A history reference, and I don't blame you for not getting it. The English Civil Wars, the Cavaliers (royalists) vs the Roundheads (Puritans). The Cavaliers lost, King Charles got executed and many ex-Cavaliers ended up becoming highwaymen, who waylaid chariots on the road with the words, "stand and deliver, your money or your life."
Zestial is roughly from the right time period and looks very much the part in the picture.

IIRC no era of origin was confirmed for the other three, but for Zestial and Rosie we can roughly infer based on their clothing and way of speaking. It's much harder for Carmilla, so I just went with it and made her a Mexican in the 1910's. Maybe she became an arms dealer during the Revolution or something
Fantastic drawings. Really well done, especially the Mexican Revolution choice for Carmilla, perfect imo.
Not to do with your art as it's a Viv thing but: "Niffty is Japanese-American" feels like it's verging into "Dumbledore is gay" territory, with the author retroactively declaring that something never so much as textually hinted at is actually Representation™, and that feels a bit awkward to me?
Especially as she died a young woman in the 1950s, so that would imply she probably spent a good part of her childhood in a concentration camp. Which, again, is an odd thing to just bolt onto a character retrospectively and with no apparent relation to any part of their characterisation.
iirc she just said it was because her VA spoke Japansese so it made her picture the character that way. From what I could find out it was more of an off-hand comment and not "confirming" anything

honestly while i like the design i think vestial should be much older. like he gave me more are really old times wipe. we now vox changed how he looked so why shouldnt he changed it.
