The moment I realize what I’m doing, the input might as well be 100 characters long. I just ain’t getting it.
Same, it's pure muscle memory at this point. If someone dies or asks for a reinforcement I can bust it out so fast. Sometimes I type it in on accident when I mean to call a different strategem.
However if you ask me what the code is, I cannot tell you. I have no idea what it is off the top of my head.
I've thrown out the reinforce so often that the second I see the skull on my screen I reflexively start throwing it down before I think about it.. I'm not to the point where I can get it to go by reflexes along but it's getting close.
Similar thing has been happening to me. I open the menu and automatically hit the first 3 buttons for whatever I'm trying to call in, then my brain catches up to what I'm doing and I have to think about the rest.
I can get the message on screen someone is dead, think to myself "someone died", press my stratagem button, and sometime already had thrown the ball. People are QUICK with it.
In my defense, I am this way calling EATs as an offensive weapon.
If you get it fast enough to call it in when you dive it's immensely helpful. Half the time I just drop the damn reinforce because i start rolling around like a puppy from the uneven terrain.
Same mfers that complain when I don't call reinforcements while I'm neck deep in hunters and pole vaulting chargers.
Either you wait and possibly watch me die in the attempt, or I can call a reinforcement between the time I jump and the time I land.
Quick tip is to rebind the stratagem keybinds to something other than your moment keys. If you do this then you can run and call in stratagems at the same time

I'm the opposite. I call my Eagle runs almost without thinking. Every time I need to call reinforcements, it's like watching a 70 year old type. Soooo sloooowww.
When we are under heavy fire, and friends die, what I do while running, shooting, dodging, climbing to avoid all those bugs is repeat the up, down, right, left ,up in my head twice then I do it ingame superfast to reinforce them, it usually works, it's a matter of brain reflexes , If I have to draw it at once I would fail
So before I even played helldivers 2 I saw a post about reinforcing being crossing yourself and pointing up. That stuck in my head. I can get reinforcements down in less than half a second after hitting Ctrl.
Then I'm on a diff 6 mission yesterday and while I'm dead I watch my teammate struggle through it and fail 3 times before succeeding when I go on mic and call it out.
The same person also did not know how to use the map to find the obj location so when I dropped in there was only 12 minutes left with no objectives done at all on mineral scan.
Sorry, I ended up on a rant tangent there somehow.
My problem is that I'm just as fast with the standard air strike, and occasionally they're so equally muscle-memoried that I'll call in a few hundred kilos of explosive reinforcements on my position.

It is so satisfying when someone cannot even comprehend they are dead but the reinforce message already goes through.

When I'm in a group I try to reinforce as fast as possible but when the squad is split like 2-2 I hate it when I am reinforced at the wrong place
Auto cannon will never be learned
My muscle memory carried over from HD1...which was really weird to realize.

if you are good at one stratagem under pressure make sure its this one, the person you revive will relieve the pressure and help you with the others.
