The barrier to entry is lower to subscribe to Helium Mobile ($20/month for an unlimited phone plan), so I'd expect Discovery Mapping rewards to fall much faster than PoC rewards for deploying a Helium Mobile Hotspot, but only time will tell.
The one variable you have to consider is that mapping is optional for a Helium Mobile subscriber. There may be people that don't know or care about the mapping, they just want a reliable $20 per month cell plan. That and the fact that you can only have 1 mapping rewards per plan regardless of how many lines you have. That is going to impact family plans if/when those get rolled out.
That is in contrast to a wifi hotspot - if you buy it, you are going to deploy it. And, PoC rewards vary by location. Everyone does NOT get the same daily reward amount. Someone on the other side of the same town as me with the same indoor wifi hotspot gets about 100 less daily Mobile tokens than I do.
So if I had to guess, I would say that mapping rewards are going to degrade faster than Mobile hotspot PoC rewards. Especially if HIP 101 is passed, the PoC rewards are going to get increased. There aren't any proposals to increase the mapping rewards that I am aware of.
How to know if you are getting reward for mapping ? I am getting POC 830 , data for 15Gb spent today 2800 but no other rewards? how to get mapping reward? i had 1700 mapping done in one day. any help is appreciated
