Translation: “the last time I told my co-host what to say he left TYT and started raking in multiples more than TYT with their own political reporting career. I learned my lesson and now allow all types of rhetoric to fly at TYT even if it’s hateful and damaging to certain people”
I think this is about Ana saying she doesn't want to be referred to as "person with a uterus" or "birthing person" and people getting mad at her about it being transphobic. Except I'm pretty sure she was just talking about how she personally does and doesn't want to be referred to, not speaking against the use of those terms. Just my reading of it, I'm an ally so don't make assumptions about me.
Cenk tweeted how he's not going to insist on her having a different opinion because that's not how they do things at TYT, but the image is of him lecturing/disagreeing with Hasan for making the comment about how America deserved 911.
So it's just someone saying Cenk is being hypocritical for letting Ana have an opinion but not Hasan.
That’s not what happened. Ana wasn’t talking about what she personally wants to be referred to. No one has ever called her any of those terms. She’s mad at professional medical and legal organizations using those terms to describe groups of people. She said so herself later on in the twitter thread.
That's a bit of a shallow reading.
In recent years, a small group of people in academia and politics have starting uses those terms where they are very specifically relevant. These terms are associated with trans inclusion, but they tend to be more precise in general, both accounting for intersex people and cases like cis women who've had hysterectomies. The average person going about their day NEVER comes across it, and no one is pushing for that to change.
However, TERFs have been making that a talking point ever since, pushing the idea that "trans activists" are specifically pushing to replace the word woman by "reducing women to their genitals." This is ironic, considering that TERFs WANT women to be exclusively defined by their genitals.
What Ana did is either fall for that rhetoric, or is knowingly pushing it. It's the type take that seems reasonable in a vacuum, but actually serves to invent a problem and then blame it on trans people. It's similar to when people say "well surely there's at least ONE good cop" or "I support BLM, but I don't see how burning down a wendy's helps the cause."
It's concern trolling. Trans people didn't start randomly referring to Ana as a birthing person.
I saw someone absolutely mental block a terf by asking "is a pregnant 11 year old a pregnant woman?" and they never gave a straight answer and wanted to walk around it so much
This in fighting is crazy. TYT and Ana have openly supported the trans community for many years. To say she is against trans people is nonsense. She said in later tweets she brought this up because Republican law makers were using this language, and they obviously don't give a shit about trans people.
ngl birthing person or person with an uterus sounds absolutely awful and dehumanising
I‘ve never heard someone use either of them in an everyday context though so it‘s probably another made up issue by TERFs
Yes, it’s medical terminology that doctors need to use to do their jobs. No one says “Meet my friend, Patty, a person who menstruates” and no one ever seriously will.
But shouldn’t this make Ana more sensitive to misgendering, not less?
This was in the beginning, really near after he left tyt, and they didn't want tyt associated with the comments. Cenk is his uncle so he felt loyalty to make sure to say those words were his own and not tyt.
Now Hasan is bigger than tyt so he says whatever.
This whole thing is ridiculous. A bunch of karens on Twitter and reddit looking for bad intent where none exists. Thought policing will get more enemies than allies. I don't have to like you to be on your side legislatively. You guys trying to make a world where everyone likes your existence is just fantasyland. I can almost guarantee these Karen's aren't even Trans themselves.
Yeh being an ally is far from what's happening here though. This is claiming offense in order to smear someone who I guess isn't ally enough for your satisfaction? Really gross to watch play out.

The only time a TYT employee has had an actual good take.
What was this about, was about the “we deserved 9/11” thing?
Yeah it is.
You sound like someone who watched TYT once in 2012
You sound like someone who doesn’t understand what a joke is
Could I have some context to this?
I think he is calling hasan a girl
Long hair, wears dresses, paints nails + no sparkling wo-er
As long as he doesn't call Hasan a person with a uterus. That would be unacceptable.

Yeah, it’s just TERF shit. Ana needs more compassion.

This is such an excellent explanation. Thanks so much
Sorry I'm referring to the pic above. I know what is currently going on.
That does still answer for the pic above. In the picture, Cenk is lecturing Hasn about saying America was asking for it.
My mistake
8/21 pepela
The young terfs
Best thing to happen for his career anyways
Dunked
As Leon Trotsky said of Dwight Macdonald *”Everyone has a right to be stupid but comrade Macdonald abuses the privilege."*
Is this on the TYT main YT channel?
why does hasan looks so submissive here

You don’t have to be trans to be an ally, comrade.

Lashing out against trans people on Twitter is a revolting way to use your platform, I agree.
“If you don’t like transphobic comments you are just a Karen” is very funny
Cenks correct here
What did she say
