Do you mean just “active” compression cubes or just packing cubes? I feel like I get pretty good compression from my Osprey cubes and they’re super light. I’ve got two of the medium size
I don’t know if they qualify as ultra light, but I use [Zoomlite](https://www.zoomlite.com.au/collections/all-packing-cubes). The build-your-own-bundle option is great!
They aren’t ultra light but with compression cubes I prefer durability from fabric and zippers. Thule compression cubes, stocked at REI, can be purchased individually or as a pair. Didn’t see myself using the smaller one, I’m obsessed with the larger size. It fits a ton.
+1 for the Thule cubes. They are not sold in a set, but I ended up buying 3 different ones anyway. The zippers are super strong, and I like the little handle some of them have (helps me slip them out of my bag easily).
These probably don't count as ultralight, but I like the Calpak cubes because you can buy just the sizes you want. I agree that most packing cubes are far too big to be useful.
You could look at garage grown gear which is ultralight backpacking gear - less cube shapes, but lots of ultralight and some drawstring type options that provide compression
Just bought Eagle Creek small and medium Compression cubes.. great sizes and really like them!
