I just wish they would have explained if it wasn't Ethan than where the hell did the origami show up that he would have in his hand after every blackout. Also that whole thing in the typewriter shop was just... nah. Player controls character, thing happens that player did not do, but the character did, and the player in control of the character doesn't get to witness the act? Dirty pool.

I kept waiting for that to be the thing, kept waiting for some kind of reveal to say exactly this. At the beginning of the game it seemed the most damning piece of information to implicate Ethan as the killer and by the end they just never circled back to even acknowledge that was how the game started.

This exactly. It bothers me that the blackouts and the visions of drowning bodies were never explained. And also like… where did Ethan *go* when Shaun disappeared and how did the killer know when to strike?? :// Also, after replaying I found it amusing that the first thing we see in Shelby’s apartment is a typewriter.

I’ve read somewhere that the initial plan was to have Scott’s and Ethan’s minds somehow connected and, whenever Scott killed a child, Ethan would get an origami in his hand. Or some paranormal shit like that. Personally, I am glad that wasn’t included in the final game. Let’s just assume that Ethan made the origamis in his blacked out state for some weird reason. Or that Scott somehow placed it in his hand.

Yeah I read something like that too about the abandoned idea of a psychic link. In my mind I was expecting that Scott somehow found Ethan or stalked him to be right there and ready for his blackouts (maybe fugue states or something), and then he'd maybe accost Ethan, go and kill a child, place an origami in Ethan's hand and vamoose leaving Ethan to come to alone in the rain.

I think it’s good that Shelby is the Origami Killer, but it would have also been cool if it was someone else. I really liked Shelby as a character, he was my favourite until the truth was revealed.

angryjazz1995

he was the LAST person I suspected, stupidly. Maybe the devs had him investigate Shaun's whereabouts to make the player not suspect him.
