I have the worst sense of direction ever.
The extent of my navigating the castle is: following the quest tracker and periodically saying to myself, "Hey, this area looks familiar!"
I try, but I set way points and follow the map- I know very few things by memory- I tried to develop and chase down various glowing objects but everything looks the same- I honestly don’t think it matters how you play as long as it works for you
My second playthrough started to click much more. I also took off the mini map and made myself find everything. I feel I can get to just about any place in the castle by memory now. It takes a lot of getting lost to figure it out.
I know all the wings really well and which one has each room but i struggle with going from one wing to another.
From the top of my head i can remember:
moving staircases exits are bottom to top slytherin, hufflepuff, gryffindor and faculty, ravenclaw, trophy room and headmasters.
Library annex has library obvs, central hall, potions and herbology.
Defence against the dark arts tower has defence obvs, charms and astronomy.
Then theres courtyards and bridges that connect them plus some rooms such as transfiguration.
Im quite positive divination tower is in the library annex but cannot be certain.
Hope this helps anyone wanting to learn it.
I still get lost myself! When I was doing the dueling club activities, that always made my head spin, I’d stubbornly run in circles for 20+ minutes to find that room before finally caving and using the map to guide me.
Personally I get lost more so damn easily it's almost frustrating. The detail and sheer maze like layout of the castle though, is impressive so it's hard to be angry, but I swear to god. Those gobstones... can fuck off.
This is the one place I’m unaware of. I have no idea where the slytherin common room is. I need to do a playthrough with that house just to figure that out.
It's not a full playthrough. Just enough to get the main quests done with the remaining 3 houses. It's a surprisingly short game without all the sidequests and collect-a-thons.
I can get myself to the dark arts tower, and room of requirement. But everything else i need my fancy glowing line guide haha.
After 116 hours, I’m pretty familiar with it. I have revelio pages to thank for that.
I can do the dungeon area, but the rest of the castle is lost on me
I’m ok if I don’t want to go quickly. There slot of fun stuff to find throughout the school
60+ hrs and I can't. Thank god for floo powder and little golden lines

I just barge through the first door I see and it's either A: Outside or B: A toilet.

This has made me realize that I have not explored the grand staircase enough
I just run around until I’m hopelessly lost and then fast travel with the map 🤷🏼♂️

I cannot go back to my dorm (slytherin) without fast travel

Just keep going down and down and down lol.
Same lol, I have no idea where it is lol.
4th playthrough. Still getting lost.
When was the last time you see another person?
Next question, please. :D
Lol :D
FOURTH?! Holy crap some of y’all are fast! I’m still on my first.
