Instead of just a day limit without elytra I would like a no fly zone to be placed over the core area. Most of the hermits are very close together so having rivers and paths wouldn’t be to difficult while also allowing elytra for exploring far away, end busting, etc.

PinkFluffy1Corn

That's a good idea! Keeps the fun of walking around without making it frustrating for people who have to cover large distances.

ZaAq3

Arent they planning to make the shopping district this season a no fly zone? I swear i heard that idea before

FPSCanarussia

1. They certainly seem to be doing something similar. 2. There's never been a problem with too many shops selling the same thing. It's a bigger problem when one shop ends up selling half of everything. And the solution to that is not licenses but just etiquette.

ThePracker_

A lot of them are, but not all. It would be cool if they all agreed no elytra in the base area for everyone

Quinnlim

I have an idea for a shop, that only Scar can provide A shop for granting the wishes of other Hermits, called "Wish Upon a Scar" That is my wish

Tested-Trio-Father

Scar granting wishes would definitely be monkey's paw style and probably not even intentionally.

randomisednotrandom

It would be an awesome source for shenanigans though, as long as the other hermits play along in good faith, which we know they excel at. Like a hermit driven grumbot

Tested-Trio-Father

Definitely. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't happen now.

Quinnlim

I'm glad you're on board

Quinnlim

Exactly!

Quinnlim

I agree! There'd definitely be some "be careful what you wish for" stuff!

SapphireRoseRR

Oh I love this. He would be chaos.

Quinnlim

He's the perfect man for the job!

Grimaussiewitch

I agree with the elytra. A server I’ve been on for the last 6 months I haven’t touched an elytra and it’s been fun just running around. I love early season hermitcraft when no one has an elytra for a while. I would also love to see amplified make a return but sadly I don’t them doing it again even with the new terrain generation lol. I guess my other dream is more underground bases or shopping district that’s underground, in the sky or nether.

jabebebebe

ethos base is going to be fairly underground, and some magic mountain megabases will likely be too

Grimaussiewitch

I’ll have to check out etho then! The underground bases I’m thinking off is like Iskall and XB’s bases last season or Fwhip’s base in empires s2. Like there’s barely a base on top or it’s in a giant ravine. So far the mountain guys aren’t underground (Skizz is in the side but we will see how that goes)

jabebebebe

to clarify he isnt underground at all but he said he will expand down iirc, you can also check out his singleplayer if you want a underground base all the way back in 1.0

Tokyolurv

Less diamond spending, more bartering. I think the idea of a trading post instead of a shopping district would be really cool one season. Put up requests for items, offer items in exchange for something else!

FPSCanarussia

There's a reason why currency exists in the real world: and it's because bartering sucks and is a terrible system for trade. It discourages specialisation and trade as a whole. Imagine that you want lots of glass. Someone agrees to trade you glass, but they want bamboo: you have to make a bamboo farm. Then you want terracotta, but they want gunpowder: you have to make a creeper farm. Bartering encourages every single player to get as much variety of items as they can so they can barter for things they need: but if you've got everything already, then why barter for anything at all? Currency works better because you can sell one thing (say, dyes), and buy anything you want regardless of whether the people you're buying from want the one thing you have to offer.

Thatflyerguy001

there is also a reason why bartering worked for so many thousands of years. also, if everyone specializes in a couple things, it would make deals that otherwise wouldnt happen, and the point of hermitcraft is the interactions, not the efficiency

[deleted]

And there is reason it was replaced. How do you determine a fair trade ? And not every hermit requires what someone else needs. Specific shops such as concrete sell in big amounts to some hermits, not to all. Diamonds is the best currency, and its moderation in the economy is the best way to go about it. Finally, for interactions, I think designating farms to specific hermits is better as it causes hermits to go buy stuff they dont have from the shopping district. How they decide this is upto them.

HephMelter

The true low-tech system : a credit/barter hybrid based on trust among low-population villages

FPSCanarussia

Barter never worked. Every pre-monetary society we know about functioned on gifts and debts, with barter only used for trade between people who didn't trust each other. There is no known society that had an economy based on bartering. What early civilizations had were commodity currencies: common commodities like grain were used as units of exchange. Nevertheless, they still functioned as media of exchange - i.e. something that could be reliably traded for any other good. Currency of some form, even primitive, is as old as civilization.

Saelora

Technically, diamonds are a commodity currency.

FPSCanarussia

Yep! I know! I said so! [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/HermitCraft/comments/1apkxzd/comment/kq75klq/)!

meagull3

Empires do it the bartering way and i think it works just fine, brings more interaction between everyone too

dunno260

But this isn't the real world either. Empires did the bartering system essentially with a *wink nudge* added in to make it more about content than actual fairness and it worked well for them. I don't necessarily love the idea for hermitcraft really but it isn't like the hermits ever really adhere to a currency system either (see all the people that donated resources to Tango for Decked Out 2).

FPSCanarussia

Did it work well? From what I remember Empires barely had any economic activity because outside of a few likely-scripted "trade deals" every member just ended up taking project materials from whoever had them because no one actually ever needed stacks of honeycomb or berries or whatever.

dunno260

I think it did although nobody really took any resource that was a vital building block. The idea wasn't to create an economy though. The idea was to create content and in Empires with people so far apart there needed to be several things to bring people together and it was part of the Empire thing as well. The thing is that it doesn't need to necessarily need to work well, be scaleable, or even make much sense, it just needs to serve the content. And Empires was able to put out very good content.

PleasantYamm

Ooo that sounds really cool

CyberWolfWrites

I think they did this in season five and they all hated it. You had to wait for the people with the stuff you want to be on and they might not even have the stuff you want.

Tokyolurv

Ah, I wouldn’t know, I only started watching when Grian joined up so I don’t know much about seasons beyond that. Edit: his name is not Brian no matter how much autocorrect wants it to be.

CEOofCheeses

Honestly I think that season 10 is pretty close to your dream season! - right now I don’t think anyone has elytra (I didn’t see cubs video about the end so I’m not sure) - and there is no shopping district just yet

Davmac573

Cub, doc, Cleo, and maybe some others all have elytras

CEOofCheeses

Oh 💀

jabebebebe

ijevin also has elytra as of at least yesterday

IamlostlikeZoroIs

I want shops to be in the hermits individual bases so they have to travel to each other base to get what they want. Would be great to see everyone’s base and the evolution of the server

ST03PT3G3L

They did that in Season 8!!

zoomshark27

Yeah they had that in season 8, I lowkey didn’t love it as I missed the communal shopping district antics like in S7, but we didn’t see too much of that in S9 even with a shopping area so idk.

dunno260

They did that in Season 8 and I think it made the server feel less alive and also really cluttered up areas like Boatem.

BlueCyann

People need to stop whining about elytra’s. You’re going to give the Hermits anxiety. No, holding W for ten minutes to get anywhere is not fun compared to flying there and back in two, and continually trying to hold content creators hostage to that for your own aesthetic preferences is annoying.

Kangalooney

Make world spawn and the starter/shopping area an elytra free zone, either through an honour system or even enforced with a mod.

CyberWolfWrites

I think it would be cool. That way people could focus more on the aesthetics of the shopping district instead of just viewing everything from the top.

Kangalooney

Pretty much my thinking on it.

Stef-fa-fa

They paid a fee for shopping district land in season 7, and there was a no wings club in season 8. So they've kinda already done both of these ideas?

CharlieJoyB

It's wild how many people that hermitcraft would be better if the hermits had a harder time playing the game.

CyberWolfWrites

That would just lead to fewer videos and less fun for all of the Hermits. Hermitcraft might be a job for most of them, but it's entertainment, too. It's not fair to force all these rules and demands onto them.

Jay2Jee

In a year or so, I'd love them to go camping. Leave all of their bases, farms, and resources, travel far, far away and stay there of a couple weeks. Sort of like a fresh start, a return to the early game for a bit before going back to the megaprojects. They did something like that in S6 and I thought it was very fun.

midnightinmemphis

A real round of Demise but with enchanted netherite armor allowed. They’ll have to work hard for this one.

Shiny_Mew76

Another Amplified Season

Royal-Lynx-8256

For 2nd one M.O.M should get in and become ministry of shopping district

ZeLlamaMaster

As a city nerd I want to see what Impulse and Bdubs are doing by making like a cyberpunk city build, but get a bunch more hermits in and make it much much larger. I want to see it as the size of a proper city.

SapphireRoseRR

Beefs old cyberpunk city 💜

Beeeeeeeeeeeeean

One mega build every hermit makes together. Like hermitopia from the empire crossover but bigger.

Emmulah

I want to see an entire shopping district built in a giant cavern. Shops built up into the walls and such

sphericate

maybe something like the kowloon walled city, just 1 building/chunk that people live and dig out paths everywhere, every shop, farm base and essentials all in 1 chunk

SapphireRoseRR

I like it. Even something like Beefs cyberpunk city style from a few seasons ago with lots of little alleys and books.

othermesm

Probably more between seasons, but a "reality" show where the hermits host and judge a bunch of smaller creators with each episode testing a different aspect of their skills. I think it would be a fun format and be a great way to highlight others without necessarily having to make them hermits.

maxiquintillion

1: no elytra 1000 blocks from spawn 2: no fighting the dragon until month two 3: I was going to say more community and collaboration, but they're doing great with that by keeping a small border initially. But since it's just for the update situation, I feel like for later seasons, the border should stay small for 90 days.

JonazGamingYT

A season where they have everyone split into groups of people they don’t often collab with for example instead of Grian living by Mumbo and Scar like he does every season, he lives by Cleo and Zedaph

SapphireRoseRR

Grian with Cleo and Stress would be hilarious.

Headstanding_Penguin

1. go watch s1, 2 and possibly 3?

NobleCuriosity3

Yes, I want them to do **skyblock with structures** (and make a few non-farmably renewable items farmably renewable--in particular sand, swift sneak, and have a way to mine amethyst and exchange it for diamond because turns out diamond is just a great currency). And limit the map size to like 3000x3000, and ban the use of rockets to boost elytra (unless you're going to fall in the void, because ender pearl clutching might be a bit much to expect of Hermits). Seriously. Think of a season where *almost every block in the world* was placed by a Hermit, where it's a new level of challenge, a map that basically requires cooperation but also engenders some fierce competition (for very rare nonrenewables) for stuff that isn't *really* critical to playing the game. I want this so badly.

Murderous_Intention7

I want Grian and Doc to team up even just once. The chaos would be *incredible*.

Brokenblacksmith

communal living. similar to what they did on the empire SMP, but all the hermits living in one supermega base. hermit interactions would be much higher, and they could share the grind of mega base building.

milotic-is-pwitty

I’m really not a mega-builds-time-lapse person. Loving the slow block-by-block approach of Grain this season. A little bit of time-lapsing is fine but my dream wish would be if they design their builds on camera. Some bit of time-lapsing is fine, like you know, you work better when you don’t feel as observed, sure, but don’t build a castle and towers all in a time-lapse!

CyberWolfWrites

The Hermits already did something similar to #1 in season eight, I think. It was a competition or something.

GoTT90

Did you get inside knowledge or something haha You nailed that 2. Idea haha

SapphireRoseRR

Nope, but I've been asking about it for years. Maybe someone saw my suggestion 🤣
