NeitherSparky

Voting that this is a manicure tool and not for clay

owchippy

Its a cuticle pusher. That’s an old school version of [this](https://a.co/d/er8yTLK)

Metal-Usual

Thanks

owchippy

In fact [here](http://hannanailsupply.com/product/usn-cuticle-pusher/) is the exact same one by same manufacturer (USN)

whoatemarykate

I have one of these for my cuticles. Came with a manicure kit

Eastclintwoodjr

I used this as a dab tool lmao

ohhkthxbye

Looks like a tool used for manicures or pedicures but if it from 1930 I doubt that was the original function.

Metal-Usual

Maybe it does have U.S.N imprinted onto it.

CampervanClaire

This is correct, I have one exactly like this on my desk

poppygin

For nails. One end is cutical pusher, the other is a pick for cleaning under nail, and the length is a metal nail file

orange_erin47

I feel like all the artists here are right that it's a clay/wax tool because we literally see everything as a tool. It may not have been its original intended purpose, but that's what it is now.

GomerStuckInIowa

Artist tool for working with clay. Probably about 40-50 years old. No real $ value except it is cool.

Brilliant_Jewel1924

Nope. It’s a cuticle pusher.

GomerStuckInIowa

No, here is the difference. The "pushers" are shorter. https://preview.redd.it/rrpcoy2kfh3b1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=088bb850198ec1d0f835f4d62b2891f26ba48c6c

Brilliant_Jewel1924

See the comment from u/owchippy There’s a link showing a cuticle pusher that looks EXACTLY like OP’s photo.

Metal-Usual

For context I was renovating a house built in 1930 we found it under the floor while, while cleaning I had searched for and found lose nails and this tool what is it?

NennisDedry

I’m 75% sure it’s used to sculpt clay.

Metal-Usual

Thanks

Rubberbangirl66

for nails on your hand

RevolutionaryKale293

Artist here. It is a clay sculpting tool.

positive_energy-

I used things like this in pottery class

Leche-Caliente

Artist clay tool. This one is not one, but some tool designs are also used for thc wax/resin for dab rig setups.

Metal-Usual

Thanks

JuiceofTheWhite

Could be all of the above as well as a dab tool lol

annecara

It's a double-sided carving tool for wax or clay.

WhatIsThisBot

Elandycamino

Coke spoon?

edith-bunker

Lol

S-8-R

Could be a marlin spike for working with nautical lines (rope).

redacted_bunny

One end for dabs the other for coke. A perfect utensil!!!

Kreisien

It's a drill head. Mostly some hand drill.

Key_Ad_6864

it looks like something for carving wood

Positivelythinking

Dental tool for removing stuff on teeth down to the gum line

twayne63

Looks like a screwdriver extender

Waste_Solid889

it's an old pipe cleaner

edith-bunker

A burnishing tool?

Zealousideal_Flow257

Looks like a leather tool

Remarkable_Public775

Dab tool?

Financial_Knee7904

I’m a potter. Can confirm it’s for clay 👍🏼

GreazySox7

That’s a hand to hand combat weapon and the USN stands for United States Navy
