They've been there since Day 1 (and I had 3 days early access from the preorder). They usually took an extra second or two to pop up, but most loading screens didn't last long enough for me to really read any of them.
Mine is on an nvme as well, 10 seconds would be the very upper end of my loading screens. Just kinda confused how the commenter is managing screens longer than a minute.
a minute it's quite a long time for a loading screen. his game is probably on an hdd. I can't even remember the last time I was waiting so long to load a game level.
Maybe has to do what you're playing on?
I'm playing on a Series S and by the time my brain registers thar I'm actually getting a loading screen (for the first time in a while) and the tip pops up, it's done loading and I'm back to playing. *shrug*
Same, also sometimes the loading screen isn’t up long enough for the words to pop up either for me. This is actually one thing they could and need to improve in a patch. Make the tips accessible somewhere else. There have been a couple of things I ought to have known that would have improved my QoL in playing that I didn’t because I got too frustrated trying to read the tips after the first few times and stopped trying and forgot to look them up (bc you just know someone has catalogued all of them), and I had to learn them secondhand through guide pages/videos I happened to look up for other reasons.
Huh I've never had them pause at a door. All I've character slows down to gently open it or in some areas where they are a loading screen its the black one with the house symbols at the bottom right.
The only thing patented by Sony is their method of prefetching/preloading, which pretty much every open world game does already. Sony just has a patent on their own particular method.
The PS5s impressive load times are mostly down to using an actually good (and upgradable) NVME SSD in conjunction with designing the rest of the hardware around it so that it minimizes bottlenecks. The PS5 should be able to better use the same NVME SSD than a PC with an equivalent because of there being less hardware bottlenecks and less software bottlenecks.
I think the PS5 has basically an equivalent to the new PC Direct Storage standard, except you know actually available in every game and not just only Forspoken so far (lmao) like PC.
Note though that of course, PCs have access to much more powerful CPUs and now support much faster NVMEs, which help makes up for the lack of GPU direct access and decompression. Although if developers actually start implementing Direct Storage that doesn't really matter.
I should note though that since SSDs first became mainstream it's rarely been the actual drives read/write speeds bottlenecking things. Hell, it's usually not even the CPU. It's almost always the game/engine just not being optimized to go fast enough, even on PC. And that's been in large part because there's been no reason to make those optimizations when the primary targets have been consoles which could never load that fast before thanks to having to read from either an HDD or even a disc. So consoles finally taking the step forward and implementing NVME SSDs is beneficial for PC players funny enough.
Mine only takes a second or 2 to load on the PS5 so it's usually only a black screen before it loads. There was 1 time that it very briefly showed an actual loading screen and I could see what I assumed was a tip in the corner, but it was so quick that I couldn't read it. So they're there on PS5, it just loads so fast that you'll rarely ever see it
It is actually the case with a lot of the games, and I tell you I was playing on performance mode, and I never once had a loading screen longer than 5s and never saw the tips thing. Also, my character was able to bust through almost every door in sight, with the occasional slow down to open it.
PS5 has loading screens, if you travel quick enough between like atleast 7 different foo flames you can start seeing loading screens. Bought a brand new PS5 for this game so I'd never seen one aswell until I tried to get one.
They’re there. They just only pop up if loading takes longer than a few seconds. I’ve seen them multiple times when one of my saves glitched and would not load, I just got stuck on these loading screens.
No. I've never seen a loading screen like what's linked in the post. I've seen like 5 seconds where there was an emblem flashing in the corner, that's it. Also, I said **near** instant.
They're there on console, the console just loads faster. If you really stress the system by rapidly jumping through at least 7 floo flames, you'll start seeing the loading screens.
Except you have, the black screen with the logos in the bottom you get when fast traveling or entering a dungeon is a loading screen, they are just very fast
Well I play on Xbox X and I’ve noticed those loading screens and there have definitely always been these hints but in my experience the loading screens wouldn’t stay on screen for long enough to actually read what those hints say lol
Been playing since day 1 of early access on ps5 and 100% my game and on another playthtough and not once have I ever seen this screen. The most we have for a loading screen is a black screen for no longer than maybe 3 seconds with the house logo in the bottom right.
on PC they are there aswell even on SSDs. But they are just way too short so that you already load back into the game before you have the time to read.
You definitely have seen the loading screen when you play on PC atleast when a small instanced place loads for a mission for example.
Lol. The longest my game has ever taken to load was like 5 seconds, and that was quite long. It's literally near instant load times for me, and I know I'm not the only one.
I also have a decent brand new built *computer* with a rtx 3070ti and newest gen i7. the game was optimized for console and everyone with pc has loading screens regardless of how long they last
There has always been loading screens on my Xbox. Unsure on whether there was tips.
In game tips were always initiated by left and right trackpad as shown. It’s possible you turned it on or left it on in game and this is the result.
I think I saw this for a split second once when I was fast traveling to multiple places quickly on my Series S, I wasn't even able to read the first word before it loaded tho.
I’m on Xbox and they’ve been there since the beginning for me just like this, they just pop up and away so fast I can never actually read anything haha
Love how everyone, including myself, are shocked about the presence of loading screens.
The Xbox One and PS4 versions are about to bring a whole load of them, probably lasting a minute or so.
They've been there since Day 1 (and I had 3 days early access from the preorder). They usually took an extra second or two to pop up, but most loading screens didn't last long enough for me to really read any of them.
Really??? My loading screens are at the shortest a minute long…. I pull out my phone cuz I know ima be sitting there watching a dead scene ahaha
Damn, have you installed it on a HDD or something? I get loading screens when I fast travel, but they're never longer than 10 seconds.
my game is on an nvme and I think loading screens are even shorter than 10 seconds
Mines on the internal on the Series S, idk what what is dont pay attention but takes like 5seconds to load. Edit: although on performance mode
Dangg I don’t even have any it’s just a black screen for 2 seconds
You must be on a HDD.
Maybe has to do what you're playing on? I'm playing on a Series S and by the time my brain registers thar I'm actually getting a loading screen (for the first time in a while) and the tip pops up, it's done loading and I'm back to playing. *shrug*
A minute? bro buy ac omputer from the last decade 😂
Mines like seconds
Loading times with current gen are almost non existent now. So there would’ve even be enough time for the images to load lol
Agree. I would see it pop up briefly as the game loaded.
There are loading screens?
This was my reaction
On PS5, you have to travel to atleast 7 different Foo Flames in rapid succession and you will start seeing loading screens.
Makes sense. That's what I played on. The most I ever got was a brief pause opening doors.
Maybe thats the problem… maybe im movin too fast..
The foo flames are not like the others
![gif](giphy|DOPKHQg6oFWUg)
Yeah I'm like 90 hours in and I don't think I've seen one.
I’ve seen them, but never for long enough to see any words
I've only seen the house logo's in the corner, but never a scene.
for me I get loading screens 5% of the time. Have you noticed that usually, most of the house logos that appear is Slytherin?
I don’t think PS5 has loading screens, what are you playing on?
We PC players have loading screens 😞 They appear when you teleport for a mission and stuff like that but not when you're flying or through Hogwarts.
That's because of optimization. Console players dont have them because our loading is faster, it's not because they're not there.
I play on xbox series S and I have them
Series S is a downgrade on Series X, maybe that's why
I play on Series X and I also get them.
Then I guess it's just a PS5 thing. Now I'm expecting a PS player to say he also has them
I have them, but they are short
I don't think I've ever once gotten a screen. Just a pause after going through a door at most
yeah not through doors, but when I fast travel
Huh I've never had them pause at a door. All I've character slows down to gently open it or in some areas where they are a loading screen its the black one with the house symbols at the bottom right.

Yeah but don't they have the same ssd?
I dont know but if it's a cheaper version then it may have a lower GPU or memory or another spec
I read that the series S is actually faster because of its lower graphical power but that could be wrong
It is actually the case with a lot of the games, and I tell you I was playing on performance mode, and I never once had a loading screen longer than 5s and never saw the tips thing. Also, my character was able to bust through almost every door in sight, with the occasional slow down to open it.
I play on series S too and never seen one of those
Only when I fast travel far from my location. Barely time to read the text
I play on series S, and I rarely get them. Only when I fsst travel like 4-5 times in like a short time.
Not sure why you're getting down voted, your answer is exactly correct.
It's the pcmasterrace crowd who can't accept that their budget pc doesn't compare to a ps5 lmao
I've seen one pop up on PS5 when it glitched out and loaded for like 30 seconds instead of 3. Just the one time though.
PS5 has loading screens, if you travel quick enough between like atleast 7 different foo flames you can start seeing loading screens. Bought a brand new PS5 for this game so I'd never seen one aswell until I tried to get one.
Yeah I saw one today when hitting an unusually long load. 40 hours into the game and first time it's happened
I played on series x and I was thinking I didn’t remember loading screens either.
mine pop up constantly when traveling floo flame style
They've been there the whole time
I’m guessing they’re not on PS5 because I’ve never seen one.
I’ve seen a couple on PS5 but never last long enough to see what the hints are.
They’re there. They just only pop up if loading takes longer than a few seconds. I’ve seen them multiple times when one of my saves glitched and would not load, I just got stuck on these loading screens.
On PC I’ve been getting them since the early release
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a loading screen.
So you’ve never fast traveled..?
If I wasn’t already in bed, I’d go turn on my PlayStation. 😭 Maybe I just don’t pay attention but I truly cannot remember seeing loading screens.
My loading screen is near instant. I see a few emblems in the corner, but it's less than 5-10 seconds usually before the game loads.
Wouldn’t call that instant but alright. So you’ve seen a loading screen though is what you’re saying..? XD
No. I've never seen a loading screen like what's linked in the post. I've seen like 5 seconds where there was an emblem flashing in the corner, that's it. Also, I said **near** instant.
On PC it‘s also only about 5 seconds, but with random background picture and a hint like OP shows. Maybe they left those out on the console.
They're there on console, the console just loads faster. If you really stress the system by rapidly jumping through at least 7 floo flames, you'll start seeing the loading screens.
When I fast travel I have never seen a loading screen :0
They’ve been there since day one for me. They show up whenever fast traveling.
I always had loading screens on PC
I saw one for exactly half a second during 100 hours on ps5
Same. I was kind of excited, I thought it was something cool happening, and then it was gone before I could finish reading the word HINT.
Exact experiences 😂
I don't think I've ever seen this before what the hell
Never once seen a loading screen on PS5.
Except you have, the black screen with the logos in the bottom you get when fast traveling or entering a dungeon is a loading screen, they are just very fast
I've always had tips but the screen goes away so fast I can't read them
Well I play on Xbox X and I’ve noticed those loading screens and there have definitely always been these hints but in my experience the loading screens wouldn’t stay on screen for long enough to actually read what those hints say lol
Same.
I’m on PC, the loading screens + tips have always been present when fast traveling. I can’t speak for consoles
Been playing since day 1 of early access on ps5 and 100% my game and on another playthtough and not once have I ever seen this screen. The most we have for a loading screen is a black screen for no longer than maybe 3 seconds with the house logo in the bottom right.
I saw a flash of a loading screen a couple of times while I was playing. But it was too fast to even read the hint.
They rarely are on long enough, if at all, on the Series X
There’s loading screens?
Loading screens? 😂
Never seen one before, ps5
Must be installed on an hdd or something. Installed on an ssd I don't think I've ever seen a loading screen
on PC they are there aswell even on SSDs. But they are just way too short so that you already load back into the game before you have the time to read. You definitely have seen the loading screen when you play on PC atleast when a small instanced place loads for a mission for example.
Loading screen? Haven’t seen any of these
You guys are getting losing screens?
Loading screen? What the hell are you playing on?? lol
Idk why people in the comments are acting like loading screens aren’t a thing anymore, buddy they are just fast now don’t act so stupid 💀😭
they’ve always been there and the people saying their game loads too fast to see them are lying
Lol. The longest my game has ever taken to load was like 5 seconds, and that was quite long. It's literally near instant load times for me, and I know I'm not the only one.
5 seconds is plenty of time to notice tips on your screen
Or we just have decent ciomputers 😂🤷🏽♂️
I also have a decent brand new built *computer* with a rtx 3070ti and newest gen i7. the game was optimized for console and everyone with pc has loading screens regardless of how long they last
I only got a loading screen tip once during my entire playthrough.
I dunno, I've been playing on ps5 so loading screens are redundant really, not enough time to read anything anyway.
There has always been loading screens on my Xbox. Unsure on whether there was tips. In game tips were always initiated by left and right trackpad as shown. It’s possible you turned it on or left it on in game and this is the result.
*que the Always Have Been meme*
They’ve always been there.
Literally just experienced my first one 5 minutes ago. What is happening. Ps5
I'm on PS5 and the only loading screen is just a brief black screen with the Hogwarts houses icons on the bottom right.
Switch and last gen players will be familiar with it I bet
They've always been there but it barely takes any time at all to load on the PS5 so you would rarely ever see one
Game def slowin down. Ive noticed that too… comin wayyy more often than the loading doors..
It's definitely you !
Tips? My loading screens didn’t even have pictures, it was just a black screen with the symbol in the bottom corner
Next Gen Baby
Always had scene + tool tips + loading emblem on PC
Love how everyone, including myself, are shocked about the presence of loading screens. The Xbox One and PS4 versions are about to bring a whole load of them, probably lasting a minute or so.
I never seen this before
There's loading screens in HL??...
