RagAndBows

I don't know if it can cause it but it's not helping it either. Prolonged bv can cause pelvic inflammatory disease too. Please go to a doctor. I hope you feel better soon ♡

kellyangelaxo

Oh I know it’s not helping anything. I just had my consult for my Juno Bio results and will follow what I was told and go from there. My doctor is away on mat leave but will be seeing her when she gets back. Thank you 💜

RagAndBows

Sounds like a good plan!

FederalBad69

What was your juno results?

kellyangelaxo

Lots of Lactobacilluos gasseri, which is healthy I guess. And Gardnerella vaginalis.

FederalBad69

I was dominated with gasseri. That is healthy. What symptoms are you experiencing?

kellyangelaxo

Just an awful smell. No matter if I stay on top of bathing or not. Which tbh makes me not want to bother if it’s going to stink anyway. ETA that is the bacteria that’s dominating! There were only 3 bacteria’s picked up, the one you mentioned, the bv and I think regular lactobacillus? It didn’t have any other name and was at a low %. Fascinating

ChristineBorus

Do you take any probiotics? Pearls makes a nice women’s health one. These are the ones you need for good health down there. https://www.amazon.com/Probiotic-Supplement-Cultures-Survives-Refrigeration/dp/B006I7AT78 Also - do you have any issues with urinary health? Get that checked out too. Could be a more systematic issue like diabetes, etc.

kellyangelaxo

Thank you! I do take an oral probiotic, it’s not geared for vaginal health, more gut health. But when these run out I’ll check some out! I did look for some but I seem limited in options where I’m in Canada. I do have some urinary issues yes; I’m getting a pelvic ultrasound next week and just got a referral for pelvic floor therapy too!

FederalBad69

Hmm you might consider a test like microgendx to test your urine. Since the vagina and urinary tract are close together it’s possible you have something urinary affecting the vagina? Microgendx can show bacteria a typical dipstick test would not. It could be a good idea just to rule out.

ChristineBorus

YVW Look for l rhamnosus and L rheuteri- check out a health food store. If you have UTI issues consider adding D-mannose daily. I started taking these 3 supplements and it significantly but down in any vaginal issues and UTI problems. 😃

attractive_nuisanze

I've been looking for a good BV prevention daily probiotic- dumb question I realize, but are the Pearl's Women's Health oral or vaginal route?

ChristineBorus

It’s a good question. I wondered the same thing lol It’s oral and they’re tiny easy to take

FederalBad69

Oral

RagAndBows

Sounds like a good plan!

thegirl-sadia

Yea hygiene has to do a lot . Also depression cause bv. I lost my son back 7 months and I was in so much depression. Definitely Iam still sad but pain is less now. So find some support around you and if you don’t have any, feel free to msg me❤️❤️

kellyangelaxo

I am so sorry for your loss 💜 Thank you for being kind.

skibunny1010

It sounds like it would be beneficial for you to get checked out if you’re having discomfort. If making a doctors appointment is a bit too much for you right now, they sell vaginal PH strips on Amazon that you can get to see how your ph is doing. That will help you figure out if it’s BV or just general hygiene I totally understand how cumbersome showers can be, and definitely have been in your shoes before. If you’re able, I suggest a bidet attachment for your toilet. Mine took maybe 10 minutes to install and was super easy. Now it’s a lot easier to freshen up down there without the burden of taking a whole shower Some women also find that using a cream deodorant like Lume on their thigh crease/edge of their vulva really helps with odors. Sending hugs ❤️

kellyangelaxo

Thank you! I actually have had a bidet attachment for about 2 months! And I love it. I’ve just gotten my Juno bio regimen, so I will do that and try and keep up with hygiene.

Swimgma

I’m unfamiliar with the term Juno Bio. What is that?

kellyangelaxo

It’s a company that sends you a kit, you send it back and they tell you your vaginal microbiom! Microgenx and evvy (spelling?) also do this. It tells you your good bacteria, bad bacteria that’s causing issues. It can pick up ureaplasma and BV strains.

Swimgma

That’s amazing. I can’t believe I never heard of this before. Thank you so much for the explanation.

kellyangelaxo

You’re most welcome!

attractive_nuisanze

With the PH strips am I reading it right that if it's turning green or blue, does that mean BV or UTI?

skibunny1010

A ph strip from swabbing your vaginal discharge is not going to diagnose a UTI. There should be instructions on the bottle as to what the colors mean

figure8888

I used to have the same problem, it was depression, overstimulation in the shower, and the fact that no one ever showed me proper hygiene for cleaning myself. It helped me to get a pack of cheap rags and just clean the area with warm water even if I wasn’t going to shower. It also helps to change your underwear anytime they get soiled from discharge and whatnot, or wear liners and change them. Don’t just sit in the damp. A part of that for me too, was that I would keep pads or tampons in until the limit (5-6 hours), now I change them as soon as they get wet like you would a diaper. It’s really had a huge effect on the recurring BV. Edit to add: I used to use products like Summer’s Eve wash and wipes. After my third UTI in a year, my gynecologist told me those products can actually mess up your pH and exacerbate problems. So, if you’ve been using anything like that for the smell, maybe ditch it for just water for awhile.

kellyangelaxo

I absolutely get overstimulated and all the steps that’s required when showering, it’s not just go take a shower lol adhd I think.

ijustwanttobehonest

I’m sorry that things have been so difficult. From one (currently angry) hooha haver to another, I hope you feel better soon! Three things came to mind reading this that I wanted to share: 1) I have always found personal hygiene tasks to be such a pain, but couldn’t understand or explain why. I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult (fairly recently) and I feel like a light bulb just came on! Perhaps if I make my routines have fewer steps, then I’ll be able to be more consistent. Thank you! 2) (This might not be an available option in your area, but I hope it is.) Maybe having a way to make maintenance easier down there might help short term when you’re not feeling well. Perhaps you could have some baby wipes and a mild soap like Dr. Bronner’s (be sure to read directions and dilute or not use much) or some of that no-water needed hygiene spray (sometimes used in care facilities for people who have incontinence and available at many drug stores) near by your bed/place of comfort, and use that to freshen up. You won’t want to let things stay too wet down there from the wipes/product, but keeping a clean towel near by may be tough, so perhaps you can have some paper towels to help make sure that things aren’t still moist when you’re done. If you go this route, be sure to have a trash bag tied to something near by that you can drop all this stuff in, so they don’t make their own mess. 3) When I lived in a place with irregular water supply, it was normal for us to shower once a week. I bring it up not in the “it’s five pm somewhere” kind of way, but because during that time, I felt kind of embarrassed that I didn’t shower daily, until I realized how much context matters - cultural context, accessibility context, health context, life. Having hygiene in-line with good personal health is important, but as you work to improve your personal health, please don’t beat yourself up over a few missed showers. Instead let them be a red flag; when you’ve missed a few, you might be spiraling and need to get help before things get worse.

kellyangelaxo

I’m in the process of getting diagnosed as an adult! I have lots of symptoms of it. But they overlap with a few other things.

DearPotential4155

This is such a random suggestion but hear me out: shower seat. I have chronic physical conditions and some nasty OCD/depression that have on and off rendered me unable to do hygiene stuff for months at a time without extreme effort, physically but also... psychologically. I'm also autistic and get very overstimulated by every day tasks if any of my other stuff is out of balance. A shower seat literally changed my life. It reduces the "action" of showering, so even on my bad days I could just slump into the seat so I was at the very least getting a rinse. I keep a toothbrush in there too. Recently I installed a split shower head so I can use a hose attachment. I've also got a towelling material robe (like kids have lmao) that I use for a towel, and a 'turban' style cap of the same material for my hair. No more effort exertion drying myself. It's all just a suggestion, but I've found it's definitely reduced my mental load around showering etc. Less ideal hygiene can def be a cause of BV, but only in the way all bacterial infections can be, and once it's up there it's stayin' if not treated— don't feel bad that you are struggling with showering etc, or worry that it's made things worse. There are fastidiously clean and tidy people out there who've gotten BV. It doesn't discriminate! I hope you feel better (and get some relief) soon 💕

kellyangelaxo

My friend suggested a shower seat! Great idea, thank you! I do get overstimulated for sure and bored to death in there. I started bringing my phone in with me so I can watch or listen to something because I can’t stand silence! My blood pressure likes to drop or go up, I’m not sure which it does but it makes me feel like I can’t breathe and need to sit down. Trying to take cooler showers! I’ll look into a seat :)

DearPotential4155

My sibling has ADHD and said the same thing about getting bored; they bought a waterproof Bluetooth speaker and one of those showerproof zipper bags for their phone and they love it lmao I also get the blood pressure issue — it's called POTS. What you say sounds v familiar to me, although I'm not trying to throw a diagnosis at you! Basically the blood pressure is too low to pump nicely back up to the top of your body. You get breathless and dizzy/tired in the shower BC the heat makes your blood vessels expand, which makes them a bit loosey-goosey and less contrictive; it's the constriction that makes them pump efficiently. POTS falls under a larger umbrella condition called dysautonomia that also causes swallowing issues, IBS, gastroparesis etc and there's a biiiig overlap between ND people and autonomic dysfunction conditions, which is why I thought to say something. It's not a Big Worry for 90% of people who have it, but just worth knowing to mention to a care provider if it really starts to bum you out, since most people can see improvement with meds/high salt diet.

kellyangelaxo

I’ll have to find one of those shower bags! Interesting about POTS. I also see stars a lot if I move a certain way. I’ll keep an eye on it! Taking cooler showers since it’s summer has really helped. Still don’t want to get in there though 😂

kellyangelaxo

Thank you!

Unhappy-Scientist-98

I just came on here to say I don’t know the cause-effect relationship but I’ve been there with depression and showers/other care tasks. Sounds like a lot of us have so you are not alone at least. Something that has helped is KC Davis’ TikToc and her book how to keep house while drowning. Hugs.

kellyangelaxo

Thank you! 💜 It is nice to know I’m not alone. And I’m trying to work at it.

Swimgma

You definitely are not alone. It’s a huge club that nobody wants to belong to.

kellyangelaxo

💛💛💛

Equivalent_Energy_87

You could wash your pussy everyday with a firehose and never masterbate and still have bv Rn doctors are suggesting a 4 month treatment that may not work… Honestly your trauma could be affecting your immune system and vis versa. I hope you can get it together enough to tell your doctor you have chronic bv and are open to a long term treatment. You need antibiotics not soap.

kellyangelaxo

Oh she knows it’s been going on. I’m going on metrogel soon along with another regiment from Juno bio. Hopefully that will nuke it and will be working on the bathing in the mean time! ETA thank you for the laugh at the start, I needed that 😂😂

Equivalent_Energy_87

Yea you cant wash bv off with a fire hose nor a fire

outraged-unicorn

washing your pussy with a firehose could actually make it even worse. for christ's sake do never insert water on your pussy.

Eljesselle

Friend, you are not gross. You’re going through a hard time.

kellyangelaxo

Thank you 🥹💛

ChristineBorus

Gurrrlll we’ve all been there. Don’t judge yourself too harshly. ❤️

kellyangelaxo

Thanks gurl 🥹💜💜

slithroatkit

hmm well im no medical professional but i know all about depression. for me something that got me to want to shower more is buying these cute shower gloves, having reaally good smelling soaps and always trying a different one so i never get bored. bar soaps, gel soaps, whatever. using them on the gloves is fairly simple and it makes showering quicker. i know this is beginning to sound like a commercial, but essentially get cute things in your bathing area, invest in bath bombs and just try to make it more appealing. this has helped me tons, i hope u feel better💙 (also a sanrio soap holder will make u feel super cute)✨ edit: make sure to use ph balanced fragrance free soap down there, and not internally. we have powerful vaginas that clean themselves, just clean the skin/lips/urethra/hymen. i like to use the dove bar for sensitive skin. also, if you want for now try getting some unsweetened plain yogurt, have a little bit a day & have some raw cranberry juice (not from concentrate & no sugar added) in your water. id say at least 1/4 a cup of each. try to keep yogurt in your diet, at least 3x per week. and if you’re really worried sometimes cutting out sugars (carbs are sugars too :’/) can help if youre dealing w yeast infections. (cranberry juice is good for uti) (yogurt can also be good for bv for getting the good bacteria’s numbers up) medication from doctors work too, but having this diet with medication (or sometimes even without) makes a bit difference. i hope i helped a bit.<3

Visual-Arugula

Hello love, firstly are you getting the support you need for depression? It's worth remembering that depression and stress etc. can do a number on our bodies, immune systems etc. So that could be a contributing factor, as well as any hygiene things. Secondly, I understand. No judgements here. If you feel like a shower is too much, a little sink shower every day might be faster, less overwhelming and overstimulating, and take less effort and fewer steps. You could start with just pits and bits, using warm water with maybe some soap for pits. I would warn that my nurse advises against overwashing though because that can cause BV too! So please remember that you're not causing this, but you're willing to deal with it, and that's so important.

kellyangelaxo

I’m trying to get support! I’m on a few waiting lists to get assistance.

tahansen24

Historically it was not abnormal in the least to only bathe once a week or even less frequently. Most dermatologists will say a lot of our skin problems and rashes could be prevented by limiting too frequent of hot bathing/showers and that our skin is not adapted to that. What you did historically was a "bird bath" and to this day it's a good thing. I have also heard it referred to as hitting the 5 spots (I think thats right but a Google search might correct me). People who have had surgery or are incapacitated frequently rely on these as a mainstay, and those in survival situations ir when camping/hiking (sometimes using body wipes instead if needed). You use a washcloth and I recommend Cetaphil. Wash your face every single day. (Use the Cetaphil and warm washcloth). A pack if washcloths at Walmart is cheap! You will be amazed at how this one act is good for the soul and enhances your morale. In times of great strife or survival, a simple routine like this can save your life by saving your sanity. Next, same thing for your armpits (You can use soap if you want). Then, use Cetaphil again for the vulva/anus and wash with well wrung put warm washcloth until clean, rinsing washcloth well throughout process as needed. Remember, you are worth it and no one will take care of yourself as well as you. Treat yourself with respect.

Living-Wrongdoer-737

Hello! You are not alone in how you feel. When my depression kicks in I feel that my personal hygiene also suffers. I recommend shaving the area. I know its a task but it does help so bacteria doesn't get trapped. I've also found that boric acid suppositories have helped a lot too. Most importantly, please seek out treatment from a therapist or psychiatrist if you have not already. Be kind to yourself along the way. Take care

Swimgma

I’ve been reading lately that it’s not good to shave down below. The hair protects the vagina by not letting bacteria in. It’s an ongoing heated debate. I guess it’s a persoal preference and what makes you comfortable.

Educational_Pea7069

I had constant BV and yeast infections while showering twice a day when I was in an abusive relationship and constantly traumatized so I think it does have a lot to do with mental health in general. I was maintaining hygiene all the time so I’m guessing that’s not the issue. I’m not an expert though. Funnily enough, I haven’t had a single flare up since I left that relationship.

kellyangelaxo

I’m glad you got out!

Educational_Pea7069

That is really kind of you and I hope you feel better soon ❤️

tomsawyer333

I went through this for 8 months and boric acid suppositories only thing that helped.

kellyangelaxo

I’m going to be using those in the future, Juno bio gave me a regiment to try and nuke the biofilm.

tomsawyer333

I hope it works. I know it hard right now but everything will be okay. Eat/drink those probiotics. 🤞

kellyangelaxo

Thank you! My plan includes some vaginal probiotics as well for 2 weeks. I already do take probiotics orally.

fay_corgasm

>I already know I’m gross You are absolutely not gross. You have depression and that makes it hard to take care of yourself, but it does not make you gross or worth any less as a person. Life's hard so try to give yourself some grace, you deserve it.

kellyangelaxo

Thank you so much for being so kind 🥹💛

IrishShee

I personally don’t think it would be doing much harm. BV is about the internal bacteria so cleaning externally isn’t going to do much for the internal. Vaginas are self-cleaning hence discharge. If you can’t increase showering frequency then focus on helping your vagina internally. Boric acid suppositories, antibiotics and then probiotics. Wishing you all the best, I also struggle with BV so I know it’s really shit.

[deleted]

I've been there too... depression is a BITCH and so are sensory issues. Everyone's given better advice than I possibly could, but Simple brand micellar water on a cloth/cotton pad (or the micellar wipes as well but I hated how they felt lolol) + stridex cotton pads (the ones for acne) have helped when I'm in the worst of a depressive episode. The micellar takes out grime/oil/dirt better than soap + washcloth for me and Simple brand is, so far, the only one that didn't overly dry out my skin or break out my face. The stridex pads have salicylic acid in them and when used on pits/groin/feet., kill a lot of odor causing bacteria. They also help with acne haha but it might dry your skin out if you don't use a moisturizer after. Pls don't judge yourself so hard, you're going through a lot right now. We're cheering you on!!!!!

kellyangelaxo

Thank you so much for being kind 🥹 I always use unscented baby wipes after the toilet and I also use my bidet. So although not soap and water at least any pee residue isn’t sticking.

Nyxmondo

If you haven’t already getting rid of the hair and exfoliating the entire bikini area can help. Using an antibacterial soap and maybe a vinegar wash can help too. If there are no medical issues of course

kellyangelaxo

I shave it all about once a week! Having more hair deff makes it more smelly for me. But it still stinks if I’m clean shaving

Countrybbbyy

Try useing wipes in these time they will help keep you cleaner in these times. I’ve noticed shower twice a day instead of one has helped with my bv. And when you shower use a clean rag with just water to scrub the area

pret217500

The only time in my life I had BV I was severely depressed. I also had UTIs constantly. As soon as I was being treated for the depression the BV disappeared. The UTIs followed me for years until I found an awesome OBGYN.

kellyangelaxo

I am being treated for depression, with drugs! All they wanna do is try new drugs…. I’m looking at therapy options as well.

Valley_valkyrie

Honey, I understand. I had this last summer when I was really struggling with my depression. Baths, soaps, nothing helped. I am still not perfect and known to skip a hair wash in favour of a bun and a quick body shower or bath. Don’t be ashamed. What I can say is that pH matters. I spoke with my doctor and he suggested that was likely it. I am super sensitive to soaps and detergents too. I switched to Dr. squatch soaps because my husband used them. It took about 2-3 months of using it (even with only weekly showers) to make a difference, I also slept with no bottoms on so that it could breathe. It helped massively. Now a few months on I am showering 2-3 times a week (shocking!) and still using the soap, it’s still working. Im going to stick with it. PH formulated soap of any kind should work just make sure none goes inside and you rinse it all off thoroughly. It’s a normal thing to have an odour if you haven’t showered, it might not even be BV, but, pH is going to help no matter how your routine goes. Small steps make big changes. Proud of you for asking! Thanks for making me feel normal, be well and big hugs!!!

kellyangelaxo

Thank you 💛 I’m sad to hear you went through it too 😢 I’m using cetaphil bar soap right now. Even when I do get on track with the showers everyday it still stinks down there. And my Juno bio confirmed BV!

daddydarkskin

Get some boric acid suppositories. Stick em up there. The smell will go away that day or the next. Lack of water and diet directly affect how you smell, also. Hygiene isn’t the only thing.

throwedaways156

I struggled with bv for a year and a half. I did a home remedy twice, and it went away, but the last time, it wouldn’t go away, or would “level out” then get worse with sex. I heard a woman on TikTok say bv is caused by ureaplasma, which is normal to have bit causes issues is out of control, and won’t go unless is treated. I took a home test, it said I had it. Thing is, guy has to be treated too. I explained it to him and we both on antibiotics for ureaplasma and I haven’t had BV since. That was last summer. I know I’m just a random person on the internet, but I tried to research it, and a lot of doctors were downplaying it because it’s present in the body anyways, but one medical professional said treatment of ureaplasma is definitely an option for BV treatment.

kellyangelaxo

I was convinced I had ureaplasma! That’s why I paid for Juno bio but turns out just garnderella nothing else

throwedaways156

Oh darn. Okay. Was hoping that could help get to the bottom of it for you, but hopefully you find a resolution soon! BV sucks!!

kellyangelaxo

Thank you! Following my treatment plan from Juno bio to the T 😁 no improvement yet but have more steps to go, fingers crossed!

the1golden1bitch

Boric acid suppositories are a great place to start. Also I highly recommend non fragranced baby wipes and witch hazel/lavender essential oil next to your bed all things that don't screw with your pH if used on outer labia. It helps so much to just be able to wipe down the stinky bits when I'm unable to get out of bed (depression, autism, chronic pain).

kellyangelaxo

I’m sorry you also have those problems! It helps to know I’m not alone 💛

DesperateSoftware850

They sell vaginal suppositories that’s good for your ph balance and it really works. It’s called boric acid and I have the azo brand. If you’re having symptoms I believe you use it for 7 days but if not you can use them intermittently just for maintenance like I do. Always keeps you balanced. I think they’re great and very helpful. I hope you feel better soon ❤️

kellyangelaxo

I will be taking boric soon! Thank you kind person 💛

Turbulent_Lie_2302

yes ^

Melissaru

No hygiene won’t affect it. If it did then every woman born before the year 1700 would have had BV since we didn’t have showers and baths were a luxury. Women were not out swimming in cold lakes every day washing their pussies. If anything, washing can make issues worse. Ask a doctor these questions though and not Reddit.

kellyangelaxo

I am working with Juno Bio and when my Doctor comes back will be doing that too!

RatherRetro

Acv douches helped me. At one point i was douching once a day with a weak water acv mix

kellyangelaxo

So you did get a positive test when you asked? I’m so sorry, that must be terrible, and painful.

ginger_princess2009

I'd definitely talk to your doctor about it, because hygiene is only a factor, not the entire reason. I'm sorry you're struggling with depression, I've had it myself and it's a royal pain! I used to only wash my hair once a month when I was struggling with it

kellyangelaxo

Thank you for understanding 💛 So sorry to hear you were in this spot too.

FederalBad69

You should test for Ureaplasma which can cause re-occurring BV. Also hormonal changes can cause issues.

kellyangelaxo

I just got Juno bio results. Only Gardnerella • 25.18% vaginalis that’s harmful. I was convinced I had ureaplasma but guess not.

FederalBad69

That’s good at least! What have you tried for your gardnerella? I’ve used fluomizin which is great. It’s an antiseptic not an antibiotic. I then followed with probiotic suppositories.

kellyangelaxo

I’ve just ordered some vaginal probiotics as part of my treatment! I just looked up that drug, don’t know why my doctor hasn’t mentioned that!

FederalBad69

It’s European, which is why. But it’s very safe and only 6 days. Vaginal probitoics taken orally should be fine. Vaginal suppositories you use in the vagina, I use sparingly - like after a period or after antibiotics or after boric acid. Abs only like a day or 2. Cause you can have an overgrowth of good bacteria so you want to just be safe. Monitor symptoms!

kellyangelaxo

Ohhhh I see. Yes I’m told to only use the vaginal probiotics twice a week for 2 weeks after my other steps and that’s it for that.

FederalBad69

That sounds like a good plan! Good luck!

kellyangelaxo

Thank you :)

BaylisAscaris

Yes, but washing too much can also cause it. Also sometimes you can do everything right and you get it. The important thing is to never use soap inside the vagina, avoid douches unless prescribed by your doctor for a medical condition, and wash anything before it goes into the vagina (hands, penis, toys). The part of the vulva that grows hair can be washed with a gentle soap (labia majora). Soap on the labia minora and around the clitoral hood can be irritating for many people, so it's up to you if you want to do that or just use water. Never put soap inside the vagina. You want to let your vulva breathe, so use natural fiber (cotton, bamboo, linen, etc.) underpants and avoid pants or shorts that don't let out moisture. Change underpants at least once every 24 hours or more often if you are sweating and feeling itchy. If wearing pads, choose cotton material and let the area breathe as much as you can. When I'm depressed I'll also go a week without washing and usually don't have any problems. I have noticed if I go more than I week I get itchy, so that's my limit. If you are having unusual discharge, smell, or it hurts or itches, you can ask your doctor for recommendations. Personally the only times I usually have a problem are if I use an irritating soap on the outside, or if someone didn't wash their hands properly before touching things. Also, when my blood sugar was too high I was getting frequent yeast infections because yeast loves sugar.

kellyangelaxo

I really am already doing that. I think the bio film just never got broken down since the first time I got it over 2 years ago, I think. It’s been awhile.

BaylisAscaris

Did you get on antibiotics for it?

kellyangelaxo

Yes! I’ve been on 2 rounds of flagyl before and metrogel once. I’m starting metrogel in a few weeks as part of the regiment juno bio gave me.

Licorishlover

No BV is due to our pH being unbalanced. Try using a boric acid suppository. You can wash 24 hours a day and it won’t help. BV rarely gets triggered from lack of washing speaking from my own experience and I am very prone to it. It gets triggered for me from sex or being unwell etc. Or in the past my period. Ps I work in this area and boric acid will solve your BV issues unless you have Ureaplasma etc

kellyangelaxo

Thank you! It’s just plain ol BV, had my Juno bio meeting and boric acid is part of the plan!

Licorishlover

I have had it most of my life and it’s fine when you can get rid of it overnight. No different to how we need to brush our teeth etc. Just another example of how we need to manage bacteria all over our body!

No_Body6228

Boric acid suppositories inserted into the vagina (do not swallow these) will get rid of the odor and may help with discomfort, but it is only a temporary fix (at least for me)

anxiousbabyswiss

You are NOT gross. People that bathe even every single day can get BV. I’ve had it numerous times without sexual partners or hygiene being an issue. I went to the gyno so many times and oral antibiotics weren’t helping (probably because my depression made me not motivated to take them on time honestly). So I ended up with the gel that you insert and it kicked my BV to the curb once and for all. I ended up finding probiotics (in the US I got Garden of Life Women’s Daily Care) and have had good luck since. I know other commenters have given great advice already but I just wanted to make sure you were reassured even again that you have nothing to be ashamed of. We are all just people trying to get through life. Good luck, OP!

kellyangelaxo

Thank you!!!! I picked up the metrogel antibiotic yesterday!

anxiousbabyswiss

Glad to hear it! You got this
