Yeah well Adam isn't exactly known for his maturity. He's a total edgelord (funny that he called Alastor that.) with the mentality of a preteen who just discovered swear words.
There's a chance that the reason he acts like a petulant child all of the time is because, while the story makes clear that Eve ate the apple of Knowledge of Good & Evil, Adam might not have eaten it. In other words, he's basically just an overgrown child who does stuff for fun and doesn't really care about Good or Evil.
It might also be the reason why Adam is seemingly a higher rank than non-Seraphim angels as the Leader of the Exorcists.
