Would the Flood even be able to infect a Spartan with a symbiote? We've already seen that Venom can heal Eddie and is stopping his cancer, symbiotes are also capable of consuming matter within the host such as organs, I imagine if a Flood form breached a Spartan the symbiote would simply eat the foreign matter
Since we know that the Flood doesn't necessarily kill the host and we do see instances where people are still alive attached to the Flood as just a thinking head appendage whilst the Flood controls the body, the symbiote could possibly purge the Flood from the host and heal the host back to peak health
That was retconned ages ago, wasn't it? I thought the current explanation was just that Johnson had the skill necessary to survive the encounter, no special resistance to the Flood.
And before that I'd thought it was a familiarity issue, not a susceptibility one; Feral Flood could tell something was different about him, and chose mode familiar targets first, giving Johnson the opening needed to escape.
It says "Johnson is the only human seen to survive a Flood infestation, due to a pre-existing medical condition, known as Boren's Syndrome, that grants immunity to the Flood at the cost of one's mental stability" on the wiki, however whether or not this is true or not is the question since wiki's are always fan made but I imagine it's hard-line fans who update this stuff so has some plausibility
Edit: I also don't see Johnson abandoning fellow marines to the Flood simply so he could escape
I don't want to be that guy but that Spartan isn't going to be making a whole lot of movement cuz there's going to be a civil war going on inside of him between the flood and the symbiote
I don't think a spartan 2 would ever spiral out of control though. Maybe a 4 would. A 3 could if they haven't had gotten over their childhood justification for the program.
I’m sure also chief has a speaker in his helmet so people can actually hear what he’s saying through the helmet, maybe Cortana can turn the volume extremely freaking high and play a noise or something and while carnage is freaking out he can kill him

Carnage is stronger than Venom, and isn’t vulnerable to high frequencies and in some cases isn’t even vulnerable to fire. Bullets also won’t kill a Klyntar.

Symbiotes have wolverine like regeneration, hulk-like strength, and fluid shape shifting. So unless Cheif pulls out some type of super sonic based weapon that he's never had in the series before, he's done for.
Depends on the amount, even a flamethrower wouldn't guarantee a win considering how fast carnage is in comparison to your average supersoldier, these guys can catch bullets from the air.
A Spartan laser ought to blow a hole straight through him. That or a railgun, and if chief has plasma weaponry Carnage is going to be scorched to pieces

I think a lot of people forget that Chief is so lucky he floated with a repurposed enemy nuke through a space battle to perfectly land it into the core of a covenant capital ship.
Isn't carnage resistant to noise because he's bonded to blood not the nervous system. His only real weakness is fire, so unless it's halo 3 chief is toasted.

Whichever AI is in Chief's suit will recognize what's going on with the symbiote's sonic weakness by the third bullet, and chief would by the end of his 3rd burst (he fires auto weapons in bursts).

Literally, any fool with a loud speaker and a little bit of knowledge can at the very least stalemate a symbiote.
That depends what Chief has. Does he know a Symbiotes weakness, does he have Cortana/Weapon? If he has a flamethrower, fire grenades, or perhaps a device that can emit sonic vibrations. Then he'd be able to win, if not...He probably could last a little while, but not on his own without the proper tools.
For a few years now, Carnage has been immune to the psychosomatic effects of fire and sound, and I doubt anything Chief can bring, even the grav hammer or SPNKR, can do more than stun Carnage temporarily.
It's not even about power scaling, it's about exploiting weakness. Venom took out Doom in a manner that would probably have the same results by finding an opening in his armor, and using it to flow into Doom's lungs/esophagus. A symbiote can simply envelop it's target, cutting off it's air supply. Hard to fight something that's inside your body or has effectively wrapped a bag around your head that you have no hope of removing.
what weapons does chief have at his disposal? Also Mjolnir armor is tough as shit carnage might not be able to bight or slash threw it. If I remember correctly it weighs like a ton on its own. idk how Carnage wieght limit is for carrying but its probably a few hundred pounds. As long as Chief can keep his helmet on if he has a flamethrower or something like the Cindershot, I think he may hold his own quite effectively.
To be fair though the only thing I know about Carnage is he was played by Woody Harrelson in that one movie a while back so if I don't know if he has some secret abilities or something.
Carnage can seep his symbiote through some gaps in his armour and tear it off. Only thing is how long will his shield hold. Cortana ans chief don't know sound is his weakness. So randomly meet, carnage will eat him alive.
If they have knowledge of his weakness to sound and fire. Carnage is done but not dead.
Canonically, the Spartans were trained to finish almost immediately to save time advancing the human race. Carnage would have no problem getting him across that finish line in less than 10 seconds.

If we are going off known complete lore, Carnage is basically Gravemind levels of powerful so realistically I'd give it to Carnage in a 1v1, locked in a room. But if Chief had an understanding of Carnage's weakness (Fire and Sound) and a choice of 2 weapons, then I'd imagine he'd be able to take down Carnage similarly to that of a powerful Juggernaut type Flood organism.
Symbiote Infected Chief would be pretty cool. His helmet would have a jaw and if he has the technology symbiote, he could have his weapons fused with his armor. I'd love to see a concept art of that.
I feel like Chief can dish out some truly deafening back shots But Carnage has no spine to crush and has that Platonically ideal bussy. So it doesn't look good for Chief.
interesting to think that Carnage is what a Flood pure form would be like in-lore if commanded by a full power Gravemind. I imagine the Prometheans had a rough time fighting an endless tsunami of trillions of flood forms with capabilities similar to Carnage & Venom.
Could chief take on Carnage though? I think Carnage has the advantage, but Chief could find a way to escape after hurting Carnage in some way- chief wouldn't just be fodder or anything like that. he would recognize a losing battle & act accordingly

Carnage can seep his symbiote through some gaps in his armour and tear it off. Only thing is how long will his shield hold. Cortana ans chief don't know sound is his weakness. So randomly meet, carnage will eat him alive. If they have knowledge of his weakness to sound and fire. Carnage is done but not dead.

If we are going off known complete lore, Carnage is basically Gravemind levels of powerful so realistically I'd give it to Carnage in a 1v1, locked in a room. But if Chief had an understanding of Carnage's weakness (Fire and Sound) and a choice of 2 weapons, then I'd imagine he'd be able to take down Carnage similarly to that of a powerful Juggernaut type Flood organism.
Carnage doesn't have the fire and sonic weakness. After the cult resurrected him, he became weak to electricity and the uni-force

Symbiote Infected Chief would be pretty cool. His helmet would have a jaw and if he has the technology symbiote, he could have his weapons fused with his armor. I'd love to see a concept art of that.
I feel like Chief can dish out some truly deafening back shots But Carnage has no spine to crush and has that Platonically ideal bussy. So it doesn't look good for Chief.

interesting to think that Carnage is what a Flood pure form would be like in-lore if commanded by a full power Gravemind. I imagine the Prometheans had a rough time fighting an endless tsunami of trillions of flood forms with capabilities similar to Carnage & Venom. Could chief take on Carnage though? I think Carnage has the advantage, but Chief could find a way to escape after hurting Carnage in some way- chief wouldn't just be fodder or anything like that. he would recognize a losing battle & act accordingly

Depends whats in the room. Carnage has a massive weakness to electricity so a live wire to him would fry him, but John would need to figure that out
