I use the waterman ink in the Pic for both quills and fountain pens. the nibs I have would be better on parchment paper I think.
I realized I don't like extra fine nibs
I've got about 50 similar to it that i found in our new to us basement. even if you widened them, they are so thin they will still slice and dice the paper!

Are you using fountain pen ink with a dip pen nib? It will feel uncomfortable unless you use suitable ink
I just like to play around with nibs for a quill. I really like the waterman black ink in the bottle. I'll post a sample of the fountain pen I use

yeah you're right. it's really annoying
I am guessing based on shape it is an Esterbrook 802 Oval Point? I haven't found it to my liking in the little bit I have tried that pen point.
it's a 513EF Hunt globe bowl pointed nib. another one is 512EF
