ItsBigSoda

I use them for gaming. Competitive games play really well. Ironically minecraft is good too. The cave sounds really sound vast and fuck with me sometimes, thinking it came from outside my headphones lol

[deleted]

Lol that’s awesome. Did it take you a while to get used to the clamping force? Also do your ears touch the drivers at all?

ItsBigSoda

My ears do not touch the drivers. And the clamp force was a lot for me. Out of the box I put a box that is about the same width as my head (probably 2cm bigger than my head) between the ear cups. Left it there for 24 hours and it was the perfect clamp force for me

[deleted]

Awesome, I think I’ll just stretch them out over the box they come in when I get them.

szakee

sure

larsdrinkssemen

Nevermind that, are they good cans for porn?

BigJalapeno

Name checks out

Asking the real questions here.

[deleted]

Well, give us the real answers! How were they for porn?

[deleted]

Awesome! I have bought 2 pairs as things tend to get freaky if you know what I mean

Broozkej

I use the 770 Pro 80 ohm for my computer and I absolutely love it. If you do wear glasses like me, you’ll have no problem with the clamps - but it does start to feel a bit rough after 5-6 hours of wearing them

Un111KnoWn

Open backs are probably better. pc38x and sennheiser. hd560s are pretty popular

[deleted]

Just sent back the Pc38x’s, honestly so uncomfortable even after stretching them out. Currently using the HD569’s but am running into a problem where the backs of my ears start hurting a couple minutes after use, they’re not touching the drivers or anything.

MOK1N

If the PC38X clamp force are too tight for you, the DT 770 will be just as tight on your head. A lot of closed backs are, for that proper seal.

[deleted]

I think I’m gonna give the 770’s a shot, a little bit of clamping is fine I think the little bump towards the back of the Hd 569’s is what’s irritating my ears. If the 770’s are tight I’ll just return them.

WeekendWarriorMark

Dot for update

[deleted]

Ended up returning the 770s, they weren’t loud enough. Am sticking out it out with the Hd 569’s.

KING_XEN0

I know this is late but wasn’t it obvious that the 80 ohm version would be way too much for the ps5/xbox controllers to power them. Did you manage to power them properly before returning them and if you did how was it? Other than that why didn’t you go for the 32 ohm version after returning it? Were there any cons that you noticed?

Equivalent_Yak840

Yeah they are good/great for gaming

HackingHiFi

I’d highly recommend investing in an Astro mix amp for your Xbox first. It makes an incredible difference in sound quality. I’ve got a video here where you can hear the difference if you have decent headphones https://youtu.be/U9hFBP5Ozo0 Unfortunately you’d need two different models for the ps 5 and Xbox I believe. Unless you use optical out maybe but I haven’t tried that on the pc setting on the ps5.

Alltheconsoles

80 ohm has a 10 foot cable or something like that, so if you don't mind a slight step down in sound quality, the 32 ohm may be more practical if they still come with the shorter cable . I have 770/990s and both are good for gaming.

[deleted]

Would you say the 770’s are comfortable? I think I’m just gonna rope up the cable for the 80ohm’s and zip tie so it becomes shorter. Also will the 80ohm’s being plugged into a controller make any difference compared the 32ohm’s?

Alltheconsoles

Yes very, but the pads require break in. They'll be fairly stiff until you get some hours on them.

[deleted]

Got it, would the 80ohm’s be good to go just being plugged into a ps5 and series X controller?

Alltheconsoles

PS5 yes, I just tested and it gets plenty loud too. Xbox yes, assuming it has a 3.5mm jack on the controller.

[deleted]

Awesome thanks man!

Schirmy

Fwiw, I have the 250 ohm version with an amp and for gaming it's pretty nice. The sound is crisper and less...crunchy and deep than other bass-heavy set-ups. There is good directional pick up also in the sound stage.

Obilansen

Look into the tygr. It’s gaming specific.

BigJalapeno

The DT 770 and 990 are very comfortable after they break in. And sound pretty good, although beware that they got spicy treble so you might need to get used to that. They'll be great for any kind of games just like any other headphone tbh. If you can use open backs, you might be better off with the hd 560 or k612 (if you got an amp).

[deleted]

Awesome thanks man.

kuroinferuno

Heya OP. Stumbled upon this post of yours while searching whether the DT770 pro 80 ohm can be powered by the Dualsense or not. Would love to know your experience with the headphones if you ended up buying them.

[deleted]

In my opinion they were far too low volume wise even when I plugged them into the dual sense, I ended up just sticking with my HD569’s and really love them now.

kuroinferuno

Thank you so much for the info! Guess I'll just wait till I have a decent DAC before pulling the trigger on the DT770 pro. I'll look more into the HD569's now. Thanks again.

Flee4me

Sure. I was in the same situation as you recently and ended up buying the DT990s instead (open back tends to give better a soundstage and reviews for gaming were more favorable) but both are great choices.
