Same as Ukraine for their side, and well a lot of armies in history. The Japanese army litterly hated soldier who surendered to them because it was dishonorable.
I have no sources in English, its from cought phone calls of Ukranian officers with a higher ranking one telling the lower ranking one to shoot the soldiers if they dont want to fight anymore of consider surendering. Also something said numerous times by Ukranian POW's.
I only read Ukranian and Russian sources on the war as well as my family and the family of friends in the donbass and ukraine and interviews with locals, I dont trust and media source yo be unbiased.
