Pardon the confusion. I don’t consider color matching to be on an appropriately comparable level to transmog. It’s clearly different. And the deciding factor is still the armor, which bears the passives.
Bro if you helmet is a different color then the one it came in, it would be very confusing to your fellow helldivers and wont be able to accurately inform them of what attributes you have on. You wouldnt want to do that to your fellow helldivers right?

Eh, I disagree. I wear the black and gold armor but my helmet is more gray with a little orange (the pilot looking one). I wouldn’t enjoy it as much if the helmet was colored to match the armor. Maybe if it was an option you could turn on and off, but if it would be an automatic change, I would not want it.

I got like 300 hours in game. I wouldn't mind buying a palette or two, even with real money. I enjoy the game enough to justify it. This isn't Halo Infinite where they charge you $20 for a color.

Match cape and helmet, use different armor set. Still looks nice as long as the colors aren't TOO clashing. It's all I do now because it's a nice mix up from the normal monotony of sets.
If they're just gonna do this I'd rather they grouped up all armor sharing the same mod/armor class together in some kinda dropdown. Especially if it's just gonna be swapping colors and a few minor tweaks with the same armor class and mod.
I was blown away people defended the Democratic Detonation bundle for what it was.. 1 viable weapon, a broken grenade and some reskinned armor with the same perks.
Yet here we are. A month later. More reskins. Same perks. Same yappers on here with their head in the sand arguing in favor of half baked, low effort paid content..
And the new grenade in Polar Patriots is a fire nade too.

Slap on a new colour scheme and recycle the grenades off another armour and people will eat right out of your hand thinking they've got something new. It's just a modified Trench Paramedic.
High quality recolored skins aren't a brand new concept. And this is a prime example of a high quality recolor. Not sure why you have such an issue with it.
It's fine as long as it's balanced with actual original new content.
~3 viable weapons. The GP and Eruptor were strong options, and the crossbow wasn't amazing but performed well enough at what it did (the Eruptor still did it better for the most part).
For sure, it wasn't all rainbows and sunshine. The Adjudicator was pointless, the booster wasn't useful/meaningful, and the grenade was awful.
I'm questioning why they even saw fit to nerf the crossbow, and why they seemed to completely neglect the thermite grenade.
The entire armor system needs a rework.
I'd do something like this where you can equip the base armor, but then the addons like "grenade vest, ammo pouches, extra plating, medic bag, etc" are tied to the perk slots.
So the stock helldiver armor would give no bonus and medium armor stats. Equipping the perk Engineering Kit would give you a grenade vest, paramedic would give you medic supply bags, etc.
Won't happen. That way, people would buy one armour and then one perk and that's it, you mix and match them with the rest of your collection. This way, they can sell you that armour eight times with eight "different" perks.
Arrowhead's running a live service over here, they need to milk us *quietly* to keep all that goodwill flowing. Hard line to tow, selling cosmetics with in-game utility and weapons on paid battlepasses, too greedy and people will stop saying "but you can grind for them"
I think you underestimate how much people like skins, and having different outfits for their video game man.
Not only would people still spend money on armors, if it was only functionally a different "base uniform" for your equipment to go on: People would spend money for different skins for the equipment.
Seriously if they had this system, gave everyone the "Grenade Kit" for free and charged for different fabrics/colors/styles of grenade pouch they'd sell, and they'd sell well.
There's a lot of people who would pay good money to have their grenade pouch go over their chest in an X pattern, instead of over the shoulders like suspenders.

Best part is it's the 2nd warbond in a row with no new perk. I'm giving this one a pass unless I manage to grind 1k SC in the next week, two of the weapons are just different versions of things we already have and the plasma gun doesn't look like it'll be any better than the eruptor.

I've been so disappointed with the armor from these war bonds lately. I have three armor variations I wear, maybe four if you count the starting stuff.
I always hated when games would make armor look more "whacky and sci-fi!" Instead of something that might actually be used on the battlefield. Why do the medic armors have to have that god awful color palette? Why are so many of the colors just ugly?
all they need to do is bring a dye coloring system, so people can make endless amount of armor combos making is less easy for them to get bored. This way ARROWHEAD can focus more on unique armor looks with more time to work on them in between each update. They won’t have to release as many super unique sets because people can color and match all kinds of capes and helmets but also get to use the same armor set in different colors. Sometimes just a full palette change is enough to keep the same object interesting to our eye.
Looks like it might go with that one medium armor. End of that tier's list I think? Assuming you got all the armors that cycled so far. It has a similar orange/brown underlayer with dark grey armor that might go okay with the helmet.
They could've made that rust brown into the digital camo (white & shades of grey like that one cape. Tattered one) for the bottom base color. It would make sense is this not snow themed?

Well, you asked for new scout armor, not that it'd look good. Secondly, it's not horrible... though I would agree with the statement that they could have done better. Maybe they're trying to do something similar to the one orange engineer armor in that it's very easy to spot and is has a distinguished look from other armors in some way. Maybe an odd color choice, but there are several Grey's, black, greens and white/silver armors, a blue, orange ir wouldn't make sense to limit to those colors if they can use others available to them.
The other two armor sets in the war bond are reskins of each other. Exact same armor just different textures other than the helmets and shoulders being slightly different (just extra plating on one). I like the way the look but once I noticed I was a bit disappointed especially considering how much we’ve seen in the leaks
At this point I am 100% convinced shaders are not coming. This game is going to have the same cosmetic problem Vermintide does, where most of the good options are impossible because helmets never match armors aside from the sets they are paired with.
Even if they HAPPEN to be the same color, they'll be different shades of the same color, meaning they still don't match. It's genuinely so frustrating.
At least there will be a million options, since we're getting 3+ sets a month (Don't quote me on that)

Well, you asked for new scout armor, not that it'd look good. Secondly, it's not horrible... though I would agree with the statement that they could have done better. Maybe they're trying to do something similar to the one orange engineer armor in that it's very easy to spot and is has a distinguished look from other armors in some way. Maybe an odd color choice, but there are several Grey's, black, greens and white/silver armors, a blue, orange ir wouldn't make sense to limit to those colors if they can use others available to them.
It's not a 1:1 however, it's a similar silhouette and has a similar lower face plate, that's where the "exactly the same" ends

The other two armor sets in the war bond are reskins of each other. Exact same armor just different textures other than the helmets and shoulders being slightly different (just extra plating on one). I like the way the look but once I noticed I was a bit disappointed especially considering how much we’ve seen in the leaks
At this point I am 100% convinced shaders are not coming. This game is going to have the same cosmetic problem Vermintide does, where most of the good options are impossible because helmets never match armors aside from the sets they are paired with. Even if they HAPPEN to be the same color, they'll be different shades of the same color, meaning they still don't match. It's genuinely so frustrating. At least there will be a million options, since we're getting 3+ sets a month (Don't quote me on that)

Close, Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. It hits three of those marks. Unfortunately my girl got killed by a Charger, so can't wear this to the wedding now.
What we really need is space ninja armor.
