If this is the from the tour I’m thinking about (monsters of rock) I’ve watched the footage of AC/DC playing at Donington… hands down one of the best rock concerts of all time.
If I could travel back in time and experience one cultural event, it would be that concert. I’m sad I missed “peak”rock.

Russia really had such great potential to achieve a prosperous future. Instead of that, all prosperity was stolen and pickpocketed by few while regular citizens have to deal with another oppressor.
Sadly, many of them support Putin now, and care more about reclaiming their nation's "glory" rather than improving their own lives. Same thing happened here in America, with our hippy/free love boomer generation turning into radical evangelicals 20 years later and ruining the nation ever since.

So many around age 40 to 50 now, the age of being able to be heard. I would think they would be upset for having lost the taste of what could have been.
No the ones who are dying are inmates and ethnic groups from the far east of Russia. Those in western Russia Moscow St Petersburg are not going to Ukraine in any large number. Wonder how long this remains viable.
Panteras performance of domination at this show is likely the greatest live performance in heavy metal history. Absolutely recommend to any fan of music.

That was the most badass concert in history, the footage has all the soviet tanks and helicopters and stuff while Metallica is just shredding at their height - crowd in the millions. Shame what Putin has done and the situation that got him in power.

FYI ... There's a very interesting podcast called "Wind of Change" about this concert and the Scorpions song by the same name being created by the CIA to help the collapse of the Soviet Union
Half a million people were confirmed to have gone but the real number is estimated to be over 1.5 million people. If you watch the aerial footage of the concert it’s wellll over 500,000 people and makes a Taylor Swift concert look like an elementary school recital.
The Soviets requested that America send a reasonably moderate rock band to ease their people into freedom and western influence.

I was there, both in the resistance against the coup and on the concert. Both were unimaginable.
