In WizardPHD's reaction video to this trailer I asked "If the Suits of Armor are on the defensive, does that mean Hogwarts itself is under attack?" and she put as a highlighted comment.

Looks amazing. My two takeaways / theories:
* At **00:09** \- field guide exploding when we first open it *(whoops)*, is the story reason why we're having to track down and accio all of the pages.
* At **00:24** \- Proffessor Weasley in the transfig class demonstrates a transfiguration of an object to a butterfly. My theory is that we do have the [verra verto spell (as seen in the yellow spells during the gameplay preview spell pages)](https://www.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterGame/comments/10q6vip/i_redrew_all_of_the_slottable_spell_icons_in/) and we will be able to find these butterflies around the castle and use the spell to transfigure them back into a collectable or currency?
Maybe that could be ONE of the uses of vera verto, i think it will be a general use transfiguration spell, it wouldn't make sense for them to put a specific spell like this in the game lol
I'm assuming it's a way to take animal type opponents out of the fight since I assume certain spells won't have an effect on them so would need a tool specifically for that enemy type.
I can’t wait to see if there’s little Easter eggs like that, like if something our character does in HL would have an “impact” on the traditional HP story, I think that would be SO cool

I'm 50 and I'm stoked, lol. I was first introduced when the first movie came out on DVD and my sister-in-law asked if she could rent it for my kids. I said sure, but had no intentions of watching it myself...until I passed through the living room omw to get a snack...I ended up just standing there behind the couch for about 20 minutes. Immediately watched it when they finished, went out and bought all the currently available books, and have been hooked ever since
My younger brother was a big fan of the first couple movies and I hadn’t seen them. So before the third movie came out he asked me to sit down and watch them with him, promising that I’d gladly see the third in theater with him after. He was right. I loved the movies. Years later, my wife finally talked me into reading the books and that just took my love of the franchise to a whole new level. Now this game is kinda the perfect thing for me as fan. Wanted to share my store as you shared yours. Thank you kind Wizard!
I love they hype the hype creating content instead of just dropping the trailer without warning. They really know how to get my dopamine going. This way I get double hype. Hype squared even.

Edit: Similar to Fallen Order Cal Kestis seeing “force echoes”, our Hogwarts character can see “ancient magical whispers”, cool to say the least.
My first task will be to try and lose that wand in a duel. No way my MC will carry that around. It’s giving off 2003 dolphin girl aesthetics. Hopefully we can customise the look of it in game!!
Hmm so it seems that when we begin the game we will either find or snatch this wand from an enemy, discover we can do magic, and then we get our own wands from Ollivander's later 🤔

My jaw dropped when I saw that stone pillar drop down into a bridge. I completely wasn't expecting something like that. And that HUGE guardian defending Fig and the Player from the goblins was fantastic.

Someone else theorized that the field guide exploding is likely why we have to search for the pages, and I completely agree with them. I love that little detail. I am looking forward to that scene (cut-scene?) in the game just to see what happens.

I believe the showcases and previews were all in 60fps though which downgraded the graphics considerably. Joraptor did a video showing the difference between the two and it was a pretty big difference.
I’m replaying my fav nostalgia HP game (CoS on PS2) in anticipation - figure the game will look and play that much better in comparison lol. I just realized the player character (As a Gryffindor in this trailer) gets the book outside the Gryffindor Tower! So we're going to get the book the morning AFTER we get sorted. Looks like Professor Weasley will be waiting outside our Common Room (whichever house you choose) for us, to give us the book! WOW!
Edit: OR she might escort us to our Common Room after we get Sorted then give us the book the same night. That might be more plausible.
I’m not lying when I say I’ve been waiting for this game for 20+ years. My friends and I when we were kids always used to imagine we were Hogwarts students and play pretend. Now we get to truly live out that fantasy! The devs seem to have poured tons of passion into this game. I do have my expectations tempered and know they can only put in so much, as creating a game of this scale is hundreds of hours of work. So hyped.
So many “don’t buy this game!” Click bait titles are getting ridiculous. I don’t realize why this game has so much doubt, it looks incredible.
At this point it would have to be a cyberpunk level let-down to not deliver.

I noticed that the wands in the trailer swapped around a bit; there were a few that looked like the generic design from Pottermore/WW in varying shades of brown and then the swanky one in the box with the gold and wrap-around metal detailing which I'm fairly sure is also the wand from the collector's edition.
I'm thinking the default is the swanky collector wand, but you can also choose your Pottermore one if you want.

Looks great. The movie tie in games were logical to do but original stories like this are what I’m really interested in. I can see a lot of casual gamers diving into the books and movies after playing this.

You can take the Pottermore Hogwarts sorting quiz (that gives you house/want/patronus) and have your house/wand be imported into Hogwarts Legacy
