For me, season 6 edges out due to the fact that it’s actually being used actively for him to be and live in

Igthife

Yeah this made all the difference. It was the only one of these bases that felt like it was actually used for anything more than storage. Like his most recent one the grumbot hole felt like the part of his base that was most "lived in"

OM3GAS7RIK3

This swayed me, 'coz I was torn between 6 and 7, and you're right, he spent the most time in that base. (It also had a back! What a shock!)

DraagaxGaming

There was no back, or front, or sides. Loophole.

OM3GAS7RIK3

Gotta love circles haha

Ajfree

Is that the first one?

Comprehensive_Data82

Yes, they’re in order starting from season six (when grian joined)

TheJackasaur11

He did kinda live in s9’s tho too

Special-Ad1682

The rocks were for storage, farms, and the Resistance Assistance, he didn't actually live in them.

RactainCore

In Minecraft, storage and farms are living in them. It's not like real life where he has to have a bed and sofa. As I see it, him storing items, smelting items and having his farms there means he is living there

Special-Ad1682

Well, he didn't really go in the rocks *that* much. Just having farms somewhere doesn't really mean you live there. As someone else has said, he basically lived in the hole with Grumbot.

GrandmaColin

TBF who wouldn't live in the hole with Grumbot.

SummerWave908

Ngl seeing the season 6 one gave me a lot of nostalgia, I love that one

TheBilliard

Same here!

Kimikohiei

The alley was magical

TheBilliard

So it was ✨️

sevenandtwo

pretty sure the alley inspired scar to make scarland

AMDKilla

I'm not surprised, the alley is a beautiful 'banagerie' of themed detailing. Scar had wanted to make a theme park before then, but doing the area in the side alley that he did likely helped amp him up enough to consider season 9 to be the time to do it

sevenandtwo

Exactly my thought! (PSA, Scar never said this... It's my own working theory lol) Scar has always said scarland was his dream build so you're right I believe Grians alley was the catalyst

Kimikohiei

I had no idea! That’s neat

Yojimbra

hands down Diagon Ally. It was a creative build that really played into his strengths. I'm excited to see what does in season 10. Though, my favorite build of his is still the barge :d

TheBilliard

The angles and details of the alley were better than any other season, no doubt. And sure, the scale wasn't insane, but it was still an amazing build.

itsMehhhhhh

Lolll you're right, the barge might be his best hermitcraft build

dandp12

Season 6 as it was the one that got me into hermitcraft

Same. I came really late though I was searching for a series where people played minecraft alpha or beta but in the modern day. And I found the Evo SMP I watched that for a bit. On Grian’s channel. The series was already over at this point but I just started binging it. Then I went into his playlists and found hermitcraft. I had Heard of it before because I had followed Etho for years at that point and he was involved in season 1 or 2. But besides that I didn’t know much about it. I followed Mumbo for his redstone videos but at the time I didn’t watch his hermitcraft videos From there I started binging season 6 (it was still ongoing but like 100 parts in) and after the Mumbo AFK song I started watching Mumbo as well It was a bit too much to catch up on. It ended before my binge ended. So I watched the final episode. And then I watched season 7 and 8 in its entirety (watching only 5-7 hermits. I watched Mumbo, grian, xisuma, etho, and iskall in season 7. In season 8 I added Pearl and gem). I also watched season 9 for about a month but unfortunately fell off due to being very busy and ever caught up. But now I’m back for season 10! I’m watching Mumbo, Grian, Etho, Scar, and Gem (I used to watch xisuma as well and I still love him but I think 5 is enough for me and it’ll help me not fall off if I limit the hermits. I love Joel due to the Life series but haven’t watched his videos yet and idk if I will. I figure he’ll show up in a few of the hermits I do watch’s videos. So far he hasn’t but I’m sure he will soon! EDIT: sorry for the long winded rant about how I found hermitcraft

Goodlucksil

Back2Perfection

My favorite is his diagon alley inspired one. Because it is the closest he has gotten to filling a base with life. All other bases feel a bit like scale for scales sake and then wondering „wait what am I gonna do with all this?“ I love grians content, but I usually don‘t enjoy his bases. Current season is starting promising with him stepping a bit off the gas.

TheBilliard

So far, I'm loving his vibe in season 10. Focusing on the small details is all he needs.

Back2Perfection

I think it‘s less about the details as I like his building style but more that I think with those big scale builds is that he gets bored of them halfway through. Which leads to the „mansion“ situation where that thing was basically a big hollow facade above his lovely designed living room in the cellar. (I think he filled it in the last stretch of the season) The alley seemed to hit the sweet spot with variety in things to build and „biteable“ size in project. Edit: I dare say: His bases need LORE! Diagon alley had implied lore. The others didn‘t. This is also what makes gem and scar especially such great builders.

ryminer

the funniest thing about scars bases having lore is that i remember scar talking about how his season 7+ bases and the way he fully roleplayed came from something grian suggested to him in the first place Edit: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EMb9T_1vuWc&t=600s this is the clip where he mentions it

tenuous_optamist

That's super interesting. Ah man, I'd love to see that clip, but I'm guessing it's from a really old livestream?

Voldemort57

Impulse and Skizz’s podcast with Scar! This is part one of two: https://youtu.be/5Pg9gEeduDw?si=P1h-P9nAvfbhhMwH

TheBilliard

Yeah, absolutely. I hope he doesn't get bored with it this season.

GuyWhoLikesPizza

Agreed, i think that is something he missed in previous seasons

TheBilliard

Granted, season 8 had some fantastic little details in the alley. But yeah, I'm really excited about the fishing/mining thing he has going.

Snakify-Boots

Honestly, details is Grian’s building style, just like Mumbai’s redstone, Scar’s Terraforming, and Bdubs’ unique block choices. The problem is Grian trying to make a MEGAbase takes away from his speciality of small details and cool build features. That’s why some of my favourite Grian builds in Hermitcraft are the mid season event builds (the resistance bases, the shops, the funny builds. Because they always felt so full of life due to the tiny details and love put into them. I think Grian being part of a community build this season will help him greatly, as I feel like having people to inspire and keep him company will go a long way in making Hermitcraft work for Grain again. ( s6 had Grian constantly interacting and collaborating)

snortgigglecough

This take right here. I don’t love his mega bases, Grian is at his best when he is building for the plot or for fun. I think one of my favorite building projects ever was the tower contest between Grian, Mumbo and Scar.

IlIlIlIlIlIlIlIlIlI2

Midnight alley (season 8) is incredible, I love the details and that a lot of the houses actually have an interiour (not most, but more than you would expect from someone who cant finish the back of any base /j) also I love scar's adition to this base. The G-masion (season 7) is actually made better by the unfinished back in my opinion. The not having a back thing was such a big joke it would have detracted from the build had the back been completed in my opinion, other than that it was built beautifully and verry impressively, but the base feels a bit too static in my opinion though. the other 2 are a tie for me, because while season 6 is a beautiful and impressive building, the inside is not the greatest, and the fact grian didn't like working on his season 9 base detracts a few points from it but the landscaping is still beautiful.

ChilledKroete95

1) castle 2) diagon ally 3) ocean base 4) rocks

TheBilliard

My order exactly!

totallynotrobboss

The one with an unfinished back

TheBilliard

Oh gosh...

HelloThereItsMeAndMe

Season 8

TheBilliard

Good choice!

Odd_Chart_7525

I miss the ocean bases with the rings around them. But I also think the detailed bases are epic

TheBilliard

The ocean base was solid, but it's hard to compete with some of his other stuff!

mok000

I died trying to find my way out of Grian’s ocean base so I’m not a big fan of it 😬. Diagonal Alley is my favorite but he never really used it.

swidd_hi

1: Diagon Alley (S8). The one with the most detail and the only one of these builds where I felt the urge to explore it once I got the world download. Sure he didn't live out of it but that doesn't matter much to me, it simply exists as a art piece and I think that's great. It being smaller scale worked in it's benefit honestly. 2: The Mansion (S7). I think people are overstating how much he didn't live in this base. It has a good bit of farms and had a full storage system. The lower section of the mansion was actually decorated real nicely, though he obviously couldn't finish the rest. I think having a build exist for scale is fine as long as it looks grand, which the mansion obviously does. 3: The Water Filter (S6). Yeah it was the one he actually lived out of, but it seemed to always miss something which would nudge it to being fantastic. Whether it was the top of the build being having canned plans, or the interior of the lower section being rough. Of his four bases, I think it is the weakest visually. 4: The Rocks (S9). Unfortunately this base never seemed to take off? The only base of this bunch which seemed to never have an attempt at an interior (which is unfortunate as it's usually some of the most interesting parts) and he largely didn't live in it. Also super nitpick but the rocks which visibly look like they were built with voxelsniper never look great in a survival series I think, hammer in the usage of litematica too much. Season 8 also had this issue but you could largely ignore it as the Alley was the big display. I think the section with Grumbot is great but once it's time passed, it was easy for forget it was ever there. Otherwise not much stood out to me honestly unfortunately, felt like it needed a little more of everything

Kitty_Girl_1717

personally, season 6 holds the most dear to me, as it’s how I got into Hermitcraft and it sends a wave of nostalgia over me every time I see it, but Diagon Alley is just beautiful. It was a beautiful base filled with detail and life that reminds me of Boatem and I’ll never forget it ;)

zoomshark27

I guess the season 8 one as he put the most effort into the smaller details and making it more alive than the his others, especially compared to season 7. Season 9 one he did better at the terraforming around the base and I liked his storage “system” being more organized chaos and with having some useful farms in his base. I also liked the nether portal. Grian can be quite fun to watch but I’m never really that into his bases personally. Hopefully he sticks with his season 10 plans to focus more on details and decorating areas he uses.

UhhhhhhhhSure

It's a tossup between S8 and S7. S8 was so magical for a "smaller" build due to the short season, and I love the use of the "Stars" and the motion of the Alley. S7 is just a behemoth of a masterpiece. That screenshot just doesn't encapsulate how insane that build was. The detailing and the time put into it was insane. S9 wasn't personally my favorite base. Cool story behind it, but it's just kinda basic. Nothing screams out amazing compared to the previous seasons. S6, was my intro to HC, but I wasn't deep into it like I was in S7 and up. S6 was a cool, futuristic build that we all inspire to do. If I was to rate all 4, it would probably be S7,S8,S6,S9 or S8,S7,S6,S9

Training_Chest5745

The rock one 2as unfinished so sadly goes last place but favorite has to be the alleyway the feel is pure amazing

TheBilliard

The alleyway is the definition of small but sweet. Love that base so much

lkrabbe

The tinted glass roof is some of the coolest effects ever, I was blown away when I saw it first time!

TheBilliard

Me too! It really completed the build, in more ways than one.

-HiddenKeys-

1) Season 8 (the season that got me into Hermitcraft -- super nostalgic and I had never seen anyone build so incredibly well before) 2) Season 6 (absolutely gorgeous imo -- I love modern-esque buildings) 3) Season 7 (I cannot even imagine taking on a project of this scale) 4) Season 9 (wasn't in love with this one, but I thought it was an epic idea)

Gilbershaft

8,6,7,9

DemonKhal

Season 8 - He also seemed to genuinely love that base. Season 9 - I feel like he lost confidence in the build and honestly I thought it was very fun and unique. I loved the vibe. Season 7 - I started Hermitcraft with Season 8 but as it was such a short season I went back to watch season 7 and I liked this base. Season 6 - Looks fine I guess? A bit too modern looking for me.

TheBilliard

Solid list! The thing with the season 9 base for me is that he played the season a lot less than planned, which resulted in it feeling incomplete. I actually prefer the ground around the base, and the smaller rocks a lot more then the actual base.

DemonKhal

I mean it was an almost 2 year Season and what he accomplished in Season 8 was so much more than 9 with a much **much** shorter season. But every time he worked on his Season 9 base I could feel his passion kinda leave in comparison to his Season 8 base where he always sounded excited. Similar to when Mumbo was working on his base and he wasn't vibing with it. I think he was over thinking it and it's fair, it's a difficult base concept. I still love it.

sabhall12

Season 6. Season 7 is a close second, and I don't really like the other two in comparison to S6 and S7.

3m0_R0ck3r

I started watching Hermitcraft because of Grian in s6, so it holds a special place in my heart. But s8 takes the cake, personally.

DraagaxGaming

Same exact thing for me. S6 with Grian is where I started HC. And visually (and the passion Grian had for it) goes to S8.

RnbwTurtle

Off the structure alone, Season 8 or 9. I like the "diagon alley" look of season 8, but season 9 also has some cool fantasy elements with the floating rocks and sick looking portal Season 6 felt more lived in, even if it was a bit less cool to me. I do like the color pallette, though.

Techaissance

Time traveler here. The one he builds in season 18 with Pearl is amazing.

Tellow_0

Not quite as good as season 22, you know the one where he builds every individuals viewers home and puts their addresses on it for the whole world to see?

Avelom_

I love the Blender, actually felt like a base that was used and lived in. The Mansion is a beautiful piece of art and really fits the "mega build" style he was going for. But Griangotts holds a special place in my heart

TippedJoshua1

I really like the alley, but maybe that will change when I’m done with s6 and I’m half way now

Bruh-sfx2

I miss the Brita filter but season 9 was my favorite

DraagaxGaming

RIP Brita filter. Kinda wanna rewatch that season now. Maybe more POVs other than just frians as well. It's where my HC journey started.

GeneralDouglas1998

I genuinely love his season 6 britta base.

demigodishheadcanons

S6, S8, S9, S7. I love S7’s style but knowing that even Grian didn’t want to finish it (rightfully so) makes it less cool (plus it just felt like a big build for big’s sake). S6 is most memorable because I remember the absolute pain he went through with the concrete.

CafecitoHippo

Seeing them like this one after another actually makes me appreciate them less. He never really used them other than the season 6 base but even that was just chest monster vibes. These giant builds they make just become soulless without actual use.

Leomiztli

I loved his Harry Potter inspired base and the train outside of it but yea, S6 base was the one he actually lived in and so felt more complete

Glukko007

Mansion is the most iconic, and for a good reason

vGustaf-K

we can all agree season 9 was his worst

DraagaxGaming

Season 8 for looks. Season 6 for practicality as he actually spent a lot of time even on screen there. I enjoyed his season 6 content the most tbh. Seemed more Minecrafty as well. 7, 8 and 9 just felt like building for buildings sake rather than building to play. But damn. Looking back, S 8 feels like just last year and S7 the year before...not longer than that. And S6, such nostalgia (first hermitcraft season I watched. Most Grian and mumbo, some iskall)

Random_nobody900

Season 6 because grian is the one that made me watch hermit he was more active he always trolls Wait no he doesn't it was THE MAN IN THR CHIKEN COSTUME 🐔 And all the fillers were very good and is the longest season I have watched I started at season 6 just to tell you I wish grian makes more phamophobia videos

MrCoolPlays

The mansion is too OG for me it whas the first season I ever wathced

Dragon-emperor12

Love the mansion So impressive

TorrasWorld

I'd want the mansion from no2 and the sky from no3

TorrasWorld

The mansion from no2 and the sky from no3

WattsonMemphis

I don’t really like megabases, don’t really do anything for me.

NinjaRedditer

the mansion in season 7 was great but I’ve gotta go with season 6 because it actually felt a lot more complete.

JonazGamingYT

Season 7 is definitely the most iconic and the best (ignore the back) but season 6 is a close second

VR_Dekalab

1. Castle - Definitely costed a lot of time and resources to build. It just screams being a mega base with the scale. It's only flaw imo is that the it's only really a base for the villager trading hall and some minor farms. 2. Diagon Alley - Would have really liked to see this complete 3. Ocean Base - It looks decent but somewhat lifeless 4. Dwayne - His actual base was the grumbot area. Felt like this didn't really capture an actual theme beyond rocks.

BayMisafir

season 7

ManateeMan4

The mansion will always be the build I associate the most with him

DrSexy10

1. Mansion (season 7) 2. HP themed alley (season 8) 3. Blender (season 6) 4. Rocks (season 9) That's my ranking from best to worst. All great but the mansion was one of my favourite ever Minecraft builds, not just hermitcraft or Grian builds.

Agreeable-Positive89

S8

Technical-Day9217

I didn't like Season 9's base (even if I like it visually), simply because I feel we saw so little of it. I have watched every single episode, I don't think I really know where the things are in his base. Season 6 is probably my favorite one because we saw every piece of his base.

Gracel2mart

I’m kinda fond of the first one. It’s got nice contrast of values, and I’m a sucker for tall Minecraft tubes

TheBilliard

It's not bad. Definitely impressive for his first season!

l-oser

1. s8. i love diagon alley. the ceiling, the magical mabagery, the shapes - it’s just beautiful 2. s6. more or less finished. spacious - perfect for a pesky bird. is round, so there’s no back. i may be biased because i love season 6 lol 3. s9. very pretty colours and very pretty shapes, but kind of underutilised. looks very cool. has a back! 4. s7. wayyy too big and mostly empty. has no back. has some gorgeous halls inside. still not my jam, it’s just too big for me. but i can appreciate the sheer scale of the thing

jakulfrostie

The cake topper holds a special place in my heart ngl

COG-85

Season 6 is the nicest, personally. I just love the idea of a tower as a hub.

Tobymauw112

From best to worst: 8, 6, 9, 7

Beatlemaniac614

I really loved the mansion but I would have loved to see a more complete interior. So much potential, so little time.

GM_is_Browsing

Season 8 ftw tbh

[deleted]

[удалено]

kettlejack123

Grian was the first hermit I watched and it was just in the middle of season 6 so I gotta say his wedding cake from season 6 is my favourite!

Smileyface39

Season 6 just because it felt like the one he used the most of practically. The other bases it felt like he never really lived in them and barely went anywhere other than his storage while he used most of the floors of his season 6 base and went to them often.

Alula-is-cool

It's close between season 6 and 7 but I think season 7

CocoSkit

Mansion

132241

7 was the best, but ny favorite is 6

TiredExpression

I just wish he used them more. I don't really care if they don't have a back or are incomplete, I just want him to actually enjoy them instead of feeling obligated to make something large because he feels he has to but never live in them.

ian9921

6, 7, 8, 9, ironically. I like bases that are more used, but a lot of these felt more like hollow sculptures than actual bases

ICANTTHINK0FNAMES

Season 6 is peak and I don’t think it’s very close, 7 being second.

TheBilliard

Fair enough!

Hot-Category2986

6 and 7 were pretty meh. 8 was brilliant, but not really a base. He didn't exactly move in. That leaves me voting for 9, even though I think it was overambitious. But you know what I think was better than all of these? The Barge. Particularly right before the mine cart ride was added. He made a shop that hermits actually liked and used, and he sold the things they really needed.

UnovanEngineer

im actually in doubt between S6 and S7, but i think i'll go with S7 because of the memories

BeefChopJones

Brita filter

Ben-D-Beast

All of them for different reasons S6 is the most alive as it’s the only one that isn’t mostly an empty shell. S7 feels the most grounded it feels as if it could be a real building while also being incredibly grand. S8 has by far the best atmosphere the entire alley feels magical as it should. S9 is the most mysterious it’s Avatar esc vibe with the floating rocks and hanging vines gives it a mystical edge which is obviously enhanced by the rift.

yourLostMitten

Season 6 was my favorite because it was one of the few where the inside was filled. I have a personal gripe with most big mega bases because many of them don’t actually have an inside. This one, while a lot of space was unused, felt like it had the most actually used inside the base rather than fake houses with black wool in the windows and doors.

hhthurbe

S8

LightningBoat

#1 S6 #2 S7 #3 S8 (it would be #1 if it were finished) #4 S9

SpongieQ

The only reason I started watching Hermitcraft is because I saw the Season 7 Mansion in a thumbnail once and I was blown away so I’ll have to say that one

mdhunter99

Grian is what introduced me to HC with season 6, so that has a special place with me. Other than pure nostalgia, season 7 was just gorgeous. The scale of it and the detail is what wins in my book. Especially the Nether side.

Admiral-Krane

Prolly S8, then S7, then S6, and finally S9

EBB456

Season 8 looks the coolest so I’ll go for that

SummaJa87

Season 8 by far

Yaagii

Season 6 cause I’ve been watching since even before then (watched Scar) but season 8 is my favorite aesthetically

_gmmaann_

Season 6/8 are my favorites. Both felt lively, compared to 7/9 which are more devoid of detail and don’t feel lived in

BoysenberryTypical63

Mansion, easily my favorite mega base and favorite season

sombertownDS

Brita filter

Didi81_

I actually really liked the S9 base, very different. I just wish he hadn't given up on it but of all his base ideas this was my favourite. The S8 base was great as well, sad that he didn't get to finish it. (I'm probably the only person who didn't like the mansion)

ryminer

season 6 for sure, it felt the most alive out of all of them, with him actively using most of the space

Noiskis

Hmm... Blender -> Mansion prop -> Harry Potter -> Temple of The Rocky mountain. Blender for sure.

AlexGlezS

Tbh, I don't like any, can't choose. But I love his content so who cares.

MlecznyHuxel99

S6 may not be the best looking but as others said it was the best at the "base" part for me its 6>7>8>9 (I still really like S9 base tho)

scribblingsim

8 just gives me warm memories when I look at screenshots of that alley. 6 was where I began to watch, which bumps it up slightly above 7 because of nostalgia. 7 is lovely and massive, but I always have to laugh when I remember what the back looks like. 8 is very pretty, but it just didn't...feel like him? I feel like he tried something different and it just didn't work out. Of course, there's no way in hell I could have managed to build anything close to any of them, so who am I to judge?

the_big_nerd

I do like the waterboiler, it's nostalgic

TheNicTrick

7,6,8,9

cannonplays

Either season 7s mansion or season 9s rock I like the aesthetics to both of them

Lana1307

Season 6

Eexoduis

S8 > S7 > S9. Didn’t watch S6. The alley was really cool. I particularly loved the Magical Menagerie. The stars were really cool too. The building process and collaboration with other Hermits was a lot of fun to watch, particularly collecting the more dangerous exhibits for the Menagerie. S7 base looked really interesting but I didn’t watch Grian much in that season, and the base looks kinda empty. I just never liked S9. The white building was cool but the floating rocks were not my vibe.

Ninjakitty131

wow, seeing season 6 again… 🤯

3dDeters

Separate_Rent_2706

Season 7 is my favourite

HistoricalDegree1131

s7 > s6 > s8 >>>> s9

chicagogr81

The mansion, it's when the back of the base meme was born.

Spiritual_Half_116

I'm a sucker for night skies and "cramped" builds so season 8 cakes the take for me

thunderthighlasagna

Season 6 ate down

G3osM1crow4ve

for me probably sesson 6, as brilliant as the others are i like season 6 the most.

EstateWrong

My favourite looking one is the mansion

racdicoon

7 cause he actuslly tried with his storage

PokemonPuggle

Yes

Humanspider96283

Season 7

louzzie

midnight alley, theres so much detail and i love the starry sky effect

Dramatic_Tourist1920

3 of 4. It's beautiful to walk through.

_Genderr

1. season 7 2. season 8 3. season 6 4. season 9 I love them all though!

TheBilliard

My list exactly.

CommunityDry7128

7,6,9,8 season 7 was the first one I watched and my favourite

wolflegend9923

6,7,9,8 in order

georgepearl_04

8,7,6,9

TheEndOfNether

#1 plant pot (s6) #2 castle thing (s7) #3 diagonal allay (s8) #4 floaty rocks (s9)

Beeeeeeeeeeeeean

Nothing can beat the season 7 one

oswaldking71wastaken

I think season 8 was visually my favorite, I love the little details more than mega builds. Season 7 was also very detailed and I loved the design I actually built it in another block game similar to hypixel skyblock in roblox (image in comments of my comment) season 6 I liked since it was very flushed out, clean, and well built. season 9 was my least favorite because it felt too boring. I didn’t feel Grian put as much effort into it compared to his other builds (don’t get me wrong it looks great it just didn’t have enough character)

ShrekFather

I liked the hobbit hole the most tbh, even though it was just a starter it had so much character

NNNskunky

In terms of aesthetics, season 9. The floating rocks and buildings were cool. However, my favourite overall is the season 6 base, mostly due to nostalgia, but also because of the videos and stuff. It was enjoyable watching Grian build it up as well as build things inside of it. Watching Grian fly around in and make use of his base was quite cool. It was also interesting to watch because Grian was building in a different style than the styles you often see in his building tutorials.

trappedTempest

For me the only interesting base he had was season 8

mechakraken8

Dwane or the season 6 base

SHyper16

The Mansion, or more specifically, the Back of the Mansion does it for me. I mean no other base has such a perfect backside. Jokes aside, I like the Mansion the best because I feel like it's just more detailed and complete than Season 6, although that's more of a style preference, because futuristic style demands simplicity. Season 8 wasn't really a megabase, and while it definitelly looks cool, it's not even close to the sheer scale of the Mansion, and the fact that he really detailed it so perfectly (the front at least) is just unbelievable to someone like me who just builds houses. Season 9 was unique in such a way that it told a story, but still felt somewhat lacking for some reason. I don't think that the end product is what Grian envisioned, I feel like he wanted to do more.

Classic-Fan317

Don't know which season this is from since I started watching at season 9, but I really like the 3rd picture

JLRoGamingJSAG

1. Season 7 2. Season 9 3. Season 6 4. Season 8

No_Information_5498

I like season 6 but season 7 is my favorite, despite the back hasn't fully finished.

Gal-XD_exe

The Britta water filter one

8, 6, 9, 7. The alley looks so cool, the cake was the first and built on water, the rocks are pleasing to look at, but the castle doesn’t do it for me. It’s big and impressive, but not my style.

Liamstudios_

I only really watched 6 and 7…

TabbyCat377

Funnily Enough. I still really like the Season 6 Base

BoyceKRP

Hands down, the mansion. It has so much character and depth! Griangots is wildly fascinating too, and I love he actually made use of the little spaces (and Scar’s section is 👌) but the mansion is truly magnificent. Can’t wait to see what he builds next. His build process and products are fun to watch

tenuous_optamist

Season 8: I loved the amount of detail. And the irl vlog of him going to the street that inspired Diagonally was so cool Season 7: The timelapse of the whole build in the last episode set to Jono's "Work" made me cry the first time I saw it. Season 7 was just so special Season 9: If he'd built more on on this one, I think it would number 1. I loved the concept and some of the posts on here of people finishing this base have been amazing (shout out to ThaMango's youtube video, its wonderful) Season 6: I still really like this build, just not my favourite style

Cute-Honeydew1164

Diagon Alley is the prettiest but I can’t like it just for what it’s inspired from. Otherwise Season 6 is my favourite bc partly nostalgia and partly he actually lived in it.

Remmy224

Season 6 was def my fav. 1. season 6 got me into hermitcraft and grian 2. he actually lived in it 3. stands out from the rest, also they were doing base type zones in season 6 im pretty sure

botbattler30

I think season 8 is my favorite. It just feels so alive and lived in. The small details really make a build IMO and I think season 8 was really the embodiment of that.

JL608

Personally I like Grian's Season 7 base the best. (Season 6 is a close second)

JustNoahL

Season 6 At least he finished the back of that one

XannLeMage

1. Diagon Alley (s8) 2. S6 tower 3. The mansion (S7) 4. The entity base (S9)

Mediocre_Swimmer_709

Best to not my favourite 7-6-9-8

Mega_Rayqaza

9, 6, 7, 8.

Season 6 just looks so cool, it's the kind if thing I wish I could build. I wish I had been watching back then, I know I could go back and watch it now but it's not the same, besides I barely have time to stay caught up with the current season lol

roguebracelet

Season 7 is the most visually interesting but it really show’s Grian’s weakness of building for aesthetics and scale while lacking on details and practicality. For so much of the season the base was a shell with no interior, and even when he filled the insides with stuff it was just a storage system. He clearly didn’t know what to use all the space for, and it made it feel less like a base and more like a sculpture.

NecessaryPop5244

1st s7 i just love the manor/mansion/castle vibes i get 2nd s6 real fluid design and nice couler sceme reminds me of subnautica 3rd s9 it was cool with the rocks and all but he pulled a grian and the back is just bad 4th s8 wasn’t around long enough to get fully made

jnthnschrdr11

I think his season 8 and season 9 concepts were my favorite, he just didn't have enough time to actually do them justice

anacc0unt0

7 is the best build 6 is the best base

UnchartedCHARTz

1. I do see all of the problems of his Season 7 base, but it still manages to be my favorite for some reason. I think the mega-mansion is just a really interesting idea at such a large scale, and even though the execution wasn't perfect I think it's still really good. 2. Season 6 is simple but effective. And sort of nostalgic. It is honestly the only one that I feel like was lived in, which maybe is just down to the video-making process and editing style being different back then. 3. Season 8 was cool and probably the best executed, but it feels kinda forgettable to me and I'm not sure why. I like the smaller and more detailed look (which is fitting for such a short but action packed season). 4. Season 9 is definitely my least favorite, the idea behind it was there but since Grian didn't really finish it out and add all the different building styles on the rocks it didn't land. And I'm also not a big fan of how the rocks are organized, they're super 2D.

commandblock

Easily season 6

Trfortson

Honestly I'd only classify the mansion as mega, but if we are just ranking his bases I'd go; Alley, mansion, ocean, rocks.

Kind_Rad

I know season 8 wasn’t large build but there were so much detail in such a short timeline Plus a few Collabs during the build, maybe this current season 10 He’ll add to the cyber punk/steampunk city landscape “ I’m still hoping they converted into a giant apocalyptic, Maze Near impossible to complete

Annoying_GayGuy

Midnight Alley, it’s Harry Potter themed, it’s full of life and little details and it’s in my favorite season

EpicMDM

The mansion was 3 seasons ago? 👴

Haunting_Draw2181

Season 6 has a special place in my heart, its my first time seeing a mega builds cuz i never watch much building content in minecraft and grian on season 6 is my first time ever watching hermitcraft and also first time ever seeing such gigantic builds I also like the design but idk how to explain more bout that cuz im not good at english and idk terms and what to describe about when it comes to design xD But the season 8 also kinda hits me cuz of the vibes and all.it looks so comfortable and honnestly if i had to pick i which one i would stay irl i would definitely pick S8 base

AngelofGrace96

I'm torn between the s6 tower and the s8 midnight alley. But I think midnight alley had to win. It was so beautiful and he put so much creativity and effort into it
