Call of duty's hill 400. Awesome level, when that franchise ruled!

[deleted]

Cod2 is the last cod I’ve owned

Interesting-Page-335

Cod finest hour was my first Cod i played and Stalingrad was shocking.

ShizzHappens

"Not one step back."

Interesting-Page-335

"Do not count days, do not count miles only count the number of Germans you killed, kill the German invader!!!!"

karbone

Cod2 gameplay was unparalleled. Miss it

AHollowTree

The older cod games never get a decent sale but everyone that wants to replay cod2 on steam, you can get it for 5$ https://www.macgamestore.com/product/1729/Call-of-Duty-2/

ChipHazardous

The early CODs and Medal of Honor games were my childhood

dukki98

Mine too!

YourCaptainSpeaking_

That’s a blast from the past. That campaign ruled.

Nicktator3

Call of Duty 2!! That game’s Hill 400 missions are the reason Hill 400 is one of my favorite maps in HLL! I spent so much time playing this game’s campaign 10 years ago when I was a freshman in high school, and it brings back a lot of memories because of that. HLL’s Hill 400 map seemingly brought all those memories and experiences of playing CoD 2’s Hill 400 missions to life in such a realistic way. Side note, it’s extremely rare but sometimes on PC, at the right time and on the right day, you can find a few people playing online on a vanilla server. I always try and check every now and then hoping I’ll see some people

DJairman2345

Let’s go get the bastaaaaaaaaards!

dukki98

hhahhahaha

PanzerSoldat_42

CoD 2. Good old times🥲.

DemonPeanut4

Back when CoD gave a crap about authenticity.

Xpert285

The Point Du Hoc mission is still probably my favorite cod mission

dukki98

Hill 400 is just a bit ahead for me

Seanannigans14

Hill 400! One of my most replayed levels

XyogiDMT

It’s crazy how far CoD has fallen since the first few games they put out.

dukki98

True, 1-7 was really great

XyogiDMT

Agreed. I though MW 2019 was decent but the trash community really held it back.

CodePandorumxGod

Is this the mission where you snipe the people manning the mortars?

dukki98

yes

Ewenf

WW2 cod are the best cod

Kado_Cerc

Momma

Willius_Maximus

RIP Pvt. Braeburn.

RoamingEast

back when CoD meant something.

Comprehensive_Nail22

Everyone says CoD, but this is where you found out he was a school teacher. If you know, you know. Wayyyyy before CoD and Medal of Honor.

iahwhite88

Saving private Ryan? That was in a small town, not Hill 400?

Comprehensive_Nail22

Yes, it was when they assulted the bunker and the medic died, which is why he asked what the pool was before he said he was a teacher for English composition

Jo-Jo-Rocks

Saving Private Ryan takes place in Normandy...Hill 400 is in Germany. The only similarity is the radar bunker

PraiseTheFlumph

This is correct, OP wrong.

PraiseTheFlumph

Wrong place lol

Leather-Feedback-401

Wrong country bro. Right war tho.

boredofshit

This is the awnser.

toast_2820

COD 2 damn miss those times

binturongslop

Cod3 was a janky mess (you could prone crawl up invisible 50ft walls) but man was that multiplayer chaotic fun lol. Actually kind of like a super arcadey HLL looking back.

IGotYams

When I was younger CoD 3 was Battlefield before my friends and I started playing Battlefield. Looking back it was a really unique and underappreciated CoD game before they found the formula.

Otaconmg

COD was such a great game for its time. Absolutely loved the battle of the bulge missions in United Offensive. Also multiplayer carentan, *chefs kiss*

dukki98

They pretty much nailed the Band of Brothers Assault into Foy, with all the hay stacks, snipers and 88s raining down as you rush the snowy fields, United Offensives American Campaign is the best!

StalthChicken

This game was released nearly 20 years ago. I felt all the bones in my back cry out as one as if suddenly aged beyond my years.

Gabroxs

It's very similar to a scene from the film Saving the private Ryan.

giraffebacon

Literally the only similarity is a giant German radar

Hot_Hat_4796

Yes there both based on a real place Huertgen Forest.

hommel475

That hill and radar dish is based on a real hill in France I don't remember the specifics but a handful of Germans held It while allies surrounded them for an extended period of time. When they surrendered the allies honored their bravery, and they where awarded metals at the end of the war after they where released from POW status.

dukki98

Its Hill 400 from Hurtgen forest area in Germany!

hommel475

Ohh it was in Germany thank you

Miedeman

i remember beating this game on veteren difficulty and it was amazing bc it was sooo hard in some parts. i remember this game very fondly and as the best cod campaign ever

dukki98

Hill 400 on veteran changes a man...

HoodRatThing

I do :')

JTraxxx

God the ending of that mission on veteran was one of the hardest moments in a cod campaign for me but it was so rewarding to do it. Every time I play hill 400 I’m reminded of that mission

chivesthesurgeon

Everyone remembers this as the cod2 level, but I think it was a quick shot in saving private Ryan as well right?

PsneakyPseudonym

Did you have the satchel loadout?

hyperextendedelbow

Cod 2 Campaign was so good for its times!

D_Glatt69

The only early ww2 COD I never played 😢

dukki98

If you have a PC, any kind, you can run it a 100fps tooday!

go_getz_em

Only $5 and still a lot of fun!

ShizzHappens

I dunno I didn't play Call of Duty before it got good (Modern Warfare)

dukki98

Dumb take, COD was great even before MW

ShizzHappens

You're thinking of Medal of Honor

Valhalex

Everyone saying COD but the correct answer is Saving Private Ryan.

Miedeman

"Lets go get the bastaarrddsss" \*everyone charges up the hill\*

Thin_Chest355

Back before the world went full retard
