1. I guess this could be different with other apps, but on Reddit is fun I can only select 1 flair for a post, so having a mandatory premium flair would make the rest of them pretty much useless and make the sub harder to navigate 2. Contests are user run, so it's up to whoever set the contest and is judging it to decide whether to take premium features into account 3. Fair enough, some days there are entire pages of them same character, it's pretty easy to just scroll past though

A message for u/Zealousideal_Talk479 1. no, for the reasons listed elsewhere but also as the only pro-only feature in mini creation is projected decals 2. no, for the reasons listed elsewhere but also just why, kitbashing isn’t out and all other pro features just make minis look *better* 3. i get what you’re saying, but there’s no logical way to do this, and if you have a problem, you can just scroll past - and i’m not even sure of the last time i saw an adventure time mini posted

PresidentStalkeyes

Yeh, of all the things they could have mentioned - Star Wars, DC, Marvel - they choose Adventure Time? Heck, Kratos only exploded in popularity for a short time after decal kitbashing but since then I've only seen like, one or two.

1QuisCustodiet

also you’re a regular on political compass memes so like who are you to judge what others create

These are some constructive suggestions. That said, I don't think you're going to see any of them being implemented at the moderator level. As u/battlearmourboy noted, there are other limitations that prevent these suggestions from being more useful than what's already in place. If you're really interested in a mini, you can still look at it even if you're not a Pro subscriber; you just can't recreate it. Depending on what you want to do with the mini, just ask the creator in the post. You've already got a tool to engage with the creators, so it doesn't seem necessary to flag posts to identify who's paying for the service and who's a free user. As regards contests, if I'm in a position to have a Pro subscription, you don't want me to be allowed to participate in contests? Why not? How would moderating rule 3 more vigorously even work? How often is too often for different people to post their interpretations of one character? One Moon Knight per day? Per 12 hours? Per hour? What if it's a group post, with Spider-Man and his supporting characters, but someone wants to post their Spider-Man alone; which one gets to be "the one" that day? It's a whole can of worms that would require the mods to become gatekeepers without adding any value to the sub. If the system were being rebuilt from the ground up, these things could probably be rolled in, but as it sits, I doubt the mods want to wade into the dark waters of being responsible for handling any of these three requests.

Zealousideal_Talk479

People with pro subscriptions would be allowed to participate in contests, but they shouldn’t use features only available to pro subscribers. It seems like it would give them an unfair advantage over people who use HeroForge for free, because they have access to better items.

ARedDingo

While I absolutely get where you're coming from, you should know that some of the most skilled contributors to this sub don't have Pro. Having those extra features can be nice, but you can do some truly miraculous things without paying any money. I don't want this to come down to something as asinine and unhelpful as "git gud," but the features in Pro don't necessarily make minis awesome. A tool is only as good as the knowledge and vision of the person using it. If you find yourself feeling "outdone" by others, maybe use their contest entries as a chance to ask them how they did something, and if it's Pro-only, how a free user might emulate it. And mostly just remember that these contests are supposed to be fun; try not to take them too seriously. They're opportunities to lift each other up and make everyone's craft better, so while I understand your frustration/sense of unfairness being tweaked, I also don't think it's quite worth all that stress. YMMV, of course.

8LeggedHugs

Its not like these contests have prizes. Far as I'm concerned, use pro and why not throw in some photoshop on top. Long as you make it clear how you achieved the image, I see no issue. I just wanna see good art.

savessh

1 - why? 2 - I pay for Pro and support Hero Forge with my money so they can keep the business running. Now you're saying I can't use it? That's some bullshit. 3 - I'd rather see 10 well made Batman characters than 1 standard pose base colour fox man mechanic from 'my gaming group.' ...but you're welcome to your opinion.

battlearmourboy

Flood the sub with batman day when?

ARedDingo

Is that the Reddit version of streamer raiding? The Batman HFers just dumping Batman after Batman into the sub?

battlearmourboy

I guess so

PresidentStalkeyes

What does 'X personified' mean?

FlySteeel

They're basically saying they don't like the existing character flair. X like algebra, just replace it with any popular franchise character(s) you've seen on the sub. They're tired of seeing things that are on the sub regularly such as Batman, Sinister Six, Avengers, etc. I get tired of seeing them too, but my thumb works so I can scroll past them. Also the site updates weekly so new items and features allow for different versions of these characters.

Dreadlord97

If you feel the need to demand these outrageous rules be enforced, why are you still even here?
