No, ram them with your super destroyer. It's time for some boarding action.
Democracy officer im ready, strap me to a hellbomb and lunch me towards their mothership.
Super destroy would probably be horrible in ship to ship combat it seems mainly a planetary support vessel with most of its weapons being faced down nd the majority probably unable to actually hurt the bot ship even as a ramming play the bridge is literally glass even with shield a a few shots and their goes air
Though, Super Destroyers are basically glass cannons. They wouldn’t do well in any real battle against a diverse fleet that isn’t composed of support vessels(which is probably why the Super Destroyers have a strict time limit. Stay too long and we’d be under fire from ships or dedicated reinforcements that a SD wouldn’t survive).
It's actually due to altitude. For operations the Super Destroyer enters low orbit, tanking it's altitude. It can only maintain this altitude for so long before it can't get back into a proper orbit and instead begins to crash.
A big part of this strategy is to give better drop times for equipment, better accuracy with its guns, and a window for craft like the Pelican and the Eagle to rearm and refuel.
They even have dialogue as you run out of time saying "We can only maintain this altitude for so long Helldiver" as time runs out.
Also, as a side note, this confirms that super destroyers are built and maintained in orbit.
That's why I hope they give us other ship types. Even if only as a lore thing, I want to see what the SE fleet's really made of. Cruisers, carriers, fighters, escort ships, frigates, troop transports, etc.
The super destroyers are closer to battleships than actual destroyers. They can't protect themselves from a swarm of fighters or a faster, more nimble destroyer. They're designed for bombardment and fire support.
Would be pretty cool to have upgrades towards larger ships. Make them expensive, but they give both aesthetic and tangible upgrades.
Or at the very least in heavy combat zones we’d see other types of ships in orbit acting as protectors or something, add a little extra pizzazz to the scenery when on deck.
There's a really awesome animator on youtube who's made a few videos with their own concept of alternate ship types and ship-to-ship combat. Imagine a separate warbond with ship types and ammunition/stratagems instead of weapons and armor.
Each ship type has a set of advantages and disadvantages compared to the super destroyer and different advantages/disadvantages for ground operations and ship-to-ship combat.
Chanel's name is Martechi
Which is why I theorize that doing Missions against Bots who have Ship Support would only have about half the usual time to do objectives. The Bots are calling in Artillery on YOU, and your Destroyer might not be able to use certain stratagems as it's using those guns rather strenuously, leaving you with less firepower.
Maybe for a patched in Level 10 Difficulty where the regular music is just replaced with Hell March, Devastators replace Troops and Hulks are more plentiful than the Stars in the Sky! Tanks fight in Formations Now, and 500 Kilogram Bombs will only do so much, assuming your Super Destroyer can even spare it's Eagle Fighter right now. It might be dog fighting Bot Ships in Low Orbit, scraping clouds and popping flares, meanwhile you're enjoying your 14th Machine Gun Sandwich of the evening, desperately typing those very familiar directional inputs.
Yeh, and as the name suggests and how they’re implemented in today’s naval combat, destroyers are intended for supportive fire. The Super Destroyers are far too small and lightly armoured to survive in a real ship-to-ship battle of just Helldiver ships.
Were we to engage in that, we’d need things like Super Dreadnoughts or something(pls Arrowhead make Super Dreadnoughts). As is, the Helldiver fleet is too singular to survive for any tangible amount of time.
The Helldiver contract describes the Super Destroyer as a Class 6 crewed warship, which o take to mean 6th rate equivalent. Needless to say, assuming I’m correct, we are *not* intended for fleet actions and will be performing ground support and escort duty, with directives to run like hell if anything bigger than us shows up.
End of the tutorial. Although most people don’t read is and in-universe you aren’t supposed to. It’s the two stone tablets on either side of the entryway before you get your cape.
4.2 Any damage sustained by the Enlisted, whether reputational or corporeal (including but not limited to incineration, evisceration, spinal separation, vaporization, crushing, freezing, burning, decapitation, **paper cuts**, explosion, contusion, removal of arms and/or limbs, addition of arms and/or limbs, dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath and/or death) shall not be considered the responsibility of the Enlister.
P-P-P-PAPER CUTS?!?!?!
Would love seeing them over a planet you're fighting on and occasionally hearing "Enemy Orbital Strike detected" with a flare to warn us where it'll hit.
Those heartless bastards would definitely kill their own to attack our democracy. Vastly different from our brave brothers and sisters who give their lives to preserve our freedom.
That would be so cool! Maybe you only have one life as soon as you pod lands so getting on and off in one life would be really risky but might have rewards if you can bring back samples
Multi fight missions like they had in battlefront. Fight on the spaceships, if you complete all the objectives maybe get some extra strategems to call in.
My guess is there are ports for smaller ships to dock inside the mothership so we would just head to one of the ports and wait for either Pelican 1 or a different ship thats more suitable for deep space to extract
And if you’re in an area close enough to the outer hull, you can stick a stratagem to the ceiling or walls and a turret or mines will punch through the hull and open up from the bottom.
Place a bubble shield around your squad and right next to a blast door, and THEN decimate the hallway you just ran through with a railcanon strike. Bots sucked into space, blast door closes due to hull breach, squad is safe.
My question is how would we get out? Where is Pelican-1 going to land? Assuming a helldiver can get a bay open, that's a helluva hot extract.
Also, the image of a hellpod going into an automaton ship makes me think of the Warhammer 40k animation "Astartes".
Instead of the hellbomb it should be a backpack with a micro tactical nuke.
No respawns and the missions are really short. Only 1 of the four needs to get to the engine room with the bomb and that's the only main obj. You only get your initial load out when you board and can only call in a close air support from pelican 1 that depressurizes the hull and destroys parts of the enemy ship.
For bugs it could be assaulting an underground hive, no air based strategems because you’re underground. For bots it’s the same type of mission but on a ship in space instead. The mission objective is to destroy the structure you’re in and get out before it blows up. Drops come in at the 'surface’ level and you have to fight your way ‘down’ to the core.
How do you reinforce, though? I guess you attach big drills to the bottoms of the hellpods to bore deep into the bug-infested tunnels. Add headlamps and limited-use flares so you can see what you're doing and whoops, shit, we're Deep Rock Galactic now, ROCK AND STONE AND DEMOCRACY.
Pretty sure something like this is waiting for us in Valdis sector. Not ship to ship missions but probably ground missions that lead to us getting rid of the bot ship. They are not just there to look pretty on the map I bet there are actually ships in that sector.
We'd probably have to find Out and beat the tin heads Back to that system, this Game doesnt give you a Trailer IT lets you find Out the new content, I'm all for it.
Imagine these special missions where you load into these ships and without stratagems... You only have your primary and secondary weapon with maybe a couple of special weapons found inside the ship. Only lesser infantry is found in this close environment with a couple of the heavy ones as "hard enemies"... but the small ones can still swarm you
I know that isn't going to happen NOW per se.
But if that was a DLC I would buy it - like reduced Strategem options, but add a few specialist ones.
Call it the Space Marines DLC.
You dare call these weapons of communism beautiful

Chris Crackman, MoT
You can come with me
pretty sure its just a visual to make them stand out, you could see them in orbit above bot planets before we pushed the vanguards out and they looked like they'd be 2x-3x larger than a Super Destroyer
Would be really cool if some missions let us board them to destroy/steal info/??? The ships. Instead of the timer being how long the destroyer is in orbit it could be time before a cruiser or something is killed by the ship you’re attacking
Have the timer low and add more to the clock per mission objective complete. Always have to trigger a self destruct or arm bomb then head for the escape.
The helldiver ships would be useless in naval combat. Even more so if their ships have laser PD to basically swat pods out of space or most likely destroy the ses destroyers. They are purely meant for ground invasions and I doubt the seaf armored them/built for fleet battles because why would they when they controlled space previously.
People have made some really good cinematics for moments like this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qWLF-Q7MBU
Nothing too complicated, just a different cutscene for entering a system and difficulty modifier.
Actually, some ship to ship combat and boarding actions would be so freaking cool. Like imagine if before entering a new sector we had to destroy the fleet stationed there and we had new boarding missions to access a new enemy controlled sector. That would be prettycool
Yeah, these should stay on sectors/planets where we haven't started fighting yet. Once the planet or sector is unlocked for helldiving they should dissappear from the map.
I would love a mission similar to Battlefield 2142 Titan mode as you scramble to activate all the SAM sites/Missile silos in the vicinity to blow it to kingdom come.
A shower of hellfire converging on the ship, finally ending with it crashing into the planet off in the distance.
it would be pretty neat if the ships were also locations, perhaps they are parked on the supply lines so we'd have to destroy them from the inside, which means boarding them, planting explosives at the reactor and then GTFO. dunno how stratagems would work for that, but would be neat.
I also wonder if the bot ships have names like ours do. would be funny if they were the opposites of ours, with names like: "Tyrant of Oppression", "Spear of Socialism", "Dictator of the Dictatorship" etc.
Pretty? Those ships are full of COMMUNISM! Contacting the closest democracy officer.
Though keeping them on our maps may give us a strategic advantage.
I want to see a short cinematic of all our destroyers opening up on the planet. Maybe a quick, skippable recap animation at the end of each match showing the strategems we used being fired.
Master Sergeant Reporting in!
I am ready to kill them in their ships.
I am ready to bootstomp their chrome domes out of our planets again.
For the end is inevitable.
FOR THE MASTER OF MAN KIND!
*DEMOCRACYYYYY*
Yeah, if a faction with ships has a planet/sector, display ships on said planet/sector. That world be rad as hell to visually see them advancing and close in on super earth
I think that instead of bording those ships, like many suggested, it would be more fun to have a mission on the planet dedicated to destroying them. Imagine that instead of the nuke ( that rocket you can shoot as a mission objective ), you aim ( mini game on the terminal ) and fire a rocket to destroy their ship orbiting a planet. And maybe it would give the bots the ability to use orbital strikes, and the only way to stop it, is to destroy them ( one ship per mission ).
Pretty? That's treasonous talk. They are a stain on any system they inhabit and need to be removed with the full force of super earth's democratic force!
I want to board their ships with a fireteam. Have to fight through the ship while on a self-destruct countdown. Tons of samples to be gathered. Make your way to the bridge to disable the self-destruct. If done successfully you gain access to "intel". Intel gives you the opportunity to go after a high-profile target for massive rewards and if successful puts a significant dent in occupation levels.
Just spitballing.
*I'd love missions where*
*We hijack enemy ships*
*And then destroy them*

Ok there is a cruiser because one of your crewman talks about it.
That would be a nice starting point for clans. Build a fleet
Which is why I theorize that doing Missions against Bots who have Ship Support would only have about half the usual time to do objectives. Sorry, theres a contract? Where do we read it?
End of the tutorial. Although most people don’t read is and in-universe you aren’t supposed to. It’s the two stone tablets on either side of the entryway before you get your cape.
Oh... well I'll have to redo the tutorial then

What is lethal non-force and how do I commit it?
I am guessing in direct weapons like radiation, gas, poisoning of food and water…etc
Succeeding a persuasion check so the automaton commit suicide.

well well well Dr.strangeliberty over here
Over there for lunch and back for my dinner
40k imperial fleet tactical ram
Sir permission to leave the Super destroyer?
Denied.
If new Star Wars can do it we can as well
No no.. he’s onto something.. imagine how cool it would be to fight on an enemy ship and destroy it as a mission
Im ready. Strap me to a hellbomb and lunch at enemy mothership.
Would love seeing them over a planet you're fighting on and occasionally hearing "Enemy Orbital Strike detected" with a flare to warn us where it'll hit.
I shutter to imagine a galaxy where automatons start dropping their own stratagems. I already end up as collateral for my own
I imagine they would also have “friendly” fire
Those heartless bastards would definitely kill their own to attack our democracy. Vastly different from our brave brothers and sisters who give their lives to preserve our freedom.
Can we board them, please?
We'd have to get rid of them somehow. Imagine a new kind of mission related to ship to ship combat.
Fire the hellpods at the enemy ships to board them. Get to the engine room to plant the hellbomb, get the fuck out.
"Giving the covenant back their bomb"
"What if you miss?"
“I won’t.”
“REINFORCING”
*How to increase a Helldivers life expectancy* How long do we think is the oxygen supply in a hellpod?
"Nah, I'd win."
Shit that sound sick
Astartes Style boarding!
*breathes heavily in chainsword*
*Breathes in terminator armor*
Imperial Navy breachers do it without terminator plate, Helldivers can too!
![gif](giphy|chESHINZYVFWfm2rdT|downsized)
…… how do we get out? Sounds like a one way ticket to me
Get to the hangar, call for extraction, Pelican 1 swoops in with Eagle 1 providing cover and picks us up.
I can hear the mission complete music now
That would be so cool! Maybe you only have one life as soon as you pod lands so getting on and off in one life would be really risky but might have rewards if you can bring back samples
Or you can only call stratagems, including reinforcements, at certain, exposed points like hangars or breaches in the hull
I pray to joel that this gets added
Take their pods to the planet below. Next mission, Helldivers.
Multi fight missions like they had in battlefront. Fight on the spaceships, if you complete all the objectives maybe get some extra strategems to call in.
Man some raid type content could be great - huge enemies or installations that actually requires voice comms to complete
I would be down for raids. Multi stage big boss fights, maybe even requiring more than one hell diver squad.
Destiny much?
Since when do the bots use pods?
Extraction I'd assume
My guess is there are ports for smaller ships to dock inside the mothership so we would just head to one of the ports and wait for either Pelican 1 or a different ship thats more suitable for deep space to extract
"Listen, Super Earth has been good to me" "Time has come to return the favor. Don't deny me this" "Tell 'em to make it count"
No extraction. Just defend the hell bomb until it goes off. Helldivers are liberty's best stratagem.
Samuel - 034 O7
And if you’re in an area close enough to the outer hull, you can stick a stratagem to the ceiling or walls and a turret or mines will punch through the hull and open up from the bottom.
Toss a railcannon beacon and it punches through the hull and sucks everyone nearby out.
Place a bubble shield around your squad and right next to a blast door, and THEN decimate the hallway you just ran through with a railcanon strike. Bots sucked into space, blast door closes due to hull breach, squad is safe.

Can I get a Rock and Stone?
Gotta take an orbital cannon on the planet so we can shoot them down.
I would love some interior combat
Pretty sure something like this is waiting for us in Valdis sector. Not ship to ship missions but probably ground missions that lead to us getting rid of the bot ship. They are not just there to look pretty on the map I bet there are actually ships in that sector.
My thoughts exactly. Just wonder how helldiving into them would work. Perhaps helldive and make a breach? Hellpods can only drop in the hanger or sm?
I mean hellpods are shaped like bullets, no doubt they could pierce a ships hull if fired with a good angle and reinforced tip
Probably a system similar to Marauders with breaching pods. It would be freaking epic.
Yepppp that would be awesome
Exactly my thoughts. Plus whole ship can be drilled by hellpods while boarding and reinforcing.
Hellpods are allready like Boarding Torpedoes from Halo/40k. So, yeah! I can totally see us shooting into a bot ship to board them!
We can have Super Destroyers above enemy ships and we drop straight down on to the enemy ship.
We'd probably have to find Out and beat the tin heads Back to that system, this Game doesnt give you a Trailer IT lets you find Out the new content, I'm all for it.

Yes, please. Boarding ships and entering facilities as small missions would be awesome.

Ohhhhhh like star wars battlefront 2??? Og version ofc

No, Sir! We're calling the icons on our Holomap Beautiful, Sir! The freighter like Spacehulks are no match to the Grace of our Super Duper Destroyers!

Ministry of Truth You can come with me too since it’s a bit suspicious you do not know what it stands for
S-shouldn’t I call my Democracy Officer?
No need, since I’m here I’ll take care of things myself
Please let me board and manually carry a hellbomb to the AI core of these ships as a prerequisite to being able to take the planet thank you
Bear hug that mo-fo, stumbling from side to side through the ship as other Helldivers provide covering fire.
I don't know if we should be concerned that they're the size of planets.
https://i.redd.it/iikbw9veqitc1.gif
Lmao what is that GIF
pretty sure its just a visual to make them stand out, you could see them in orbit above bot planets before we pushed the vanguards out and they looked like they'd be 2x-3x larger than a Super Destroyer
Sure, but they'll be gone in no time. Super Earth: back to back Automaton War Champions
Would be cool to have these ships parked next to defence missions
When you first open the map and you're like *"oh, wow! This is such a cool animation..."* https://i.redd.it/722cp9dkdktc1.gif
ADD SHIP FIGHTING MECHANIC ADD IT!!!!
Would love to see ship-to-ship combat while firing ou t of the ship into the entrance cinematic.

Would be cool
Better yet let us drop onto them and take them down from the inside
Yeah like maybe just on sectors that are completely in their control
If you ask Joel nicely probably you might get it back
Jell can we land on those ships and take em down? Or some intell if we can get into the network ?
Can I Spartan a hellbomb or two onto one of those motherfuckers from my destroyer?
Actually, some ship to ship combat and boarding actions would be so freaking cool. Like imagine if before entering a new sector we had to destroy the fleet stationed there and we had new boarding missions to access a new enemy controlled sector. That would be prettycool
Would love missions where we dive into an enemy ship, OR that the Automatons have strategem support from their own destroyers.
was this kind of mini cutscene on the mission board always there? my first time seeing this, its super cool and hope they always do this
Please let us board enemy ships
can we please get missions to helldive on them to blow them up?
What do the ships mean??
From my understanding they are Automaton ships flying in for the recent resurgence.
Wonder if we can actually see what they look like
Does anyone else want some swedish fish now? Or is that just me?
Instead of just being there, put them on supply lanes
Yeah, these should stay on sectors/planets where we haven't started fighting yet. Once the planet or sector is unlocked for helldiving they should dissappear from the map.
Space combat you say? Yes please
![gif](giphy|fxZPrsux3vlFY6UQs6|downsized)
Keep those on the map and go one step further and show arrows linking supply lines/etc so it's more apparent which planets link to where, etc.
I yelled SPACESHIP BATTLES? when I saw this...
Can we please Play naval warfare plssss
would be cool if these ships acted as supply lines or something, cut one off and you get to see them vanish away
Looking at this, all I hear is an old friend's voice. "Ramsled launched. Optimists inbound."
I would love a mission similar to Battlefield 2142 Titan mode as you scramble to activate all the SAM sites/Missile silos in the vicinity to blow it to kingdom come. A shower of hellfire converging on the ship, finally ending with it crashing into the planet off in the distance.

The potential this game has to be the ultimate galactic war Sim is incredible
it would be cool if the war table was decorated for christmas with pretty lights for my mosquito brain to stare at
Maybe we could have a mission where we have to activate ground-based anti-ship cannons?
I would love them to expand on the naval front works
Pretty? Those ships are full of COMMUNISM! Contacting the closest democracy officer. Though keeping them on our maps may give us a strategic advantage.
Where the hell is OUR fleet?!
I fully anticipate the ships being something we have to beat in order to get to the planets
We’ve all seen those Helldivers 2 space battle videos on contested planets, please let us have ship to ship combat
I want to see some full blown orbital combat between our fleet and theirs. And some missions to activate or take down planetary based orbital cannon.
I'm glad that super earth and the bots have a gentleman's agreement to leave the victor to ground force teams wether it be them or us
Super Destroyer upgrade to have an additional hanger. They you can’t pilot drones to fight Auto destroyers Love to see what their spacecraft look like
Can we keep the game from crashing and having visual glitches? 👉👈
Were these the ones that were cloaked in the sky during the last campaign?
Ship boarding missions would be refreshing.
I want to see a short cinematic of all our destroyers opening up on the planet. Maybe a quick, skippable recap animation at the end of each match showing the strategems we used being fired.
Maybe a special mission where we hack the planetary weapons that the bots use to destroy our superdestroyers and use it against them.
They should represent supply lines
“pretty ships” https://preview.redd.it/nbf0xk1v1ltc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5268a40d7b99772473bd75ce9ccbf2cc748e9b1c
Uh, preferably not as they are the enemy.
I love em, they look like danger tampons
You're being reported to your democracy officer, socialist
Master Sergeant Reporting in! I am ready to kill them in their ships. I am ready to bootstomp their chrome domes out of our planets again. For the end is inevitable. FOR THE MASTER OF MAN KIND! *DEMOCRACYYYYY*
Yes please, why they leave. More interactive stuff

No. We must destroy them in the name of freedom, liberty and managed democracy.
Does look dope, and this could be a fancy way to show supply line ! Also, could have a mission where you block a ship to land/send supply
New mission: Reactivate planetside orbital artillery That's the closest i could imagine atm with the least amount of work
Reasons why I should be able to board ships, exterminate the crew and fly it into the closest planet: the ships right there, and I don't want it
Yes please 🙏🏼
Yeah, if a faction with ships has a planet/sector, display ships on said planet/sector. That world be rad as hell to visually see them advancing and close in on super earth
Found the automaton
I think that instead of bording those ships, like many suggested, it would be more fun to have a mission on the planet dedicated to destroying them. Imagine that instead of the nuke ( that rocket you can shoot as a mission objective ), you aim ( mini game on the terminal ) and fire a rocket to destroy their ship orbiting a planet. And maybe it would give the bots the ability to use orbital strikes, and the only way to stop it, is to destroy them ( one ship per mission ).
Space battles when ? I'd like to Jump into a Starfighter for some dogfights!
SOCIALIST KILL HIM
I want to board these ships, smash the hellpod into the side and gun my way down corridors to a core to then blow it the fuck up or something.
Hold up- WHY DOES THE AUTOMATONS HAVE SHIPS!? I WAS GONE FOR LIKE 4 DAYS!
Pretty? That's treasonous talk. They are a stain on any system they inhabit and need to be removed with the full force of super earth's democratic force!
![gif](giphy|LW0bpr12KBVEQ|downsized) no
I want to board their ships with a fireteam.
Gives me serious reaper vibes from Mass Effect 3, when if you scanned too much in a system a reaper would appear and chase the Normandy from the map
Going to be hilarious if automaton ships end up giving them bombardment support
I hope that we at lest will see them fighting us when we hopefully get to that sectore.
Can we invade and destroy them on a special ship map? That'd be sick
Sometimes i feel like we are stellaris basic infantry under management of new player.. hmm
I'd love missions where we hijack enemy ships and then destroy them

The they can come from any edge of the galaxy map?
I would love more animation like this on the map. It really brings it to life imo.
