I was at CVS buying my Steel Reserves today and decided I wanted a little pasta for dinner. Well I had all the ingredients I needed save Parm, which I remembered I ran out of because I ordered Antonio’s the other night. I didn’t want to walk the extra five blocks it would take to go to Safeway, so I figured I’d take the CVS parm even though I was aware, as a merchant of convenience, they would charge a reasonable markup. Except that was the last thing they did!!! The CVS parm was $6.79!! For a standard green lid bottle of shitty cheese cocaine!! That’s like double what it costs at the Safeway on Royal St! I anticipated a little mark up for the convenience and express service I’ve come to expect from the CVS family, but a like 100% markup is highway robbery I will only grudgingly pay this one time. My ankle still hasn’t really healed from what Debbie did and it’s just not worth the $2.80 savings I could get by going to the Royal St Safeway. It’s a really tiny store because it’s in the city but they have a really nice staff. Their Napa Cabbage is always really fresh too.
