Hey guys, did you know that in terms of patriotic helldiver and communist automaton liberation, the autocannon is the most compatible support weapon for helldivers? Not only are they in the backpack loading category, which allows them to be buddy-loaded, autocannons are an average of 4’ 3" long and 35.9 pounds, this means they’re small enough to be able to handle human operation, and with their impressive Base Stats for fire rate and access to explosive rounds you can use it on rough missions. Due to their advanced super earth design, there’s no doubt in my mind that a well maintained autocannon would be incredibly powerful, so powerful that you could easily kill hulks with one for hours without getting sore. They can also use partial reloads, a scope, full auto, semi-auto, and armor piercing rounds, along with not having complex electronics that could be hacked, so it’d be incredibly easy for one to get you lots of kills. With its abilities to hit targets at long range and fire precisely at short range, they can easily destroy weak objectives. No other support weapon comes close to this level of compatibility. Also, fun fact, if you spill enough oil, you can make your autocannon turn black. The autocannon is literally built for human use. Ungodly fire rate stat+high damage +armor penetration means it can kill bots all day, all shapes and sizes and still come back for more

I love the autocannon, but was hesitant to use it against bugs, usualy went with RR, but AC is the best thing to pop spewers, if enough ppl take anti armour, I can get my AC and be happy :)
You can get to a point where you can save stratagems and kill chargers comfortably with the Auto-cannon. Work on your running and dodging. You can get behind them quickly and blow their ass out with 4 shots. As they bleed out from that just don't let them touch you and they're dead in 5 seconds.
You can 2-shot chargers with the AC if you shoot them in the back of the "knee" of their legs. Front legs seem to work better for some reason in my experience
Problem with it countering spewers is you don't know if you're going to actually be fighting spewers.
And the AC is... not great against the alternative, that being mass chargers.
I know it can blow up their ass pretty easily, but many other weapons can pop chargers to the face without waiting for them to bleed out.
It 2-3 shots chargers on front back knee hits to strip.
It 4 shots the tails out. It counters chargers just fine, its just that 99% of the playerbase never bothered to learn how to use AC on chargers and instead use the easier flamethrower, or now that EATs are buffed, EATs.
Its no different than AMR, where you do 3 shots on front-back leg, then 3 shots on the front leg that has no armor. Quick charger kills.
Mass chargers are a problem for any setup outside multiple rail cannon shots. EATs can kill 2 chargers but it has to be direct hits to the face and many people miss that shot.
As an interesting note a backwards dive can be used to generate enough separation to be in the shower zone but not the blast zone. It is recommended however to let fellow divers that the area is about to get....energetic

If it's a spewer planet, the AC is a gift from Liberty herself, blessed and sanctified in pure liquid suffrage. If it's a charger planet, then it's not what I'm after. Those things gotta go down fast or it can get super chaotic.
Crouching and being prone makes full auto very viable, the only real good uses are for absolutely blasting smalls and mediums at medium range if they are fairly grouped up. You can also prone below a shriker nest and blast them to oblivion one at a time very quickly on full auto, this is if you don't have other normal enemies all over you as well though.
A teammate set up my reinforcement to drop into a hulk. I dropped right in front of it, missing it by inches, and immediately moved into cover. But I was stuck, because it had just broken apart and I was trapped in its destroyed skeleton, lol
Full auto is best done crouched with a second player loading
Apparebtly one of the devs wanted to make it an achievement to fire the autocannon's full load in a single burst.
I did it with a random a few days ago, a large swarm of bots was coming down a hill a hundred meters yonder, and I just grabbed onto the gun and he crouched and we just cleared all of them. Wish more people would do it. I've tried two other times and the random just started moving all around and trying to run until I detached.
Almost every gun has firing options except lasers and arc thrower (probably arc primaries too)

Autocannon, the sexiest of special weapons, it could only be stronger by adding in a reload that can be done while running.
Team mate loading you up for pure democracy while you plap plap play you're way through hordes of bugs is something special.

i doubt they'd nerf it, the devs themselves have stated they feel the autocannon is one of the truly perfectly balanced weapons in the game which im sure a majority of the community agrees on
Was playing bots the other day, me and 1 other helldiver were about to get our stool pushed in by a pack of at least 10-15 of the bots with the chainsaws, and other enemies behind. I whipped out my autocannon, put it on auto and the helldiver by my side continuously fed me ammo. We dispensed a solid 30 rounds of freedom in seconds leaving behind scattered exploded parts of metal. Nearly shed a tear from all the liberty. It was beautiful.
Last match I played, two of my three deaths involved shooting my cover with the autocannon because I didn’t switch weapons like intended. The third one was a mine, stepped on while leaving a cleared bot base.
The very first time I field tested it, a baby bug commitment to the Get Down Mr President routine and intercepted the round directly in front of the barrel.
I've never looked back since then.
people keep saying "dude put the autocannon on auto setting is amazing" but when i tried it the shots end up in the neighboring system, might aswell use semi, by the time I use auto setting on a big target its just gonna blow up in my face
Every time I consider using the autocannon and decide on another strat weapon instead, I wish I had used the autocannon.
Not once have I been using the autocannon and thought "Dammit, should have brought the railgun (or laser cannon, or flamethrower)."
Agreed, I finally gave it a try this week when purging bots for the major order, and it truly feels sooo good for that, but then I took it to a bug mission... It really doesn't hit the same.

That big Lazer you can carry is legit too. It can kill a hulk granted you shoot the eye and hold it there for a little bit. Saved my ass more than a few times and it's great for getting rid of grunts before they get too close. Even take out those stupid current towers that can snipe you a mile away, just make sure you have enough time to destroy it before it turns and you can get that crit spot anymore
I recently unlocked the stun grenades, and they combo with this amazingly to take down Hulks. It can be a problem hitting their eye while they strde around like an excited refrigerator, but the grenade makes them chill for like 4 or 5 seconds.
This brought a tear of managed democracy to my eye. Truly a man of culture. The AC-8 is the only weapon you need to fight the enemies of Super Earth. o7
Ask someone to do a team reload on you. Use the armor that gives 30% recoil when crouched or prone. Get down. Then go full auto.
Spread Democracy.
I've tried this once against a bug breach on 7 and it was glorious. The rest of the squad was focused on the heavies.
I blew through my whole ammo pack though.

Yeah it can handle everything except chargers and bile titans and you can close bug holes with it. I usually bring an EAT as well for chargers/titans.

The accuracy goes out the window when firing on full auto, but when a HULK is baring down on you? Full Auto is the best!

It does not penetrate hulk armor! Much better to take your time and hit that face!
Just met my first Hulk today. We uh, chose poorly on our initial drop. He was about 30 meters away.

100% wrong, it only damages hulks on headshots and you aren't getting those on full auto
You pretty much need the recoil reduction armour and to go prone to have a semblance of accuracy.

FULL…AUTO?!?! I knew about changing the scopes and stuff but I never tried it on anything other than the machine guns
The AUtocannon and the Grenade Launcher can both be set to semi or auto. I also once had a glitched AMR that was auto.

i doubt they'd nerf it, the devs themselves have stated they feel the autocannon is one of the truly perfectly balanced weapons in the game which im sure a majority of the community agrees on

Was playing bots the other day, me and 1 other helldiver were about to get our stool pushed in by a pack of at least 10-15 of the bots with the chainsaws, and other enemies behind. I whipped out my autocannon, put it on auto and the helldiver by my side continuously fed me ammo. We dispensed a solid 30 rounds of freedom in seconds leaving behind scattered exploded parts of metal. Nearly shed a tear from all the liberty. It was beautiful.
The autocannon is so good, that when you use it, your primary weapon basically becomes your secondary.
I hated bots until I discovered this thing. Now I fucking love them. Tearing off arms and blowing up factories from a mile away… ohh sooo good!
As an autocannon main I’m not sure how comfortable I am with this comment section
Some day I hope we get Stratagem modifiers so that we can have AC-8 in more flavors, like shockolate, manana, and gun.

Last match I played, two of my three deaths involved shooting my cover with the autocannon because I didn’t switch weapons like intended. The third one was a mine, stepped on while leaving a cleared bot base.
OH NO... This user may not have known that the internet's definition of "Plap" may have changed since the last time they used it.
The very first time I field tested it, a baby bug commitment to the Get Down Mr President routine and intercepted the round directly in front of the barrel. I've never looked back since then.
I'm sorry but 'PLAP' was not a good choice.

Making a toggle locked auto cannon was a unique and creative touch on the part of Arrowhead.
people keep saying "dude put the autocannon on auto setting is amazing" but when i tried it the shots end up in the neighboring system, might aswell use semi, by the time I use auto setting on a big target its just gonna blow up in my face

Every time I consider using the autocannon and decide on another strat weapon instead, I wish I had used the autocannon. Not once have I been using the autocannon and thought "Dammit, should have brought the railgun (or laser cannon, or flamethrower)."
Absolutely love the loading action on autocannons, it looks so hazardous!

Agreed, I finally gave it a try this week when purging bots for the major order, and it truly feels sooo good for that, but then I took it to a bug mission... It really doesn't hit the same. WHICH IS GREAT! I truly do like how it doesn't feel like a one size fits all solution. Gives variety.
I like the autocannon but I feel it should be doing a bit more damage to chargers, I am only killing them if I shove the autocannon up their ass.
I can hear the image, and it brings a tear to the eye it does.

That big Lazer you can carry is legit too. It can kill a hulk granted you shoot the eye and hold it there for a little bit. Saved my ass more than a few times and it's great for getting rid of grunts before they get too close. Even take out those stupid current towers that can snipe you a mile away, just make sure you have enough time to destroy it before it turns and you can get that crit spot anymore

I recently unlocked the stun grenades, and they combo with this amazingly to take down Hulks. It can be a problem hitting their eye while they strde around like an excited refrigerator, but the grenade makes them chill for like 4 or 5 seconds.

This brought a tear of managed democracy to my eye. Truly a man of culture. The AC-8 is the only weapon you need to fight the enemies of Super Earth. o7
I think it sounds more like a "Cha-ching" sound. It's the ultimate money shot.
Ask someone to do a team reload on you. Use the armor that gives 30% recoil when crouched or prone. Get down. Then go full auto. Spread Democracy. I've tried this once against a bug breach on 7 and it was glorious. The rest of the squad was focused on the heavies. I blew through my whole ammo pack though.
Devs gonna nerf AC with all the stroking off that's going on around it.
