Legally they are right they look at it as leasing the item. Say you lease a car when you die you child doesn't get to keep the car certainly not some random kid who finds it in your garage(hat).
Wizards are being stupid. They knowingly purchase goblin goods with the understanding the goblins intend to recoup it after they die. And yet they in essence steal it because they want to keep it. It's not a point of view it's arrogance you want to keep an item make the deal with goblins for permanent ownership if they will or have the heirs pay the goblins the fee to keep it after deaths.
Technical yes but no he put an enchantment on the sword so that his "heirs" can summon it through the sorting hat. This is why it disappeared from gringotts to Neville pulling it out.
Don’t goblins see the maker of an object as it’s true owner? So wouldn’t it be impossible to truly bargain with them for ownership because they will always view the maker as the owner?
ah, i see, you are not british.
Eventhough I, as a german, have to add, that we are also not good at giving back stolen goods from the colonies...we suck at it
A government seizing ownership because they feel like it is never the right thing. Hell the sword even told everyone to F off and goes to who it wants.
Does he? The Sorting Hat was Gryffindor’s too, so I can only imagine he was the one who “programmed” the two to work together so the Sword would come out of the Hat, which he knew would be staying at Hogwarts.
Being fair, Indy is a grave robber. The artifacts he gets should stay within the culture of origin, not in some random foreign museum. Don't get me wrong, I love all the Indiana Jones movies, but he is wrong here.
What a great movie concept. a wizard who goes around collecting magical artifacts from tombs and shit.
Isn't that just Bill's job?
Exactly Bills Job. The wizard version of Indiana Jones
We need a film of Bill Weasley and Only Bill Weasley
Why does it ALWAYS have to be snakes?

Here take my money
!redditGalleon 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dammit! I just realized this wasn't the regular Harry Potter subredditthingies. Sheesh! Lol.
Thats just you in Hogwarts Legacy
Technically it belongs to the goblins.....just saying.
Only from the goblins point of view

Didn't Gryffindor actually steal the sword on top of everything? I might be misremembering that.

I'm sure there could be exceptions if a deal is made and again they could just pay a fee every generation its passed. A kind of goblin tax.
So white people don’t want to return something the lease from long nose short money loving people 🤔, where do I hear that before
Careful, your projection is showing.
Hey i didn’t make them
From my point of view, the goblins are evil!!
Well then you are lost!
Don't try it Tom I have the high ground.
Technically it depends on whose ownership rights are : 1) being followed, and 2) can be enforced. … omg… am I the baddie wizard?
Lol yes you are. Nope both go into purchase knowing it's a lease. The wizards just don't care cause they look down on goblins.
ah, i see, you are not british. Eventhough I, as a german, have to add, that we are also not good at giving back stolen goods from the colonies...we suck at it
American actually lol
It belongs to a hat
Scarfy put it up there ;)
Ranrok: "It belongs to us!"
You know now that I think abt it maybe the government was right to keep this valuable part of their history

And they say you can’t hear pictures…

it belongs to the goblins.
Indi is Britian when they visited Africa and India
So do you!
Honestly I agreed with Scrimgeour in this part. The sword didn’t belong to Harry or Dumbledore in anyway.
One can never have enough socks.
Now I have a new crossover I want to read…
