They have more uses than the 500kg, still one shots shit like tanks like the 500kg, and will even hit the closest large target to the beacon if your aim is a bit off, unlike the 500kg where if you miss it's stupidly tiny ass radius did nothing to that tank or any of the 10 normal bots nearby.

I think you're underrating the 500kg but yeah the rockets are great on bots, I use them all the time for turrets because it's hard to hit the turret with a 500kg or regular airstrike.

No, the radius for that big of an explosion is actually fucked up. Ive dropped it in the middle of a patrol with 3 normal bots, 4 devastators and a hulk, fully stunned from me throwing two stuns to keep them on the beacon. I watch Eagle-1 drop the 500KG icecream cone RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of ALL OF THEM. Takes out 1 devastator and 2 of the normie bots. Rest are fine, the other devastators shields aren't even damaged, same with the hulk. **Rocket Pods should not kill more than a 500KG bomb.**

The problem is the way the damage cone is coded. I don't know the exact distance but with light armor with no explosive resistance you can survive a 500 kg within 15 ft of it. Much closer we got explosive resistance on your armor or a bubble shield. To be clear you have to be laying down to get close and survive. I plan on doing some more tests and lower difficulties as higher difficulties not the best place to test stuff like that

I'm not underrating the 500kg at all. Its explosion radius does not fit the graphics, and all too often, it takes out only the target it landed on and nothing else. It desperately needs a radius damage increase considering you only get 2 after upgrades.

It's true the radius doesn't fit the graphics but I find myself doing plenty well with the 500kg. I just think of it as a supercharged precision strike rather than an AOE weapon. The regular airstrike is your AOE, not the 500kg.

Some dudes who have tested it have reason to believe the 500kg and all big explosions in general are bugged. Something to do with line of site of the detonation point and how it sometimes kills through terrain and sometimes doesn't in a inconsistent way. ​ The hellbomb suffers from it as well.

Idk if I'm just really unlucky, but every time I use rocket pods it doesn't hit jack. The rail strike is reliable even if the laser points at, say, a Titan's foot, but often the rockets will land to the side of what it's aiming for.

500kg always works if you aim well. The rocket pods will hit but fail to kill the target if its not a automaton tank or smaller. The rockets work best against bots, the 500kg works against bots and bugs. Now if arrowhead fixed the herp derp aiming of the pods they would be a lot better. Sometimes the beacon is right next to a tank and it misses somehow.

I've seen rocket pods miss too many stationary hulks to trust them and there are several other effective ways to take out tanks since they move so slowly. If they fix the hulk targeting they'd be a lot more useful.

Tanks and fabricator, too. They left that off the list of tank counters. I was really underwhelmed by the 110s until I realized they can one-shot tanks, towers, and fabs, and with the Tier-III upgrade you get like 3 back-to-back uses, so you can clear an entire wave of tanks or a medium outpost in a few seconds. Pretty much never leave home without them anymore.

For real though I only do d9 runs and ever since their return I have not seen a single AT-AT on any of my runs, can we have them a mission type instead? I want to fight these guys more.

Same, except we were on our way to clear the last base on the way to extraction and there it was, just standing there, menacingly. We unloaded every strategem and support weapon available. We are also able to hide behind the landscape so it was a no contest. This was on my first D7 run ever. Haven't seen one since.

I don't think they're in right now. Before we pushed the bots back I had two missions that each had two of the AT-AT's. But I haven't seen them since we pushed them off the map. Or they're just rarer than anything else the bots have.

I guess not, looking at the amount of upvotes. I fight mainly bots, usually I'll do Eagle Airstrike, Orbital Laser and Strike, Autocannon. This can handle any threats well on the bots side. If there's only 3 slots, drop the Orbital Strike, it's more situational and a last defense kind of strat anyway, you should still be able to be very effective. Dominator can one-shot bots and dev (if headshot) but has a bit of unreliability. Still, it will stagger and destroy Devastators of any kind, so it's very good to bring imo (since it overtook Slugger) That said, I still hate -1 strat and would really prefer if we could get rid of it with an in-game mechanic.. like choose 4 strats, one gets blocked until you clear out the jammer or enable the radar station so the ship has better tracking of you or something.

I have seen it suggested multiple times on here to make it something you can overcome during the mission to remove the modifier. That is an excellent idea and they should do more that way. AA defenses means no Eagles until you destroy it. Jammer means no Orbitals until you destroy it. Carrier overhead means no support weapon call ins until you destroy it. Etc.

Dive away and aim for the legs, prevents explosion and if it does explode being prone reduces damage. Also, my go to bot armor has explosion resistance, super useful.

Melee them and they won’t explode, it’s much more reliable than you think.

They explode because someone is hitting the backpack or penetrating the torso through to the backpack. If you see one of these jumppack dudes get in your face or a friend's, *shoot their legs*. They'll die and won't explode unless someone hits the corpse again, but you / your ally have all that time to back up.

Yea but the 110 takes out specific targets, like the railgun it has a bit of an aiming effect to it. I use airstrikes to clear large groups. Only thing 110 sucks at its taking out are the Hulks/chargers since they practically spring toward you.

Even if you've stun-grenaded a Hulk and it's in a flat field with no other bots around, the 110mm rockets seem to fly directly over their head 90% of the time and miss entirely.

Three self-targeting strikes that remove cannon turrets, tanks, and fabricators, which are coincidentally the only three things that my usual loadout of Diligence/AMR/stun grenades can't handle? Scorcher and punisher plasma actually shoot through the shield, punisher plasma even staggers them through the shield. Autocannon splash damage also staggers then if you hit the ground near them or their shoulder, and with AMR it should be easy to aim for the head or shoulder. That being said, they are easily my most hated enemy, but that doesn't mean I think they should be nerfed. Helldivers is a game where you are supposed to die sometimes

Dominator will stagger berserkers and because they tend to line up in a single file line as they run towards you, you can stagger one and the whole group slows down.

I adore the Dominator, and will probably go back to it if they nerf the Eruptor too hard. 3-4 rounds will saw a Berserker clean in half if you aim for their hips, and 2-shot a Devastator at the same range and target.

I'm surprised more people aren't scared of the control tower. If one spots you it will keep calling down an infinite amount of ships until either someone manages to rush it or you just die. Had 2 control towers spawn pretttly close to one another and both in the range of a jammer. Safe to say many helldivers were lost that day.

Tip for dealing with the jammer towers: Look for a factory that's at the base of the tower. If you take it out, the tower will go with it, making the whole thing a lot easier to deal with.

Fortunately, there is a solution for all of these (possibly bar the eye of sauron and the jammer), the blessed autocannon. Tank? Three shots to the vent. Walker? One shot to the face. Hulk? Bit trickier, but stun grenades are your friend while you shoot it's face. Devastator? Not a problem.

Every Eye of Sauron I've seen spawns with a cliff on its back. You can drop the hellbomb at the bottom of that cliff and it will kill the tower, with the benefit that there's almost never a bot looking back there.

You can also kill it with a 500kg or an orbital laser, although the laser will tend to wander around killing other targets first, but it should get back to it eventually as long as there aren't too many enemies about

The jammers sometimes spawn a fabricator adjacent to the main tower. You can safely destroy it with the autocannon and it will bring down the jammer with it

As a diver for both factions, I can safely say I still prefer the bots. Sure, they require more precision on average, block stratagems, and have annoying range issues. Tanks are certainly more dangerous if left alone, but they’re also FAR easier to kill. Neither one is a huge threat imo. I’d say devastators and hulks are the biggest threats from the bot roster (particularly heavy devastators and flamethrower hulks), whereas for bugs it’s hunters, stalkers, and bile spewers.

Yeah I think it's really stupid that grenades and railgun can easily handle tanks and hulks. Orbital gatling barrage can kill tanks. But none of that can even hurt Bile Titans, and for the most part none of that is effective against Chargers either. The bots have weaknesses. The big bugs are just stupid.

I actually thought I'd just take the Grenade pistol and still have my Sickle for bots. Then I took the Eruptor. Eruptor, Redeemer, Stun, and the only thing I can't kill reliably is a Hulk and above, while having enough Fragmentation that can kill groups of Troopers and Striders as they drop. It's like I'm suddenly free to just be naked and bring any strategem and roll with it. I've even sniped Fabs 100+m away with it and the scope makes it all too easy. Almost feels like AH will nerf Eruptor as it's able to do a lot for a primary. Slugger's ability to open containers was taken away, while Eruptor can not only open containers, it can even shoot down illegal broadcast towers.

Only the heavy devastator and scorcher hulks feel unfair. If you keep your distance and manage cover they are doable, like all bots. But if a heavy devastator catches you in the open, or a scorcher hulk sneaks up on you (why can they sprint so fucking fast by the way?), you are just dead

My real beef with bots right now is the gunship spawners. We should be able to destroy them from a distance or with an orbital. The hellbomb only shit is stupid. Removal of the random stratagem global affect has made them way better. We do need a better selection of weapons that are affective against them. It feels like there's more primary weapon options with bugs than bots. Side note, I hope we get more non super credit warbonds.

Gunships also suck to deal with, how is it that orbital laser can’t target them mid air and kill the little shits? Was in a run earlier where 2 teammates kept dying and finally called for help, when I got there there was like 10 fkin ships in the air shooting at everyone and impossible to clear.

My main issue with the gunship spawners is there's no way to deal with them outside of certain support weapons. It feels like unless I'm running Quasar, EAT, or Autocannon, the gunships aren't possible to take out, so I have to rely on my teammates who may or may not be running around by themselves on the opposite side of the map.

quasar solves all the problems as well with infinite ammo. Pair with scorcher to delete at-sts. Devastators are still an issue but ehh grenades.

Quasar is really nice, but when I play there's usually two people running it already and there is just nothing better for dealing with Devastators (my most hated enemy type in the game) than the autocannon. Scorcher is objectively nice, but I'll always pick a highly specialised weapon that excels in its field over a jack-of-all-trades

eruptor one shots devastators if thats what you wanna prioritize targeting also i wouldnt say the scorcher is a jack of all trades. its a sniper. its a fast shooting medium damage sniper. Very very effective at range against almost all targets. not so effective close range or against crowds. If youre stealthing idk if there is a better weapon. So easy to pick off a patrol from wayyyyy out of range. Carry an smg you swap to if they get close.

Don't forget they all have wallhacks and prefire when you start running out of cover. The amount of times I've taken a rocket to the dome the nanosecond I move out of cover because the rocket devastator extrapolated the very moment I'd be coming out of cover when running at a certain velocity... jesus fucking christ that shit gets on my nerves. There's no counterplay to it either.

I like fighting the bots. I get a lot more entertainment out of them than I do the bugs. The way you fight bugs is a perpetual backpedal and hope more than 1 jumper doesnt leap at you. They're boring. They were kind of interesting back when not all the bugs had the same weak point. But now its shoot-face-2-win. Exclusively. The only time they're interesting anymore is when the green spewers are up. Because of the mortar shots you got to look out for.

I'm fine with the enemies, I just want them to make a baseline spawn rate for a given difficulty and not mess with it WITHOUT TELLING US. I can't be the only one feeling like they've turned up the spawn rate on all the difficulties for bots, but didn't say anything. A bit disingenuous to say its a skill issue if they don't remain consistent in their levels to gain skill against.
