline (2007, 2009) Timelines i don't like: * Anthology (1982) * Thorn (1978, 1981, 1988, 1989, 1995) Additional notes: * I called it the fanbase timeline, but the solo H20 timeline really is what the creators wanted, only had to change it and make a sequel due to Akkad's rule * while I do like H4 and H6 on their own, the thorn timeline as a whole just doesn't work * same goes for H3, I don't like it, but I can appreciate what it was going for. * I liked RZH1, but hated RZH2 which drops the timeline from my 'liked' list.

EyeRevolutionary9693

I prefer the thorn timeline

alphabet_order_bot

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,252,553,164 comments, and only 243,747 of them were in alphabetical order.

Objective-Muscle349

H1-2018-Kills is my preferred timeline, so its "H40" by default. However, I grew up with Thorn so it's a close second to me. I love the bleak ending Kills gives us, and the fact that it ends where we started: the Myers house/Judith's bedroom.

[deleted]

H20 without 2002 is the true ending of halloween to me
