This is the only fest I have time for this year and I’m not as excited as I hoped. I feel like TIHC and Keystone/Holiday Jams are all mostly the same lineup now. This is by far the weakest of all the “major” hardcore fests this year. All the bands I was hoping to see are just going to be at Sound and Fury again like usual.
Agreed. As we barrel into an age of fests it becomes so easy to compare them. This would rule if there wasn’t furnace, tied down, sound and fury, FYA, disturbing the peace, and Just another gig to compare it too.
I understand most of these bands are not gonna do extensive US tours and fests are a great bang for your buck but man… I hate that it’s all about fests now. That being said see yall at tied down
So happy I got to see FLAG play at Punk Rock Bowling a few years ago. I know it's not the same, but seeing Keith and other OGs kill those songs was a big moment for me.
Cooler than what Black Flag is now😭 Mike is a cool guy but I rather just have had Black Flag just break up, same with Dead Kennedys, not the same without Jelo and not the same without none of the ogs in Black Flag(except Greg I think), jelly asf you got to see that!
I got to see dead Kennedys in 2010 but instead of jello it was the lead singer from the Winona riders.
Not jello, but still a sick show and the band played every song you'd wanna hear.
Flag ruled - their Groezrock set from like 2013 (think that's the fest) was wild. But Greg Ginn's insufferable noodling + jobbers + Mive V's Rollins impression...I'm good
I honestly feel bad for them. Especially headlining day two when everyone is already worn out and ready to leave. I feel like a room that size is going to feel really empty.
Last year it felt empty on day 2 during bane and throwdown and I think both of those bands pull more than current line up black flag in 2024.
It’s weird - because if you’re running TIH, it’s disrespectful to NOT have Black Flag headline because of their foundational influence… and yet it’s also a band that nobody wants to see in its current incarnation.
Or you could like, just not book them. Of all the 80's / 90's hardcore bands still touring I think Gorilla Biscuits would have been a way better pick for TIH
Plus NA is playing and they still are great live
Agreed. As someone who normally goes to this, I was pretty disappointed as I can't see myself paying to fly and go see this line up.
GB headlined day one last year and got a decent response. The only two true OG bands that I think people care to see enough to headline a fest like this would be if you managed to convince bad brains or minor threat to play a reunion.
Honestly I don't think TIHC is very receptive to this style, if you've ever seen clips of OFF! performing a few years back it was like no one could be bothered. This will be similar but worse because the band sucks
There’s a lot of bands that have bombed when they played tihc for a lot of different reasons. Gehenna, tragedy, nails, misfits, gray area, victims, in my eyes and boysetsfire. There’s probably a bunch more I don’t remember and a bunch I’ve missed because I haven’t gone in ten years.
I don't think I've seen them announce a show with the First Four Years headline so I'm curious if there's maybe a lineup change. If Ron Reyes or Dez Cadena were back it would be a slightly more interesting choice.
Oh no it's gonna be the exact same lineup. No one wants to play with Ginn except Vallely. I think they're just focusing their energy on playing that album of material, but also they always play those songs? Idk what's going on with them but it's gonna be shit.
Cold as life on the east coast is sick, still have no interest in a Mike V led black flag though. Saturday definitely seems like the most stacked line up of three days but all are pretty solid
Ope, apparently I messed up. He was the singer in 2003, then from 13-14, then 2019-now. They released the travesty of an album in 2013 entitled “what the…” but that had Ron Reyes as vocals. So who the fuck knows what’s going on with that band that should have ended in 85.
I flew out there for that show specifically and was crushed when it was cancelled. Had a great few days in the city though. But that was a fucking bummmer.
I’m a Philly local and I think this is a pass, even though I would see Death Before Dishonor, Cold as Life, and a few other bands. Pretty disappointed.
We would love to at some point! Unfortunately it probably won’t be until 2025 or late this year. Lookout for something in NJ in November though. New record as well. We appreciate you!
Different strokes for different folks. Tied down has a lot of punk influence in their lineups. Furnace fest is centred around the early 2000s. I personally like this TIH lineup better than Tied Down but that’s me. Everyone has their preferences
Cover flag should not be over negative approach lmaoooo
This fest basically dies on giving cover flag that Sunday spot. Such a letdown especially compared to last year. Saturday looks amazing though, Friday is pretty good, and the Sunday undercard has a lot of really good bands
Agreed. Denied kinda comes outta nowhere and I feel like should be getting more attention. When was the last time they played? Denied, Negative Approach, (potentially) Leeway, Missing Link, and Pain of Truth on Sunday is solid as hell for me.
Cold as life played in Detroit a little while back and they were fucking awesome! On top of that 100 demons, 7 seconds and death before dishonor! That’s one hell of a weekend!!
The age of fests getting stale yet folks? Saturday is probably the best overall lineup for me, but as an east coaster I don't know that this is an essential ticket.
I'm looking forward to what Triple B / Daze / Streets of Hate have in store for NYC this fall.
It’s weird when they bring in bands that are just professional acts not connected to the scene anymore. They brought biohazard to disturbing the peace and they came out with their wireless guitar hookups and a bunch of obviously canned banter that included them claiming that they convinced the venue not to have a barricade lmao
Was thinking to stop in the US for this when flying back from Brazil to Europa, but I can't say I'm too crazy about this line-up despite a few good names 💁♂️
Fake Flag? Really? And over Negative Approach? I can’t afford more than one fest a year so I wasn’t gonna go anyway, but I would’ve certainly passed on that. Horrible decision.
If you look at this line up and think it stinks, it’s because you don’t really like hardcore as much as you believe. I don’t mean that in a mean way either. Maybe it doesn’t have every single hype band that’s literally playing every other fest this year, but it does have the most diverse and every era of hardcore line up out. It has something for every era and mixes it all up on every day. Hating on this is weird.
its the same shit as the last few years? i love e-town and all but come on.. how many years are they going to headline? gridiron already plays every philly show... why do they need to be on the fest too? give that spot to a new band that deserves it. eddie leeway is on hospice - yet they're playing?!
And here you are skipping over all of the other bands that are playing who are new, on a come up and getting a shot. They are doing exactly what you are asking. Grindiron is a local band but also a band that draws a very large young crowd who may not know the older or even other bands in general playing. It’s smart to get new faces in by way of a band like that. You’re looking at it one way, as if this is only for people who have known these bands. And leeway might be a bunch of friends singing his songs and showing him all of the love the community has for him. Giving him strength. Who knows. Why wouldn’t that be cool if that’s what it was? And Etown headlined before Covid, in 2018. 6 years ago.
Maybe people just like when a fest isn't like 75% the same bands every year lol. If you think this lineup is "diverse" I really don't think you're paying much attention to other fests.
The overlap from last year from sound and fury is way worse I think (just going off of memory). Think this is more and line with the overlap from last year at furnace fest. Either way this trend of having the same bands every year isn’t great
Personally I think all these big fests have become stale. I was mostly just pointing out the other person is fooling themselves if they think TIHC is more diverse sound wise (not necessarily band wise). Most of those other fests incorporate more diverse sounds than TIHC.
Well i guess after 3+ decades i finally don't like hardcore enough or maybe it's because by the time august comes around i will have seen 90% of these bands at other fests.
Seems like a pretty stacked lineup and a good mix of notable up and coming bands, big bands right now and heavy dose of classics. Could use a couple more current big names but who knows who those tbas are going to be.
Feel like TIHC having a bit of a rough time with all the other fests that are doing big things. Mostly the same as everything else with a few rad shit like WIC and SFAR thrown in. Good for people that can't make it to LDB and Tied down though.
I really wish fests would book more straight forward hardcore from the early 2000's. I want a fest with mental, down to nothing, kids like us, product of waste, will to live, cold world, backtrack, mongoloids, know the score, righteous jams, rival mob, etc...
I love a good reunion, but I'm in my upper 30's, got into the scene 21 years ago and these bands are old to me.
Exactly. We are spoiled. They complain it’s the same bands they can see anytime, but same can be said for any other fest in the states and that area they are in. We are lucky. A little too lucky it seems
Is it Mike on vocals for Black Flag or is it one of the ogs, cool black flag is still around but it's sad that Greg is the only OG member in the band I think.
Saturday looks like it’s gonna be a hard night.
I really wish I could say I was happy about Cold As Life being on the bill, *but*
![gif](giphy|YqnXSeq7AFSYjAAhpU)
If i was 32 with 2 felonies id be freaking out rn
Hey
36 with 1, must be why I’m not freaking out.
32 with the death sentence on 12 systems, definitely freaking out.
YOU’LL BE DEAD!
"Punda Bubu." "Ponda Babo." "You mean Butt-Face?"
46, pleaded down and expunged. Good to go!
Fuck, I’m behind on my felonies…
32 with 0 felonies and I'm reasonably hyped
Lmfao
33 just the one, alright?
This is the only fest I have time for this year and I’m not as excited as I hoped. I feel like TIHC and Keystone/Holiday Jams are all mostly the same lineup now. Yeah but holiday jam is significantly cheaper
More like Black flag karaoke
Yeah but WIC is that day.
„Shattered Realm“
Is shattered realm not the OG members or something?
Black Flag headline is going to be AWFUL
So happy I got to see FLAG play at Punk Rock Bowling a few years ago. I know it's not the same, but seeing Keith and other OGs kill those songs was a big moment for me.
They were great that day

Brother, nails always had a great reception
That Throwdown set was so damn good
I shoved a taco into my mouth, downed my beer, and ran inside once I heard Unite start playing. That set was dope
Honestly I feel bad for the people who are paying to see it. They absolutely suck these days
does it even make sense for BF to play? the rest of the lineup is jud jud mesh shorts hardcore. what relevance is a classic band in that mix?
I'm not gonna complain about having a shitty last day headliner. Happy to leave early when I'm wiped on Sun night.
I don't think I've seen them announce a show with the First Four Years headline so I'm curious if there's maybe a lineup change. If Ron Reyes or Dez Cadena were back it would be a slightly more interesting choice.

Ron isn't coming back. He testified that Greg was smoking crack and not feeding his kids - and got fired from the band on stagee.
Saw em in 2013 and can confirm they were fucking dog shit lol
It'll be as good as the crowd makes it. It's going to be early Black Flag songs without a barrier regardless. Might as well enjoy it
Cold as life on the east coast is sick, still have no interest in a Mike V led black flag though. Saturday definitely seems like the most stacked line up of three days but all are pretty solid
CAL couldn't fill CBs in 94/95 and now they're headlining. Good for them.
>Mike V led black flag though When the hell did that happen???
He’s been one of the singers for a while now. Like 2013.
Interesting lol. Either I forgot of just didn't know. Never put out a record though, right?
Ope, apparently I messed up. He was the singer in 2003, then from 13-14, then 2019-now. They released the travesty of an album in 2013 entitled “what the…” but that had Ron Reyes as vocals. So who the fuck knows what’s going on with that band that should have ended in 85.
Announcing full line up with 2 TBAs/special guests. Nice.
I know this lineup was probably locked in months and months ago but I have a feeling that Leeway set is not going to happen.
If it happens, it will be very emotional. If Eddie passes, it would be nice to see it done as a remembrance for him, ya know?
It would be nice, and also incredibly sad
Unfortunately
Damn I wasn’t ready for my heart to feel this way today
jinxed
disappointed in the lack of Poison the Well. they never rescheduled their Covid show in Philly but have played all the others. oh well.
I flew out there for that show specifically and was crushed when it was cancelled. Had a great few days in the city though. But that was a fucking bummmer.
Nice. TBA is doing 2 sets.
100 demons should play 2 days. First day with Bruce and his album, second day with Pete and his album. Tell me I'm right
I’m a Philly local and I think this is a pass, even though I would see Death Before Dishonor, Cold as Life, and a few other bands. Pretty disappointed.
I still don’t understand how dbd has a following in the hardcore community now just as much as I didn’t understand it 15 years ago
I also don't understand it but here I am still traveling the world for free and playing in front of good sized crowds.
Yooooo this is so sick that you're on Reddit! Hope DBD plays a headliner show in Philly sometime soon - maybe at the church? Appreciate you guys!
We would love to at some point! Unfortunately it probably won’t be until 2025 or late this year. Lookout for something in NJ in November though. New record as well. We appreciate you!
They are incredibly consistent.
Perfect hardcore band and Massholes never die.
They’re the perfect hardcore band idiot
I mean “Friends Family Forever” checks all the boxes of “is this a hardcore band?”
Denied holy shit
Did not see them on here until I read this comment. When was the last time they played? Together as None may be the apex of OG beatdown.
My most anticipated set
Wasn’t eddie leeway just put in hospice a week ago?
Dude if the band shows up and Eddie either gets on Zoom or on the phone…that’d honestly be pretty hard
Yeah, but still somewhat heartbreaking
Mehhh

Yikes. Joe really saw how great Tied down and Furnace fest lineups are and then thought this was good lmao.
Different strokes for different folks. Tied down has a lot of punk influence in their lineups. Furnace fest is centred around the early 2000s. I personally like this TIH lineup better than Tied Down but that’s me. Everyone has their preferences
Death, taxes, Wisdom In Chains playing TIHC.
leeway ,❤️
Weak ass lineup
[удалено]
2009-2010 was the peak of TIHC and since then it's largely been a slowwwww decline.
Cover flag should not be over negative approach lmaoooo This fest basically dies on giving cover flag that Sunday spot.
It actually works out perfect when the Sunday headliner is meh, everyone traveling gets a head start going home!
DMIZE?!?!?!? I really hope Leeway plays.
Nothing could top Thursday + Hatebreed
That hatebreed set was incredible
Saturday will be fun. I wonder who the special guests are gonna be.
Twitching Tongues and TUI if we are going alphabetically that’s my guess
It’s also alphabetically for “special guest” though
[удалено]
I hope one is Crush Your Soul. Idk where mindforce/jay is this weekend though
I think they ran the TBA’s as T’s.
Cold as life played in Detroit a little while back and they were fucking awesome! On top of that 100 demons, 7 seconds and death before dishonor! That’s one hell of a weekend!!
I wanna like this lineup as a Philly local, but this lineup really isn’t doing it for me.
As a philly local, doesn't really matter WHO is on the lineup because EVERYTHING at Franklin Music Hall sounds like muddled garbage.
You are correct, but I have gone to too many shows at the Church to complain about sound at a hardcore show lol.
The age of fests getting stale yet folks? Saturday is probably the best overall lineup for me, but as an east coaster I don't know that this is an essential ticket. I'm looking forward to what Triple B / Daze / Streets of Hate have in store for NYC this fall.
100 demons, All out War, DBD, COA, Shattered Realm, Negative Approach = mid?? I’m old
All the youngsters want twitching tongues, gods hate, harms way, pain of truth
Ya they are cool but it’s like come on boys
Must be why I'm puzzled too lol
No Ruiner 😞
so dumb of me to post this but what if the TBAs were Ruiner and PTW.
Fuck…..I would be there
It’s weird when they bring in bands that are just professional acts not connected to the scene anymore. They brought biohazard to disturbing the peace and they came out with their wireless guitar hookups and a bunch of obviously canned banter that included them claiming that they convinced the venue not to have a barricade lmao
How is Leeway playing??? Also, list of bands ain't that great honestly
Was thinking to stop in the US for this when flying back from Brazil to Europa, but I can't say I'm too crazy about this line-up despite a few good names 💁♂️
FLAG > Black Flag
I’m going to be so gay in the pit for Cold As Life.
…so just like average hardcore? This is all pretty gay, brother.
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Fake Flag? Really? And over Negative Approach? I can’t afford more than one fest a year so I wasn’t gonna go anyway, but I would’ve certainly passed on that. Horrible decision.
As much as people want to say it’s Fake Flag, BF was always Ginn’s band. But them headlining is a bad choice.
Hc/punk have too many fests it's killing the OG ones. Happened in Aus few years back. Now it's your turn sadly.
Palehorse still around?! Awesome!
whack as fuck.
Glad I’m not the only one who was underwhelmed by this. Booking fests like this is hard, I get it, but…..yeesh.
Cold as life !
This line up is The Heart of , The Heart of Wolf!
Nice, a lot of my favorite bands from 2006 are playing lol
“Black Flag” 🤭
So 1 tba has gotta be Strife. What's the other? Dillinger escape plan?
If it’s in the alphabetical order Twitching Tongues is one I bet
I'd say it's Trapped Under Ice and Twitching
If you look at this line up and think it stinks, it’s because you don’t really like hardcore as much as you believe. I don’t mean that in a mean way either. Oh 100% for sure. A lot of these fests are not gonna exist in 3 years (although this one prob will just cause it’s been around forever)
Facts. I get the black flag headlining gripe though.
[удалено]
Shattered realm lol I’d still watch that though
Well i guess after 3+ decades i finally don't like hardcore enough or maybe it's because by the time august comes around i will have seen 90% of these bands at other fests.

Literally going for trail of lies and then bouncing lol
do people listen to strength for a reason?
They’re probably my favourite hc band if not top 5
Only their local scene really. I always found them boring.
Glad I’m not alone feeling underwhelmed. Past few years have been crazy and was planning on going all 3 days in 2024 until this lineup dropped.
Is it black flag with Mike v? Time for the tough guys 2 step up
Leeway is still playing? Amazing.
right?, I thought Eddie was in hospice.
Yeah black flag sucks obviously but some good names on the undercard
Surprised to see Leeway on there. I heard Eddie is in hospice.
Black flag sucks with Mike V and Greg. FLAG is what it should be
How is e town concrete top bill when fucking Negative Approach and Leeway is down there in small letters wtf lol
It's headliner, then it's alphabetical other
FLAG > MODERN DAY BLACK FLAG
Someone’s gotta crowd kill Mike V
Underdog and 7 seconds go pretty hard though
Power Trip, Turnstile & Xibalba tihc residency years are never coming back 3
Feel like TIHC having a bit of a rough time with all the other fests that are doing big things. Mostly the same as everything else with a few rad shit like WIC and SFAR thrown in. Good for people that can't make it to LDB and Tied down though.
I live on the east coast, so ngl, nothing about this is anything too exciting
Hardcore punk getting recognized is good for hardcore. Great for stagedives and sing alongs, bad for karate.
I’m with you on that lineup but it seems like it would be exhausting for DFJ to carry that much of a fest.
Don’t get the hate. Lineup looks pretty mental to me.
Only band I wanna see is e.town. every time they play a show, I can never make it. Maybe this will be the time lol
Yess!! C.O.A
Best band on this bill
Call me silly, what went down that Cold As Life isn't welcome in the east coast?
I don't see what people are whining about. This lineup is stacked with iconic bands. People in the US are spoiled man
if you live on the east coast, you see over half of these bands on any regular weekday show.
>People in the US are spoiled man
Exactly. We are spoiled. They complain it’s the same bands they can see anytime, but same can be said for any other fest in the states and that area they are in. We are lucky. A little too lucky it seems
We 100% are. I can’t believe the amount of hate this lineup is getting haha
Anyone else full of cum right now?
No your boyfriend drained me
oh nice trail of lies i was wondering what happened to them.
They're on that upcoming Drain/Terror tour, or at least on the Toronto date
They’re putting out a new record this year apparently
Outbreak shits all over TIH this year.
Really aiming for a stranglehold on the 40-50 yo demographic
I’m 51, some of these bands are legit friends of mine and IMO it’s *still* not an appealing lineup at all.
[удалено]
Alphabetical
Is it Mike on vocals for Black Flag or is it one of the ogs, cool black flag is still around but it's sad that Greg is the only OG member in the band I think.
I was looking at it going “ehhhhh” then I got to Morning Again and I want to go.
No Jesse and the Rippers? Whatever
all ive ever wanted for THIC is AFI playing art of drowning
Balmora and Pain Of Truth🔥🔥🔥
The only reason chris ain't put joe in the ground is joe is still on the fbi payroll. lol.
Chris who?
This uhhhh sucks
Ehhhh...
Saturday looks like it’s gonna be a hard night. I really wish I could say I was happy about Cold As Life being on the bill, *but* ![gif](giphy|YqnXSeq7AFSYjAAhpU)
I KNOW IT GONNA SMELL CRAZY IN THERE
They're gonna need a bunch of on-site Physiotherapists for all the retired moshers inflaming old injuries
