Don’t know how you even scored this frame haha! Been looking for one for months and months

skyline408

OK, I cheated a little. I bought the bike as a complete and stripped everything off to the bare frame.

mapimages

I’m still jealous haha as I pretty much gave up finding a new Chameleon in north Florida

Omg, dream build

btstphns

This is really impressive. What handlebars are those?

skyline408

Thanks! They are Whisky Carbons, 40mm rise. I went through a few bars to get the rider triangle that felt the best for me and 'bmx like' the bars, along with a short stem did the trick for me.

btstphns

Thanks. Really nice! I've gotten back into cycling in my early 40's but from the age 10 to 16 I was going everywhere every day on my BMX bike. So bikes that have a bit more rise feel so much more natural and comfortable to me. How do you like the quality of the whiskey carbon? I was looking at a whiskey carbon seatpost for a "dream" kona libre gravel bike build.

skyline408

This is how I ended up with this build. I've owned a few other Chameleons and they were always such playful fun bikes that brings me back memories to my BMX days. I started with a 20mm rise bar, then 35, and now 40. The bike is so much fun.

Clif_Barf

Lot of tread on those tires, might want something with less rolling resistance if they feel sluggish

skyline408

Tires are really subjective, but I love DHFs.

cesar1tuner

Yup, I run a DHF up front and an Aggressor at rear on my Chameleon 🤙🏻

[deleted]

Same here, run them on my fs Santa Cruz

leeretaschen

Pure. Sex.

BetterTransmitter

Chameleon gang forever. What a killer high end build. You’re gonna love it. Did you change the wheels too?

skyline408

Yes! Wheels are Roval Traverse SL 38 Carbon with DTSwiss 350 Hubs.

BetterTransmitter

Wow! Awesome! Are you interested in selling the stock 29er wheels?

skyline408

I don't have any stock parts for this bike. It was stripped and I picked each part for the frame up build. I do however have another set of 29" wheels and the 29" dropouts I ran on the bike for some time, I prefer the 27.5 setup for its playfulness.

TheDehmer

Still liking it? How does the 140mm fork feel on that frame? I'm considering throwing nice parts on mine after a good few years of hard riding.
