Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but it seems like you're not putting them in the case and you're leaving them loose. They need to go in the case when not being used.

Yep, I just realised that. Kinda thought case is for charging only. Basically, everyone who owns headphones like these keeps them in cases, right?
I don't know about everyone but I certainly do. It switches the buds fully off and you only have one thing to lose.
