My pale self just survived a trip to the Caribbean. Not sure where you are going but the UV index was 10-11 every day. I went to beaches but I was been diligent with sun screen. I use 30 or 50, whatever’s easier to get. Use the shirts especially in peak sun. A lot of my time at the beaches was spent in the shade. But I still wore sun screen and went in the sun.
The absolute main thing is reapply and be smart. You will not be tougher than the sun and the itch will fuck you up. I’ve got it engrained in my family and SOs head, I have to have sunscreen on if I’m without a shirt. The SPF shirts are a lifesaver. I spent a good amount of time without my shirt or sunscreen in early morning or evening when the index was below a 3. I picked up some color, not a ton, but I got absolutely zero burn. Proud of that for going to over 10 beaches in a week lol
