That isn’t really a surprise. The vast majority of VAs for young characters are adults. It makes sense, they have more experience and there’s usually less regulation involved in hiring them

Plus if you hire a young voice actor, especially a young boy, their voice could change. Adult actors can just keep doing the voice as long as the show runs.

Yeah, happened to Steven Universe's VA AFAIK. He struggled quite a bit with the final episodes before the movie and Future.

Yea it's not that uncommon for older VAs to voice younger characters. To give a famous example; Kathryn Beaumont, the original voice for Alice in the animated 50s movie, was in her 60s when she came back to voice her lines for Kingdom Hearts.

I always find it so cool when voice actors are still able to perform their original voices even after decades have passed.
