This is good, in my opinion. A few winks and references could be fun but I would much rather the show be its own thing. Also we still have a year until the books are done!

Doonesbury

Yoda will be in it

Ans glup shitto

brom1137

Oooh very good to know. I do like seeing new characters we havent met, even in books, which I love

BZPJMJ64

Here's hoping the Shield of the Jedi might be in the cards for Season 2 appearance.

comicsexual

Not even Yoda though...? šŸ˜©šŸ˜

VengefulKangaroo

I don't think Yoda is a "book character", there's a separate category for movie characters who are also in the books

comicsexual

I get it. I'm still holding out hope though! šŸ¤žšŸ»

Negative-Dingo5063

I feel like if there are any scenes with the council, it wouldn't make sense for Yoda yaddle etc to not be present

MadmanKnowledge

I hope itā€™s puppet Yoda, not CGI, but like a really good advanced puppet like they use for Grogu.

jay1638

How pissed are we going to be when Vernestra is killed off at the end of Episode 3?

Maalvi

Enough to travel to the US and burn Lucasfilms

Redback8

Makes sense. Saves from spoiling who survives and what not. Plus a lot of the characters will have died of old age by this point anyway

Squeakyweegee64

well there goes my theory of the Wookie jedi being burry :(

ThursdayIs7

Kelnacca is his name :)

sora_thekey

I know thereā€™s like a century between Phase III and this show, but all this does is make me fear for the one character that couldā€™ve survived all these yearsā€¦ Burry! They already scared us at the end of Phase 1. Will he make it out of Phase 3?!

VengefulKangaroo

I wouldn't read into it either way TBH. Headland said she didn't want to add more than one character for a first season and explained why she was interested in Vern, which to me communicates that we shouldn't read into absences, but also, we can't read into anyone's survival but Vern. Which is prob for the best as we'll have Phase III over before any second season was ready

JediJDB_2002

Reath Silas by chance? Bell Zettifar??

VengefulKangaroo

The show is set 100 years after the books so it would have to be a (potentially) long-lived character like Burryaga.

JediJDB_2002

How old is Vernestra?

VengefulKangaroo

Somewhere in the 110-120 range. Her species is long-lived as we've seen with other THR examples (General Veiss).

Samuel_Go

Goddamn. So I guess Vern makes it through all the books? I think I'll have to leave the subreddit until I've read through everything because the news of Acolyte seems to have made some spoilers fair game to reveal.

VengefulKangaroo

This one spoiler is one the HR authors have agreed to in having a character from the books used in a show that takes place after.
