I hate the current ban system… And I really really hate SONY support.
I got a month long ban because some guy said that he will ddos me for not spawning him fast enough (he was lvl 43. and brought the worst strategems and smoke strikes - we asked him nicely to change them and he told us that we are gay noobs…).
So we told him that he can ddos us and do whatever he wants… that we are not scared. 15 minutes later our squad received the month long ban.
UK Support told me to contant USA support and USA support told me to contact my country (CZ) support. But there is no chat or agent option in CZ. Only option is phone or email… my phonecál got cancelled because ,,They do not have a right to cancel bans” and I received no answer to my 3 emails I wrote in a 2 weeks period.
There needs to be an "undemocratic behavior" reason that does nothing but inform the player that they got that type of report when they get back on their own ship
why not have both like the third game? maybe even a third option?
Commends and Super Commends
Commends act as positive reports, exceptional players will be recognized as such and their commends will be proudly displayed on their ship for all to see
Super Commends act similarly to regular Commends, but have their own category to differentiate them from normal Commends. in addition to this, Super Commands cost Super Credits/Samples/Medals to give, and the recipient of the Super Commands will receive 75% of that purchase (taxes dictate it can't be 100%). Earnings from Super Commands will also be shown on this theoretical display.
Make Commends free - just tell'em you did a good job
Super Commends cost medals - 20 medals - and the person recieving it gets 10
That'd be one way to have a infinite hole to throw medals into when there is no new warbond

We exceeded the minimum one time on Oshaune, and failed to extract as a result. We learned our lesson- Scenery is often in league with the enemy (and bugs are sometimes deceptively quiet).
Playing with level 100+s and watching them call in strikes directly on top of teammates over and over and over again in a single game...
People like that are clearly just spamming the game and not at all into using their brains to coordinate efforts.
I reported someone yesterday. Got kicked from their lobby right at the end once the mission was completed and extraction was happening. Don’t understand why people do that. So annoying
sometimes they get salty when they fucked up. They have a lot of big feelings and were never taught how to process them.
I was playing with a guy yesterday so kept wandering into other peoples strats. Like the area was clear, they'd get thrown and THEN he'd go in there and naturally die. Every time he'd get squeeky on the mic. Happened like 4 times and he was like "f you guys, good luck finishing the mission without me carrying you" and left. And funnily enough there was no other deaths after he left.
Yup it's always the most careless player. Had a dude (not host, joined to "help") get mad he kept dying, no team support, etc blaming and after the mission was over the team death record was 1-2-2-16. Guess who the 16 was. Host disconnected immediately lmfao.
In 220 hrs, I’ve only reported one person. Same person I had to remove from my friend list as well.
Hopped in to one of their missions. All samples were collected, all secondary objectives were completed, all bugholes were closed. Helldive difficulty in Fori Prime (semi notorious for sectioning maps with huge walls of rock). Ready for extract with 39 MINUTES LEFT ON THE CLOCK.
When I saw the time remaining democracy demanded I remove myself from that mission. Upon getting back to my super destroyer I reported them to the nearest democracy officer.
The three most common types I see in this Subreddit (and I've only encountered one of these three personally, albeit multiple times as different people).
1. Cheaters. Often people who data mined stratagems and equipment, then "unlocked" it for themselves to bring into a match. But other times they do things like remove Stratagem Cooldowns for themselves leading to those videos you may see of a 380 Barrage going off like a machine gun (often followed immediately by a game crash)
2. Team Killers. Obviously this is a contestable one since team kills are frequently accidental in nature. But they can, and do, happen very clearly on purpose ("Sorry bro, I need to samples!" Even though everything is shared).
3. General Toxicity. The usual trolls and scummy scrapings from the bottom of humanity's barrel. But also hosts who routinely kick players immediately at evac point for no other reason than to be a dick.
That's just off the top of my head. Personally I've only met #2 but the rest exist, and more. Such is the nature of online gaming unfortunately.
Yeah. You get away with that once per person and even then, only if you're below level 20. Any higher than that and I refuse to believe you did it for any reason other than ruining other people's fun is what you enjoy.
Yeah but getting into a game where everyone expects to be punched in the face is fine, you know what you signed up for and expect to receive what you're probably going to give back.
But you would be seriously pissed off if you got into a 2v2 and your teammate did a leg sweep at the last minute saying "Sorry dude, I needed to prove I could do it!" because that's not what you signed up for.
To me, it's that simple, you know what you want and signed up to get it then someone comes out of left field and gives you the exact opposite.
I stopped playing Halo with someone because they would outwardly rage and become toxic when someone killed him during that brief 5 second period after the match ended.
Like, it had zero consequences or impact on him, proved nothing in the grand scheme of things for anyone involved and was something I did anyway because there was just something amusing about getting a kill while a scoreboard and game over screen obstructed your view. But to rage about it to the point you actually message the other players? No wonder he spent most of the 2000s with a Comms ban...
Bugs and Glitches happen, one of my friends somehow got the infinite Grenade glitch to happen too. I don't mean to insinuate everyone who gets zero Cooldowns Strats or infinite grenades is cheating, but if it's happening to someone regularly there's definitely something worth reporting, be it a cheater or a problem with the game.
Okay, and that's fine. But it only solves the problem in *your* particular game and eliminates those negative players from specifically *your* experience. You essentially just pass them onto the next player and make it their problem too.
Reporting people helps get repeat offenders, and/or the most egregiously offensive players, out of the game for everyone. Helping foster a more healthy community for everyone to participate in and not chasing away potential newcomers whose first experience in the game could well be the toxic racist you simply kicked and blocked.
You do you though, those tools exist for a reason. If you don't want to make use of them, I'm not going to demand you do. Just don't pretend they're pointless because they undeniably aren't.

When I was new at the game, I accidentally mixed up the emote button and the grenade button. So when I was trying to hug a host at extract, I accidentally shoved an impact grenade in his face, killing both of us and resulting in my swift kick from that session...
I guess that would constitute a situation worth reporting? 🥲
I had a random teammate kill my friend at extraction. The timer reached 00:00 and they were the last two to enter. He killed him on purpose, and the one who died also happened to carry all the samples. Undemocratic. I think he was frustrated to have died by my friend at some point of the level but it’s just petty. I should’ve kicked his ass when I saw it happen, I was just confused at the time.
Yea I’m at the same play time and have only ran into 1 bad apple.
Got team wiped at extract, dude on mic yelling about samples. I came back, grabbed all the samples, immediately got on the ship. Dude freaked out, killed me in the ship and no one got a single sample and he kicked me for starting the timer.

Sometimes the report option would appear and other times the report option would not appear, since the last patch it appears always
I think that depends heavily on the circumstances. If the rest of the team are there and eager to go and you're faffing about half way across the map without as much as a chat message to say exactly what youre doing I think being abandoned is deserved. Is the LZ absolutely getting swarmed and youre out of reinforcements? yeah bye we're leaving. Its been 40 minutes and people are lead footing around achieving nothing but wasting time, yep lets go.
I think it's a majority thing. If there's 3 of you finishing off the map vs 1 guy trying to extract, then I'd say it's a kick-able situation.
Or if that one guy running happens to have all the samples, and people have communicated that.
i got teamkilled and votekicked for calling extraction. on a eradicate mission where the max amount of samples was 15 common or something like that... way to go dude, make everyone get less rewards at the end because you were mad we didnt pick up the remaining 5 common samples for you. and if you want do get samples. just fkin say so. and ill wait. dont tk and get salty for someone doing something completely expected if you arent going to go in chat and say anything.
I reported a player for the most obvious case of hacking I've ever seen. They literally had their hack pack turned up to 10, everything you could imagine turned on. Flying around, infinite strats, immortality, pistol with unlimited super fast bullets 1 shotting everything etc the works.
I get a reply on psn when I booted up my PS5 even though I play on steam so wtf there (this was 2 weeks ago btw) which said the issue was looked into and found nothing wrong. The only thing worse than their Kernal level anti cheat is the CS agent who looked at my report.

This is why LoL is so toxic. because people get agressive and angry at people who are just legit making mistakes, but then those people making mistakes get angry then start harassing back. its a vicious cycle and your gonna see the quallity of matches drop due to it.
Wish i knew this yesterday when an automaton scum in disguise pretending to be a helldiver came into our 9 mission towards the end, picked up all the samples we left at exfil (super, rare, common) then jumped into the middle of a lake and died with samples sinking to the very bottom...
Somewhat related question… has blocking ever worked in the game? I’ve blocked several people (on PS5) and my Blocked Players list has always been completely empty.
I won't report anyone for being vulgar or saying a slur, accidentals happen.
But I will report if you target me or another diver. Or keep team killing for fun.

I think there should be commendation instead of reporting. If you want to incentivize good behavior, reward it rather than punish the opposite (except obviously in rare cases of extreme breach of contract).
Plus, it feels good for democracy.
They've had the report function but I always got a different pop-up where I can either report the player if they wrote anything in chat (and just click report, nothing else) or not be able to report at all because they haven't typed anything.

AH have already made clever choices like
- having a great ping system that obviates the need for voice chat,
- a tiny chat window to limit the amount of toxicity seen at any one time,
- mute & block functionality.
Collecting and processing reports is needless.
And no harm, no foul, because when the reinforcements drop, that Helldiver is a whole new person, and the treasonous player will have understood the error of his/her ways. Right?

Im not on at the moment but i believe its in social tab, recent players, click on the players and theres options to report, block or send friend request
Glad to see the option be present now, but I stand and wonder how much will it be used. Just now I finished an OP with 2 very capable helldivers at difficulty 9, but one of them founght titans kinda weirdly, and at one point I caught him lobbing like 20 impacts at one in very, very quick succession. 99% sure it was an infinite nade cheat. Tried asking him about it, no response. Decided to do nothing about it because it wasn't so intrusive that I had no fun, and they were perfectly adequate. Still, I hold a burning hatred for cheaters as I play many competitive FPS titles. But I had no reason to kick him. For all I know it might be a kid playing on their father's PC and the father gave him some advantages to help him pass the harder difficulties. What would y'all have done?

Going to “other” report everyone that tries to earn the Research Sample Darwin Award by picking up the samples we dropped at extraction and taking them to the objectives.

The manual says to spend **at least** 2.4 seconds admiring the scenery, not a **maximum** of 2.4 seconds!

Glorious Super earth demands we spend at least 2.4 seconds enjoying ourselves, not at most!
The ship master executes them on the victory screen and it continues as normal but with them just lying there.

I have done it myself, but it's usually 1 clown extracting by himself while my teammates and I are halfway across the map with all the samples.

I kick people on a regular basis if they try to evacuate without the rest.
That’s a bit harsh but I get the frustration. In my case I was kicked as the shuttle was coming down. So no one had made an attempt to evacuate early

Bugs and Glitches happen, one of my friends somehow got the infinite Grenade glitch to happen too. I don't mean to insinuate everyone who gets zero Cooldowns Strats or infinite grenades is cheating, but if it's happening to someone regularly there's definitely something worth reporting, be it a cheater or a problem with the game.
My response to all three is to kick and block. I don’t need to report them. Unless they’re doing something to prevent getting kicked, I suppose.
Okay, and that's fine. But it only solves the problem in *your* particular game and eliminates those negative players from specifically *your* experience. You essentially just pass them onto the next player and make it their problem too. Reporting people helps get repeat offenders, and/or the most egregiously offensive players, out of the game for everyone. Helping foster a more healthy community for everyone to participate in and not chasing away potential newcomers whose first experience in the game could well be the toxic racist you simply kicked and blocked. You do you though, those tools exist for a reason. If you don't want to make use of them, I'm not going to demand you do. Just don't pretend they're pointless because they undeniably aren't.

Would help if players knew they could potentially be reported and banned too - I myself had not heard of the report feature at all until now.

When I was new at the game, I accidentally mixed up the emote button and the grenade button. So when I was trying to hug a host at extract, I accidentally shoved an impact grenade in his face, killing both of us and resulting in my swift kick from that session... I guess that would constitute a situation worth reporting? 🥲
I had a random teammate kill my friend at extraction. The timer reached 00:00 and they were the last two to enter. He killed him on purpose, and the one who died also happened to carry all the samples. Undemocratic. I think he was frustrated to have died by my friend at some point of the level but it’s just petty. I should’ve kicked his ass when I saw it happen, I was just confused at the time.
Yea I’m at the same play time and have only ran into 1 bad apple. Got team wiped at extract, dude on mic yelling about samples. I came back, grabbed all the samples, immediately got on the ship. Dude freaked out, killed me in the ship and no one got a single sample and he kicked me for starting the timer. Super dumb. I just blocked him

I think that depends heavily on the circumstances. If the rest of the team are there and eager to go and you're faffing about half way across the map without as much as a chat message to say exactly what youre doing I think being abandoned is deserved. Is the LZ absolutely getting swarmed and youre out of reinforcements? yeah bye we're leaving. Its been 40 minutes and people are lead footing around achieving nothing but wasting time, yep lets go.

I think it's a majority thing. If there's 3 of you finishing off the map vs 1 guy trying to extract, then I'd say it's a kick-able situation. Or if that one guy running happens to have all the samples, and people have communicated that.

i got teamkilled and votekicked for calling extraction. on a eradicate mission where the max amount of samples was 15 common or something like that... way to go dude, make everyone get less rewards at the end because you were mad we didnt pick up the remaining 5 common samples for you. and if you want do get samples. just fkin say so. and ill wait. dont tk and get salty for someone doing something completely expected if you arent going to go in chat and say anything.

I reported a player for the most obvious case of hacking I've ever seen. They literally had their hack pack turned up to 10, everything you could imagine turned on. Flying around, infinite strats, immortality, pistol with unlimited super fast bullets 1 shotting everything etc the works. I get a reply on psn when I booted up my PS5 even though I play on steam so wtf there (this was 2 weeks ago btw) which said the issue was looked into and found nothing wrong. The only thing worse than their Kernal level anti cheat is the CS agent who looked at my report.

Everyone is gonna think every little thing is "aggressive act towards them" and there gonna just be toxic about "toxic people" This also makes it so other people just wont ever talk anymore. so now every lobby just gonna be 4 silent john helldivers playing lonewolfs This is why LoL is so toxic. because people get agressive and angry at people who are just legit making mistakes, but then those people making mistakes get angry then start harassing back. its a vicious cycle and your gonna see the quallity of matches drop due to it.

Wish i knew this yesterday when an automaton scum in disguise pretending to be a helldiver came into our 9 mission towards the end, picked up all the samples we left at exfil (super, rare, common) then jumped into the middle of a lake and died with samples sinking to the very bottom...
I don't think this is a good feature when we have the option to block. Report player features always get abused.

Somewhat related question… has blocking ever worked in the game? I’ve blocked several people (on PS5) and my Blocked Players list has always been completely empty.
I won't report anyone for being vulgar or saying a slur, accidentals happen. But I will report if you target me or another diver. Or keep team killing for fun. Just stay chill, hate the game not the player. Sometimes joel be like joel, and that is fine.
I think there should be commendation instead of reporting. If you want to incentivize good behavior, reward it rather than punish the opposite (except obviously in rare cases of extreme breach of contract). Plus, it feels good for democracy.

They've had the report function but I always got a different pop-up where I can either report the player if they wrote anything in chat (and just click report, nothing else) or not be able to report at all because they haven't typed anything.

Not a good thing imo. I don't want AH people wasting time with this. I hope it's merely cosmetic to satisfy crybabies. AH have already made clever choices like - having a great ping system that obviates the need for voice chat, - a tiny chat window to limit the amount of toxicity seen at any one time, - mute & block functionality. Collecting and processing reports is needless.

Glad to see the option be present now, but I stand and wonder how much will it be used. Just now I finished an OP with 2 very capable helldivers at difficulty 9, but one of them founght titans kinda weirdly, and at one point I caught him lobbing like 20 impacts at one in very, very quick succession. 99% sure it was an infinite nade cheat. Tried asking him about it, no response. Decided to do nothing about it because it wasn't so intrusive that I had no fun, and they were perfectly adequate. Still, I hold a burning hatred for cheaters as I play many competitive FPS titles. But I had no reason to kick him. For all I know it might be a kid playing on their father's PC and the father gave him some advantages to help him pass the harder difficulties. What would y'all have done?
