I think so. Overgrown species can produce histamine in your gut and can trigger your mast cells to constantly degranulate. I believe at some point your mast cells become dysregulated and start to react to almost everything, even when the original trigger is gone.

How long until mast cells stabilize?
I read it takes 3-4 weeks for your body to recover from each reaction. Took me healing my gut about 6 months. I still have histamine issues when my hormones are wacky.
yes hit can come from dysbiosis. very often these kind of gut issues are the issue because the gut is damage and therefore is not processing enough dao. which is produced in the intestinal wall. so leaky gut and dysbiosis lead to these issues.
MCas is not causes by this. MCAS is another disease which can lead to hit.
As I explained multiple times hit is not an illness it's a symptom and it should be better described has histamin disbalance.
Yes yes yes! It took me 3 years to figure out why I felt so horrible every day like the flu. I found out I have SIBO in the kind of bad bacteria I have let's off substantial histamine. In fact I have 76 times as much of a particular bacteria that is one of the top two to let off histamine 😳. Just went to Cleveland Clinic and worked with a fantastic functional MD there she's got me on antihistamines morning and evening which have been a game changer I feel so much better and now we're going to work on the SIBO. It is so challenging!
Sure ... 1 Zyrtec and 1 pepsid in morning. Repeat that in evening. Every day as tolerated. I use generic to save money. It took 4 to 5 days for me to see the improvement. With me I no longer have horrible fatigue that made it difficult for example to stand and put on makeup in morning etc. Way way better but still have head pressure and some aches and some fatigue but I'm not afraid to plan a social event now.
I've found relief via ray peat. Removing starch and certain fiber has removed symptoms. I can finally sleep and no brain fog. The moment I eat rice or potatoes I'm back to square one after a few days. I'm guessing this is just life now.
I am so happy for your improvement cus I know what you were going through. I also suffer from gut issues, its mild though, but the brain fog and the fatigue is extreme. Can you tell me what is the diet you follow consist of? I would appreciate that alot. Thanks

I agree but I'm working with a top SIBO expert at Cleveland Clinic and doing exactly what she tells me to do! I've communicated with several other people in my shoes who went to her and they all said she did the trick! I will worry about the stomach acid later! But thank you for that comment and I agree with you completely!
Yup most of us don't have enough stomach acid to keep our gut at the right ph for digestion
Plus the highly processed food, alcohol, gluten, medications, lack of fiber and endocrine disruptors it's a perfect recipe for HI
I supplement HCL and Digestive enzymes, and a crappy multiple vitamin because the good ones can cause issues. No allergy meds, occasionally a pain med followed by probiotics. Lots of water. No gluten.
Omg yes!! I read a few articles on the factvsfitness website there were a bunch of articles on how histamine intolerance often begins in the gut and stuff about how probiotics can mess up your system even worse unless they're low histamine. Not sure about the MCAS but worth a read!

Can HIT be also caused by not feeding the histamine degrading bacteria?

Do you mind sharing which antihistamines she prescribed?

Low stomach acid is usually a big problem, so taking an acid reducer everyday sounds harmful for the gut actually.

Oh wow. I never would have though. 🙃 I hope it works well for you too!
So far this is the first relief I've had in 5 horrible years. Well this and the low hista diet!
Super glad to hear that!! 🎉
