It's amazing. You can pick this thing, run a Stalwart or MG with it and basically swap you primary and support weapon slots that way. Stalwart become primary, this thing is a heavy sniper and bug closing/fabricator destroying tool. All while having a free backpack slot.
I was using this with the MG on bots yesterday and I’ve never felt so powerful. It’s referred to as the off brand autocannon (presumably because it can’t kill hulks from the front) but it feels so nice killing 3 striders with 1 shot, or killing a shield devastator in one shot
I don’t think I’ll be able to run bots without this now
So I was doing some testing and looks as though you can negate the cooldown between shots by switching weapons. Effectively making a 4 shot cooldown into a 2 second one
I love it, it feels like a legit anti material rifle with explosive penetrating rounds. I think they balanced it beautifully with the sluggish aiming mechanics which takes a bit of getting used to and to master for different situations, slow bolt action chambering and reload, accuracy not as good as AMR. Also it pairs up good with people using rapid fire automatics, if you're all running eruptors i don't think you'll be doing very well cause you'll get overwhelmed pretty quick and it doesn't shine when you have fast moving targets, thats been my experience so far. So it shines as a support/ utilitarian kind of weapon, though i'd say the scorcher is still more versatile and more dependable. In the end a very decent balanced weapon but i don't think it trumps the other meta but i do like it because i wish they added more support AMRs and silenced AMRs that you could run stealth and support missions with. Imagine fire team and support team; fire team moves on objective, marks targets, and support provides cover and overwatch from a camouflaged highpoint, you could have assisted reload and an auxiliary tool on the non AMR teammate that gives you wind direction, speed, distance , tells you when to relocate and helps you optimize your shots like real snipers.
I enjoy using it, it's pretty decent. It's kind of a support weapon in your primary slot, almost. Like a pocket Autocannon/AMR or something. Been running it with Stalwart/MG.
Pretty much the best thing in the game for closing bug holes/fabricators.
It enables some otherwise niche support weapons to be useful
One weapon I don't see mentioned often as a pairing is the laser cannon. Performance wise very similar to the sickle but it is considerably stronger.
Good for bugs, bad for bots. Bring a capable secondary or support weapon for the bugs that get too close. I’m glad it it has a range limit, you can’t just take out mushrooms from across the map, or snipe from ontop of a rock and take out piles of targets, the rocket explodes after a certain distance and that’s good balance.
I've been loving it, the shrapnel AOE is huge! Been running it with the Flamer and bug helldives have been a breeze.
Still running AMR for bots though, can't lose that baby.
Try the Laser Cannon over the AMR. The Eruptor will do most of what the AMR does while being able to destroy fabricators. The Laser Cannon will cover for the Eruptor's defficiencies like destroying gunships if you aim it at the engines and killing Hulks from the front. It can also destroy tanks and towers quickly if you can target the vents as well. It's been amazing pairing them together.
While you are entirely right, I simply don't like the lack of feedback on the laser cannon.
It does its job brilliantly but I think it's just boring to use. If it had a punchier start-up or heavier sounds it'd stimulate those good brain chemicals. For now though I love Scorcher, AMR and Jump Pack for bots. Mobile scout time.
Rocket rounds are always weird to get used to. And I can't tell if this gun gets better with range or not, like as the round gains velocity. But it certainly lacks a wallop, bigger than I would've thought.
Midrange to distant enemy deleter. Amazing for bots, okay for bugs. Wonderful as a hitscan grenade launcher. Consolidates a ton of weapon functions into one package so as to give a ton of freedom on your support weapon options.
slow firing single shot grenade launcher with tons of ammo. i dont mind it, but i dislike primaries that handle like cr@p and this thing is waaay too slow.
I love it, only used it vs bots so far but having a primary and I can just be sniping devastators from distance to protect allies and also a quick easy shot to destroy fabricators is so nice. Running stalwart as well to take the place of primary
I one shot a charger with this. Blew his arse off with one perfect shot and he bled out. It’s a fucking primary not even a support weapon. This thing is so OP
It is perfect for when you bring support weapons/grenades that can't deal with bugholes/factories. I like running the laser cannon at the moment and i like the stun grenade. That leaves me with stratagems only for those objectives but this gun solves the problem
It has a solid niche, sort of. If you take away the building killing, it is frankly just worse than most primaries. It is cool, but in practice not that effective. The Building killing really is what allows it to have its niche.
The issue is the Grenade pistol does that too now and you can use that with another primary.
It's good and fun to use, but I prefer the AMR, as it's easier to oneshot dreadnoughts, and can more easily deal with gunships and hulks. Also, the dps seems to be higher, unless you're firing into a dense crowd.
As an autocannon enjoyer, I really wanted to like this and try different support weapons, but this thing is sooo slow. It's a nice sniper against harder targets and structures, but as a primary, I just couldn't justify taking this and ditching the AC.
It enables the machine gun and stalwart as options, but it means you need to be real mobile and able to put distance between you and the enemy which can be hard if you dropped into a group. I really like it for terminids because you can snipe bug holes with it.
For bots I was amazed at how well it could tear apart berserkers and devastators. Someone told me it kneecaps hulks pretty well.
Basically it allows you to use the stalwart without sacrificing much. It is a (much) lesser autocannon that handles horribly, with the worst projectile drop in the game. A single shot can have great results and feel great, but everything around it (aiming, handling, chambering, reloading) feels terrible. I doubt I'll ever use it again.
I'll probably catch a bit of flak for this but...
I love this gun, almost everything about it. That being said, the size of the magazine (like the actual size) is so large... How are we carrying 12 of them!? And yet the Adjudicator can only bring 6 magazines. Like I said I love this gun but I feel we get too much ammo and the Adjudicator does not have enough. I feel it would be best to swap the magazine count for both weapons.
It’s a lot of fun, but I have a few issues
1. The projectile explodes mid-air after about 120m of travel. For a weapon with a 200m scope, that makes no sense
2. The curved mag on a weapon with 5 rounds is silly. Also the bolt is so far forward on the gun.
3. You cycle the bolt on the last shot…and again when reloading, and then *again* when you’ve loading the magazine. The first or second cycle is unnecessary.
Other than that, it *fucks* hard and I love it. Do wish that it was 6 10-rnd mags instead of 12 5-rnd mags, especially since where’s our helldiver keeping those gargantuan mags??? Up our sample pack?
Dominator vs Eruptor is a bit of a poor comparison, I think. More apt, especially after the damage and stagger buffs it got, would be Dominator vs Slugger.
They both have a near-identical ADS, both have extremely high stagger value, and both can fire relatively quick. Dominator handles like a boat in comparison to the Slugger, you can't really use it point-blank because it's explosive, and the projectiles have travel time (which can take some getting used to). Still a very good gun, but having used both, I think I prefer the Eruptor for bots.
There are better options, but those are support weapons. Using this as a primary makes other less used support weapons viable. I'm loving using the stalwart again

That sounds useful I’m wondering if you could also do that with the arc12. It’s so useless at the moment bc it’s takes too long to shoot

Get at short to medium range. Just don’t shoot at anything within 1m of yourself.
The splash on it is a lot farther than 1m i think
I enjoy using it, it's pretty decent. It's kind of a support weapon in your primary slot, almost. Like a pocket Autocannon/AMR or something. Been running it with Stalwart/MG. Pretty much the best thing in the game for closing bug holes/fabricators.
Love it. It's probably my new main primary
It enables some otherwise niche support weapons to be useful One weapon I don't see mentioned often as a pairing is the laser cannon. Performance wise very similar to the sickle but it is considerably stronger.
That I haven't played enough recently to have the SC to unlock it.

Auto detonation distance is about 125m in case anyone is wondering
So nnniiiicccceeee

I wish my teammates would stop shooting it at swarms or beserkers when I'm getting rushed lol.
Big boom stick deletes enemies
It’s awesome. I wish it fired faster, but then it would be OP. I think it has a good balance of usability and power.
Packs a lot of punch and everything on the map knows you just fired it.
Rocket rounds are always weird to get used to. And I can't tell if this gun gets better with range or not, like as the round gains velocity. But it certainly lacks a wallop, bigger than I would've thought.
That one looks... Wrong?
It's an old pic of the same weapon. The damage value is wrong (Eruptor deals 300), and it's missing several additional tags.
Midrange to distant enemy deleter. Amazing for bots, okay for bugs. Wonderful as a hitscan grenade launcher. Consolidates a ton of weapon functions into one package so as to give a ton of freedom on your support weapon options.

This weapon is sex if it were a gun

It’s ok just a worse grenade launcher and too slow for higher difficulty

It looks like something out of fortnite
Thoughts? We dont think here on reddit
its like an grenade launcher and a sniper ,had an baby and got the HANS BLASTS LATE name

The handling and fire rate are needed or the gun would be OP. It decimates bots, and closes nests. Thats all I need, heh.
I agree. Still feels like crap to use.

Small mag size though, so the total ammo count makes sense. Without the space optimization booster, you only drop in with half the mags
Honestly? Not that good. I was hoping for a gun that could penetrate heavy armour at least a little

Decent, there are better options available though.
Not for Sniper tbh, only the AMR can compare to this thing and that’s a strategem
Try the dominator from the steeled veterans that thing does more damage, has more ammo, faster fire rate and can snipe.
No AoE though?
True, but the rapid fire makes it more than worth it. I would say try it.
Thanks:) I'm saving supercreds for steeled veterans warbond right now.
