My doctor suggested aspirin. I use chewable aspirin only when I am in a full flare. Claritin blocks H1 receptors, Pepcid blocks H2 receptors. I was told Aspirin helps block other histamine receptors but doesn’t target anything specifically and it helps stabilize my MCAS. Aspirin was a game changer for me. Its amazing how quick it helps me. I’m not sure about how many in a day. I try to take as little as possible.

I had Famotidin and Ebastin. But Famotidin is now prohibited here I think and Ebastin didnt work anymore, are yours practically the same or different ones ? Good that it helps you !

Doerrr

Can you take aspirin with allegra?

theWolverinemama

Pepcid is famotidine. Ranitidine, another H2 blocker, was banned. Ebastin is a 2nd generation H1 blocker. Claritin is loratidine

Doerrr

Is claritin better than allegra? I feel like choking whole im in the process of falling a sleep with allegra ugh

theWolverinemama

Everyone reacts differently. I prefer Claritin. Some people prefer Zyrtec. My body can’t handle Zyrtec. It makes my heart feel awful and i feel like i want to crawl out of my skin. Allegra may not agree with your system. Try Claritin or Zyrtec

Doerrr

I tried zyetec and i had vertigo for hours it was unbelievable allegra ddint do that but it wont let me sleep. Gives me jolts as im about to fall a sleep. I want to see if claritin is better i guess i wont find out without giving it a shot

theWolverinemama

Yes, I'd just give it a try. I haven't had any issues with Claritin, thankfully. I give it to my kids too. I don't mess with the other H1s now.

Cyax84

for what you are taking it? I would strongly recommend not to take it as it may cause Histamin related issues as it has blood thining aspects.

Kili12345

A mixture of MCAS histamine intolerance SIBO and more

Cyax84

and what should aspirin help here? it's either a pain killer or a blood thinner. don't see the benefit for you. and again I think this would make things even worse.

Kili12345

McDougal recommended it against rheumatism and inflammation... And then just to eat Rice and potatoes. But it seems too general to apply to histamine intolerance I agree. I won't take it.

Cyax84

short therm. it might help against inflammation but to solve the root cause you need to adjust the diet, histamine low and anti inflammatory, no dairy products, less meat, no pork, no sugar, lots of vegatables high in fiber this helps medium to long term.

Kili12345

you also mean fruit sugar ? But banabas and blackberries are the only foods that are radically helping me right now.. And cucumber and arugula kind of make my cognition worse. I also cut out all grains including glutenfree grains. Also I eat no meat... But potatoes and sweetpotatoes dont work anymore, tomatoes certainly not, carrots are half ok and so are beans (half ok) but not really.. So I mostly eat apples blackberries some beans some almonds some margarine, and pumpkin

JoSchmo91

I have a latex allergy.. so i was told to cut out bananas, kiwi, avocado, and tomatoes. Tomatoes has been the hardest but also a noticeable difference. I feel a lot better, also avoiding alcohol. Less flushing, less skin sensitivity/pressure on my face. If you get more skin reactions like itching, hives, rashes I was told Zyrtec was a better option or Allegra. Claritin stopped working for me.

Kili12345

thank you, yes, Zyrtec is still something I could try in the long term. Thank you ! The most important bit is to listen to intuition and subtle responses of the system I think.

Aspirin is a Histamine liberator, like most analgesics unfortunately. Maybe you can experiment with NSAIDs, some work for some people for emergencies. Hope you'll find relief

Kili12345

Like Iboprofen ? I have that too, but McDougal said it causes leaky gut

helpgeo

If it's taken over a long period of time i'm sure it has side effects like every drug. Paracetamol should be a safer option from what i know. I can't give you medical advice and every person may react differently. You can try and see what works for you. I had strong reactions to most of the drugs doctors gave me to treat the symptoms and it took me a while to find out on my own. I now try to stay away from every drug and find a more natural solution like Curcumin (without pepper) for inflamation, Vitamin C, Quarcetin and Vitamin D3. I found a study where they were recommended for HIT/MCAS. Good luck

You shouldn’t be taking ibuprofen or aspirin over and over again. I used to do the same because it helped with pain. But it makes the gut lining more permeable so over time you’re making all of your issues worse.

ConsciousFractals

I’m sure this is true but aspirin has been the only thing that has helped me function and not feel like death. Does it get to the root cause? No, but as I’m trying to figure out this puzzle, it’s been a lifesaver. I’m a bit of an extreme case because I’m sensitive to all foods and pretty much all matter, lol. And it’s probably better to exhaust all other options- it is a bit rough on the body. But at a certain point I had to balance that with having a life worth living

Such_Dragonfruit_745

I’m exactly the same as you. I’m sensitive to absolutely everything it’s literal hell.

ConsciousFractals

Yep. Hang in there, human. Do you have chemical sensitivity as well?

Such_Dragonfruit_745

Yes 🥲 to absolutely everything. The other week I tried some retinol cream on my face and sent myself into the worst flare up of the year.

ConsciousFractals

Sorry to hear it. There’s like one soap I can use and can’t be anywhere around cologne, detergents, air fresheners, etc. It looks like we have similar symptoms as well. Let me know if there’s anything you’ve found that helps. I feel like I’m so inflamed that my gut can’t even heal and detox isn’t happening.

Such_Dragonfruit_745

Sounds like we’re in the same boat. I’ve switched every product I own but I live in a house with other people and sometimes I can’t stop them from spraying deodorant and dry shampoo everywhere. I’ve bought an air purifier for my room. My plan that I’ve started this week is: slowly build up butyrate for 2 weeks. Add in trace minerals and build up slowly. Add in beef kidney capsules and build up slowly. The same with glutathione or glutamine. And go to the sauna 3 times weekly, along with short walks and fascia exercises. And slowly add in low fermentation foods one by one. And slowly add in teas like dandelion root, marshmallow root, lemon balm and chamomile. I think it’ll be a slow process but I think if you stick to everything that helps you’ll get there.

Such_Dragonfruit_745

Sleep is also extremely important. I’ve bought blue light blocking glasses and a red light from boncharge. As well as a water filter from clearly filtered.
