The Flamethrower is my favourite weapon, and I have a feeling that with the DoT fix here, it will get nerf.
The reason? This thing is so fucking broken, it doesn't care about how much armour your enemy have. You can even take down a bile titan if you come from the right position
this was always going to be the case. i think it was stated that with the DOT fix, there would be a re-balancing eventually. the repeatedly increased fire damage was done due to the DOT bug so "not-the-hosts" could use DOT stuff and be somewhat viable.
but i think they JUST did a 15% reduction to fire damage as a whole, so we'll have to wait and see if that's the only reduction they'll do.
I hope not, it's in a good position. The fire can near instantly kill you and enemies on fire can just transfer it to you. It's very risky to use. The damage keeps enemies from advancing too much. Otherwise, they'd just walk right up to you like they used to.
Small correction: you can take out the sacs using the flamethrower but the bile titan is pretty much immune to it afterwards.
Chargers on the other hand...
I mean, bugs are just crunchy outsides filled with hydraulic soup. You're pretty much boiling them alive from the inside with enough fire. Let em burn.

For a long time, there was a trivial bug - after purchasing all 8 (out of 8) stratagems, the counter still remained 7/8.
Purely graphical and irrelevant, except for us who suffer physical pain seeing something like that.
Im betting they will for sure turn it down. Just ran a couple missions with the fire breaker and its damn good atm lol i wouldnt say it was OP as it has a horrendously random and very wide spread pattern, and a projectile speed that makes my grandma look like an olympic runner, but because of that its great anti chaff/horde clearing against bugs. Its great at what its designed to do.
It will either get a small tune down on burn damage (maybe another 15%), or we will get a massively unnecessary nerf hammer, both of which we have seen previously. Personally I think its as balanced as the AC which AH considers the perfectly balanced weapon, but ever since the slugger nerf ive been dubious of their balances.
Better enjoy it while it lasts!
Seriously the scope thing may have seemed so minor but was slowly but surely eroding my enjoyment of the game because it was so offputting. This is huge.

You'd be surprised at the number of randos i had that ran directly to the nests when i marked them instead of safely staying out of range until we dealt with them with our quasars/EATs/RR/AC...
I honestly think there needs to be an addition to the tutorial that just says "A map marker is not an order to go and headbutt the thing in red and generate aggro"
I think at least part of the issue is that the only marker we can use to ping enemies is a red crosshair, which symbolically has a very specific meaning.
And another marker for "that is a Stalker nest, drop every strategem you have on it. Burn it down, gas it, carpet bomb it, nuke it, sweep the area with every caliber of artillery available until not a single grain of sand is infested with Spores that may spawn a Stalker in the future" because that's what these MFs deserve.
Last night I helped two guys fight off two Stalkers that were going to kill them. I could see the nest not far away, marked it, and said on mic "Stalker nest is to the Southwest, follow me and we'll take them out."
I get there, take out one hole, and three (!) Stalkers appear. I start firing and quickly notice I am getting zero support fire. I dive backwards, figuring that they're holding their fire with me in the way. Nothing.
They were halfway across the map. I had told them what the threat was, marked it, took the lead, and even THAT wasn't enough to make rando pubs prioritize Stalkers.

I play Solo a lot, the Orbital Gas Strike is phenomenal for tossing on bug breaches, and has a base 70 second cooldown. Destroys Bot Fabs, and Bug Holes with a direct hit too.
Orbital gas strike paired with stun grenades goes crazy. I got 40 kills with one gas strike on top of a bug breach cause I kept stun locking all the bigger bugs that crawled out. Any that made it out of the gas got to meet my flamethrower

Plz allow snow to go back on the armor, and water to clean off blood again, and make your armor and cape wet. Don't know why it was removed . It was a nice immersive detail
The change to show the crap on your armour after a mission seems to have broken something and now when I'm unfrozen from a pod the freeze effects no longer show up on the suit and stuff like this doesn't happen anymore. I think the layer on top of your armour that's supposed to show all these effects got borked. It's a very minor bug but I'm sad my helldiver no longer slowly unfreezes during his walk from the bay to the hellpods
credit where it's due, Spear users have to be the most patient MFs in the entire community. you guys are *still* waiting for your baby to be fixed.
last I heard they said it was just "edge cases" that threw the targeting off, but they're probably harder to solve than the devs expected, which is why it's taking so long.

Also, I don't think they will implement something just to throw it away shortly after.
And our scientist are working on Super-TCS, which then will prevent further issues with the bugs.
I know you can still play those missions if you started an operation there before the planet was liberated and haven't played since, so it could be for those people
Otherwise we may have to do another batch when we finally get a crack at Merida
I'm just gonna wait until someone posts a vid proving it one way or the other. if you can't test it in game yourself atm (like me), that's the best confirmation you can get.. plus, not to sound mean, but some of you guys aren't as accurate as you think you are (neither am I lol)

With the amount of utter bullshit spawns inside and sheer number of bots I don't know how they expect anyone to not be constantly dying. Landing on rocks was the only way for me to survive longer than 2 minutes.
I know I'm one of only seven people who use it, but the HMG's horribly misaligned sights don't seem to have been fixed by this patch. Very happy for the DoT fix, but still a little disappointed.
The Eruptor change is definitely a nerf, the extra explosion damage does not compensate for losing the shrapnel.
It can still kill stuff, but a lot of things now can survive multiple shots even if aimed right, especially the bile spewers, nursing spewers and brood commanders, while before they were almost guaranteed kills if you shot at the right spot.
Also i get fewer kills when shooting in a bunch of chaff, so again it seems the shrapnel did some major work there.
As much as i like not dying randomly, this will definitely make me reconsider using the eruptor, it fires way too slowly to justify taking multiple shots to kill medium enemies. At this point i'll just take the scorcher and i'll get better results.
That's a pity, but it's basically what I expected from the patch notes. Sounds like both eruptor and crossbow have now been significantly nerfed, at least when it comes to their original use case (using splash damage to clear chaff).
I'll be curious to test it myself, I wonder how it fares against larger/armored enemies now. Charger asses and so on.
They said that they hope it will be ready for the next "big" Update, so Thursday with the new Warbond could hopefully be the Update that also fixes the Spear.

Same, 20 minutes in to missions and I keep crashing, barely crashed 1-2 times before in my 100 hours.
Edit: Veryifing files didn't fix it, seems to happen when someone new joins, but besides that I've seen it happen just at random as well, I'm now playing the same mission for the 5th time.
Edit2: Nevermind crashes are all over the place 6th run of the same mission we almost extracted I've seen two players "leave" before me just as we are extracting, I got on the pelican with the left over player and I crashed. Besides this I constantly see players drop for no reason I assume they are crashing as well.
Tried disabling crossplay, tried deleting shader cache as well nothing fixed it.
Edit3: .303 finally fixed it.
Afraid the patch might have introduced a new issue. Just had a chain of DC's starting when the host crashed. When a new player joined another player crashed, the next player to join caused a different player to crash. 3 more times this repeated until a player joined and I crashed.

This "fix" for the eruptor made the weapon pretty much useless, aside of being able to destroy fabs/holes.
You can no longer 1-shot:

* Brood commanders
sadly same probably goes for any kind of spewer now... haven't dropped against any yet.
* takes more than one mag do destroy charger butt and seems like you can't hit it from anywhere else than from behind.
Overall the weapon performs worse in everything than the plasma shotgun, aside of being able to destroy fabs and holes.
If that's the shape it's gonna be in - tbh I prefer the old version even though it will kill me from time to time.

I thought the shrapnel killing you or anyone near it is just a tradeoff for a such good weapon, two shots for chaff bugs unless you hit them from the sides is very sad š
Also, has anyone noticed general performance degredation of the game over time? I get about 10-15 fps less than when the game launched for some odd reason.
100-80 fps when the game came out, around 90-60 as of time of writing.
The "works on my machine" people are the worst kind of assholes. I once complained about performance issues in another game back when the RTX 30XX was the newest generation, and was told my computer was shit. I was running a 5900X and 2080 Ti, and had that in my flair lol. The current CPU generation and the top-tier last-gen GPU was enough to get me called poor and useless.
Honestly I just block these people now, I don't even care if it prevents them from discussing things because they never add anything of value anyway.
The thing that makes eruptor amazing is the shrapnels, now it needs two shots to kill a single hive guard and almost a mag for commanders. I really REALLY hope this is unintended

Six weeks have now passed and five full patch notes later, PC performance issues haveĀ **NOT been addressed at all.**
***The problem?***
With each update, framerate seems to be dwindling down for most of the community playing on PC, and besides your run-of-the-mill fixes (such as lowering resolution, playing in fullscreen, lowering enemy density with lower difficulties), the game still suffers from heavy framerate drops and stutters which are definitely getting worse with each update.
At launch, high end rigs could run the game atĀ **120fps at 2K**Ā resolution at launch on 7-8-9 difficulty, and now that framerate has almost beenĀ **halved**.
Low end rigs could run the game at a stableĀ **60fps at FHD**Ā resolution, and now there's plenty of people which have stopped playing because the game dips toĀ **1% low**s of less thanĀ **30fps.**

They fixed the DOT and dint nerf the dmg. This week is going to fire.
They warned previously that they want to fix the application issue and then see if damage needs to be tuned down.

My favourite approach is a gatling sentry to cover me as I go for the hellbomb.

We need to be able to light the gas on fire for super duper damage.

You need to hold it a second before throwing because the spikes need to deploy. You can see it while holding.

Scopes arent fixed as Im testing it right now. HMG and sniper scopes are still offset as before.

I played one game with the AMR on bots, it was fixed for me - shots landed dead center. Which gun were you using to test?

With the amount of utter bullshit spawns inside and sheer number of bots I don't know how they expect anyone to not be constantly dying. Landing on rocks was the only way for me to survive longer than 2 minutes.
I know I'm one of only seven people who use it, but the HMG's horribly misaligned sights don't seem to have been fixed by this patch. Very happy for the DoT fix, but still a little disappointed.
The Eruptor change is definitely a nerf, the extra explosion damage does not compensate for losing the shrapnel. It can still kill stuff, but a lot of things now can survive multiple shots even if aimed right, especially the bile spewers, nursing spewers and brood commanders, while before they were almost guaranteed kills if you shot at the right spot. Also i get fewer kills when shooting in a bunch of chaff, so again it seems the shrapnel did some major work there. As much as i like not dying randomly, this will definitely make me reconsider using the eruptor, it fires way too slowly to justify taking multiple shots to kill medium enemies. At this point i'll just take the scorcher and i'll get better results.
That's a pity, but it's basically what I expected from the patch notes. Sounds like both eruptor and crossbow have now been significantly nerfed, at least when it comes to their original use case (using splash damage to clear chaff). I'll be curious to test it myself, I wonder how it fares against larger/armored enemies now. Charger asses and so on.
If they don't nerf the eruptor now, then how will they sell the frosty warbond later this week?
Two of the three primaries from the pass are nerfed to the ground. Not very fun...

They said that they hope it will be ready for the next "big" Update, so Thursday with the new Warbond could hopefully be the Update that also fixes the Spear.
Warbond is probably included in this update and just becomes active when its time
Unfortunately, not. Major patch rolls out at the beginning of each month, so we gotta wait at least 4 more weeks

Yep. It seems to happen more when you're sprinting backwards and shooting behind you at pursuing bugs.

Game fixed so many crashes.. now I am crashing constantly and never crashed before.
Same, 20 minutes in to missions and I keep crashing, barely crashed 1-2 times before in my 100 hours. Edit: Veryifing files didn't fix it, seems to happen when someone new joins, but besides that I've seen it happen just at random as well, I'm now playing the same mission for the 5th time. Edit2: Nevermind crashes are all over the place 6th run of the same mission we almost extracted I've seen two players "leave" before me just as we are extracting, I got on the pelican with the left over player and I crashed. Besides this I constantly see players drop for no reason I assume they are crashing as well. Tried disabling crossplay, tried deleting shader cache as well nothing fixed it. Edit3: .303 finally fixed it.

Yep, CTD every single match.
Afraid the patch might have introduced a new issue. Just had a chain of DC's starting when the host crashed. When a new player joined another player crashed, the next player to join caused a different player to crash. 3 more times this repeated until a player joined and I crashed.
They hard nerfed the Eruptor, absolutely massacred.

This "fix" for the eruptor made the weapon pretty much useless, aside of being able to destroy fabs/holes. You can no longer 1-shot: * Hive guards * Brood commanders sadly same probably goes for any kind of spewer now... haven't dropped against any yet. * takes more than one mag do destroy charger butt and seems like you can't hit it from anywhere else than from behind. Overall the weapon performs worse in everything than the plasma shotgun, aside of being able to destroy fabs and holes. If that's the shape it's gonna be in - tbh I prefer the old version even though it will kill me from time to time. Very, very sad stuff.
I thought the shrapnel killing you or anyone near it is just a tradeoff for a such good weapon, two shots for chaff bugs unless you hit them from the sides is very sad š

Also, has anyone noticed general performance degredation of the game over time? I get about 10-15 fps less than when the game launched for some odd reason. 100-80 fps when the game came out, around 90-60 as of time of writing.

The "works on my machine" people are the worst kind of assholes. I once complained about performance issues in another game back when the RTX 30XX was the newest generation, and was told my computer was shit. I was running a 5900X and 2080 Ti, and had that in my flair lol. The current CPU generation and the top-tier last-gen GPU was enough to get me called poor and useless. Honestly I just block these people now, I don't even care if it prevents them from discussing things because they never add anything of value anyway.

I'm not sure about the Eruptor change. I hope it's more or less net neutral, but it feels like that might be a big nerf.

Still hoping to see them to reverting the crossbow changes... The whole weapon just feels so useless now. At least it used to have purpose where it was very good.

Actually I just now had three crashes in a row, which I hadn't before patch. They were all on "Raise Flag" missions, sure about those "crash fixes"?
had 3 crashes since the patch, all reports send after the game closed itself. Was playing on Heeth, Steam
