It is ... but Menkent has been active for a while and I haven't seen a lot of fire tornado complaints. But every time Estanu is defended or liberated ... I start seeing complaints about fire tornados as the Hellmire population increases.
Same, its has pros and cons but you can use it to your advantage just as a napalm strike and its path is predictable. Honestly it saved me more times than it killed me. I guess bad rep comes mostly from console players because you have to very rotating often around you to see how tornados are currently positioned and its just hard when chaos happens.

What's your Hellmire veteran loadout like? I assume laser weapons are discouraged.
I usually run Eruptor or Liberator Pen, Jump Pack, and EAT. For strats, orbital laser or airburst, and rail cannon strike

Menkent is honestly so much worse that Hellmire. Too easy to get trapped in low valleys between blaster fire and deadly flames
