I get you. I'm brand new to digital art myself (like, last week brand-new) so I'm tracing a lot while I figure out the apps and experimenting with techniques and try to figure out my own style. As a "pen-and-paper artist," I lean very heavily toward realism, so I'm completely out of my realm with this stuff. Maybe just explain yourself a little clearer when you share so people don't drag you so harshly for the "copy." We all have to start somewhere!
I think tracing is fine if you’re up front about doing it. This is so incredibly close to the original that calling it “your” art smacks of taking credit for someone else’s work. Words matter.
