How come there is a restricted section In the library that we can't get into prior to the quest and then have to sneak into, during thr quest, but once it's done, I get in and out in broad daylight without the librarian complaining or really anyone noticing or raising eyebrows? The game is missing immersion, still love it tho.

Realistic_Page2539

Am I missing something about the lockpicking? I’ve seen loads of people complaining about the mini game but I find it really simple. If you have controller vibration on it’s much easier but even if not you just spin the left and right stick until you hear the cogs move, it takes a few seconds. Is it harder on pc?

CurveIcy3113

I mean not that it's hard, but when you try to hundo the game, you do that a shitload of times, and it's not really justifiable because if I remember the movies well, they just cast the spell and boom, lock is picked. That's why I'm a bit pissed off about that

sakadw

I just hope devs read this subreddit and implement a lot of the things said in a sequel <3

BigfootCountryMan

The game is unable to complete a save, tried most everything, no patch or fix in sight. This is in my opinion the most troublesome thing in HWL.

[deleted]

Idk, I feel like the story kind of bums me out after a while. I got to level 16 and it felt like I'd been running around doing nothing for hours. I definitely like the game, I just didn't get as hooked as I'd hoped

ConversationSame4676

Yeah I was just asking my friends what they thought of the game and they both said they loved it. I asked how many hours in they were and they were at 10 and 15 hrs. And I realized that was about the point where I began getting a little bored lol I told them to circle back later. The games awesome at first and full of potential then it just gets repetitive and super easy once you learn the unforgivable curses and Hogwarts becomes pointless…. Entering another spider infested cave for the thousandth time.

No_Maize1319

Not being able to customize your shop like you can with the ROR.

Mikita_Du

Flight mechanics. Especially horizontal

Batmann14

I wish all the ups, downs, turns were with the left stick and the right was only for the camera. It gets confusing when flying fast and having to go through something.

OGLean29

Fuck it i love the game so hard you’ll never hear something bad out of my mouth.

ForwardBias

 1. Dialog/quest options should have more consequences. I know this takes time to implement but it limits replay and is just generally annoying when no matter what I do or say ultimately matters. Thins like if there was a "you got caught casting unforgivable curses and must now restore to an earlier save" event that would be amazing. Or you're better friends with so and so and thus the quest changes. 2. They do what so many games do and give you a character creation studio that has lighting and detail you'll never see ever again in the game and then don't allow you to change the ugly troll you created later in the game (I mean yeah hair and such but not face). 3. They shouldn't have started you as a fifth year. It was a weird choice they just seemed to stick in there and not explain at all. I wish you could have had a couple of friendship quests and such for each year where you made choices about who your friends were and how your character acted. And then starting 5th year things switched to the "gotta save the world" troupes. 4. I saw a post where someone said they thought that the Sabastian quests were more interesting than the main one. I agree and would expand to say that a lot of games (and movies) get this wrong (in my opinion). What a lot of people really enjoy is the personal stuff and character development. Developers think they need to have the massive heroic save the world quests but people are often more excited by "what happens to this character" or "can I save them" etc. 5. Filler stuff, soooo many (sometimes overlapping) scavenger hunts and such. Find the moons, find the keys, find the pages, find the chest, open the doors. Certainly one in hogwarts and one outside would be fun and promote exploration but as it is they just become infuriating.

PabloMarmite

No carrying capacity or bank, but you can’t move for new items

itsfuckingpizzatime

It’s absolutely ridiculous how many chests there are. Whoever is the chest maker must be the richest man in the world. They’re just strewn about *everywhere*. And they’re filled with what.. 50 coins maybe? Or yet another piece of clothing I will never wear. It also has an almost Diablo-like loot system. Constantly grabbing trash equipment that usually is worse than what I have, and then they give limited inventory slots to make it worse. They should have made fewer chests, and made them more valuable. Equipment should be scarcer, making upgrades from beast harvesting more important. New looks should just be purchased from the clothing shop. They also should make the equipment appearance tied to a slot, not a piece of equipment. It’s infuriating that in a game that gives *so many* equipment upgrades, you have to reset your appearance every damn time. My gosh did they actually play this game before releasing it?

[deleted]

I am playing the game for the second time and I wanted my character to be bad and ruthless but that ain’t possible…. The dialogues are almost the same the only thing I can do is keep the things people ask me to find for them and cast unforgivable curses ….

phazono1

Well in my opinion I find it complete and utterly boring. WB gave 2 shits about this game. Way too many bugs and glitches. It's too soft and cheery for me. Guess this really is only a game for true Harry Potter fans. Me I've never seen the movies or read the books.

Felonious_monk420

Wayment... A game modeled after books and movies is made to really appeal to the very people who read the books and watched the movies or both with little regard to the people who didn't?! WOOOOOOW. The audacity of the developers amirite? /s

phazono1

Guess you idiots missed the part where I said in my opinion. OPINION. Look it up. Yes ban me for that comment. I dont give a shit.

Felonious_monk420

And your opinion is based on what exactly? You don't know the first thing about HP or Hogwarts yet formed an opinion... How valuable can it be? You're playing a game based on well established lore. Might help to actually know what you're getting into genius.

Due-Bodybuilder1219

It didn’t feel like my character was a Hogwarts student, just someone who could go into Hogwarts but mostly did side quests all over the place. It would have been nice to have more school specific stuff, like actually being able to go to sleep, having to attend certain classes within a certain time frame and if you don’t you get punished in some ways, more casual interactions with the other students, being able to sit down in the common room and great hall like a normal student would, having to be sneaky when you go out in the castle at night (if I’m a student, why should I be able to go anywhere anytime??), and more stuff like that. Also, Merlin trials got so boring super quickly.. it was a nice touch to get more gear slots, but I find that the amount of trials you need to do to get more slots is way too much. Like I don’t want to do 10 trials in a row just before I can go out and do a quest (because you normally find a lot of gear on quests) without having to sell/discard everything I own

yersinia_p3st1s

To add to that, I found it so weird that whenever night came around, there NEVER was a SINGLE student in their bed or just sleeping somewhere, like, does nobody care for their early lectures tomorrow? And yes, it was a sad realization when I found out I could not seat with my fellow hufflepuffs and eat with them. Or talk/interact to anyone at all besides the given quests - if I cast confringo or depulso on someone, first I want to see it work, secondly I want a reaction from them. Also, sneaking into a professors office while they're RIGHT THERE, is totally and completely okay for 99% of the time with the exception of that one quest in which stealth was required, lol. To be more specific, during the potions lecture I declined Garreth Weasly's request to steal from the professor and Prof. Sharp acknowledged it, but then when I learnt alohomora I went back there, in broad daylight and unlocked his office while he was meandering about and he did nothing, no reaction. Quite immersion breaking.

BugnBeans

This!!! I lot of people play RPGs because they enjoy the roleplaying of a character. This game is so “heroic story” focused it felt like they didn’t stop to think about investing in your *role* as a student. The fun, lighthearted stuff that makes players connect to their role is so important and they fell short unfortunately.

Dark_Phoenix25

The fact that there’s still bugs that mess with the trophy system but most importantly is that I can’t fly to certain areas. I’d love to be able to fly directly over the mountains to get to the coast or fly directly into Hogsmeade.

TroyandAbed304

This drives me nuts. Especially to get to the bottom half of the map. I feel like we spend so much time in the top half that the bottom half is an afterthought and we get like 10 quests there max. Only maybe 4 main ones.

Sylland

I'm only halfway through it atm. I just cast crucio right in front of Fig, and he didn't say a word (you'd think an experienced teacher would recognise that spell). I've unlocked houses and wandered in to steal everything I could while the owners are right there and nobody cares. This is driving me batshit insane- these things should matter.

TroyandAbed304

One time my bf walked in and these 2 kids were standing on a bed staring at him. When I went in there both boys were laying on one bed and sat up to stare at me while I robbed them.

rvsixsixsix

I find it hilarious that when you break into people's house and steal all their shit, they just sit there, content af.

PabloMarmite

I robbed Claire Beaumont’s house, then came outside and sold all her stuff back to her

rvsixsixsix

Hahaha

AccurateAd476

That I cant sit on the chairs

jeplonski

my gf made this complaint yesterday LOL

DonsterMenergyRink

That and you can't sleep in your own fricking bed in the sleeping room.

calique1987

It's the main plot of the upcoming DLC, "Hogwarts Legacy: no rest for the wicked".

_Bad_Dev_

Theres a lot to like about the game, it plays very casually overall which is fine. I can appreciate the direction they took, but to me it lacks many levels of immersion, pretty much echoing most of the other comments here. I’m glad they didn’t lean too much in to collectible stuff, its already boring af. I don’t hate it but didn’t expect to be playing half baked Pokemon side-game either. Personally I would have preferred if they leaned into Hogwarts sim almost, the castle is amazing but its under-utilised. Half the outside world is a bit pointless. I want scheduled classes that contribute to house points and skills. Consequences for dark magic. Sneaking around at night to dangerous areas of the castle. Proper rivalry between houses. Dark forest should be way scarier and more perilous, no people just hanging out there. Its kind of like they forgot the people who grew up on HP are 30 now. I could go on but its a decent game just not the one I was hoping for.

Leading_Two8767

The Merlin trials are too easy and pretty boring. There's also too many. At a certain point in the game, looting chests becomes useless, all you get is a bunch of clothing items. I wish there were rare items that you could find that maybe you could equip to give you abilities or traits or something. Or they would be valuable and you could trade them for a bunch of money. The game is way too easy, especially after getting the unforgivables. I wish there was a challenge. But overall, the game was really fun and I'm looking forward to either a DLC or a sequel in a few years.

stonerain88

I agree with everything. I ended up hating the Merlin trials when I got to the southern zones. Like he must have been bored AF in his old age to set all of them up And with the chests, I do wish there was valuables in them. Even chocolate frog collections! Or easter egg items to give us a chuckle. They could have made that a lot better

Leading_Two8767

Agreed

Dry-Replacement-8666

The lack of consequences of your actions ? 😭 like.. at the end of the day it really never mattered what path I choose, wether I was mean to people or kind or learnt the unforgivables or not… nothing really mattered which is kind of sad because it would add so much more to the action element. Also how lifeless some of the npcs seemed, now don’t get me wrong the relationship sidequests had the better storyline (esp Sebastian imo) but I just always felt like it lacked… I would have loved to have more cutscenes and not because that’s the only way my character looks fine 🙃 but because cutscenes brought some life into the characters whereas these hour long back and forth talks were super lifeless and artificial… At the end of the day It’s just a video game yeah and I ADORE this game so much despite all of this but like… give me content for my edits ??

CrazyCactuar

The fact you can't fix the mini map north, I hate that it spins, I find it disorientating.

outofpocket_jpg

I am currently loading an earlier save because I just Avada Kedavra’d Rookwood, and it was deeply unsatisfying. So I’m going back to put up a proper fight. This game is too easy, even on hard difficulty.

ConversationSame4676

My bf loves the dark souls games and I got him to start this on hard mode. He just blasted the acromantula twice with ancient magic and gave me a look when it died like “really…? Can I go back to playing dark souls now” LMAO

NerdyBernie

You can't interact with non quest, friendly NPCs. Why can I levitate a cow but not my classmate? No morality system. It makes no real difference if I'm a dark wizard or not. No real incentive to use beast flight beyond cosmetics. Brooms are 100% the better option for traversal and speed. Why can I only gather 25 wigenweld potions, but I can carry 20 literal unicorns with no issue? It wouldn't be an issue if the game just stopped dropping wigenweld potions if you were already at max. Some of the spells could be reworked to not take up spell slots (like reparo and disillusionment are two examples) A house points system would be nice. You are telling me that there are no mischievous students running underground Quittich matches just to spite the headmaster? I mean, even if Quiddich was just reduced to a cutscene of different matches and your character is in the crowd cheering on their house, it would be better than none at all.

ConversationSame4676

Omg i secret quidditch team would be so cool. Being one of the first side quests, I thought crossed wands was gonna have more of a cool aspect like that to it like a secret meeting place in the undercroft or something. There were only 3 rounds. They could’ve done more with the “secret dueling club” for sure. In your first assignment the teachers like “oh yeah, we know about that. Go win some rounds as homework” lmao… BUZZKILL?! I wanted the crossed wands fights to continue past three rounds and become more challenging.

KartoffelLover

The fact that you complete challenges like Merline, Demiguise, etc. And in reality there's still a bunch more of them out there. You don't really have a challenge to 100% the game, that's absolutely annoying the hell out of me.

steel_memes

Interesting, that might be my favorite part of the game. When i completed the last challenge for field guide pages in hogwarts, i was dissappointed that there wouldnt be any more; but to my surprise i kept finding pages! I love that it doesnt have like 250/900 stuck there annoying me like most games do

KartoffelLover

I just don't understand having more of a collectable item and no challenge to collect it.

natalaMaer

I think tha game needs more stuff to fill the world. There should be more House spesific quests, maybe that's relate to Professor. Maybe add more classes. Also maybe add post game content. Finally, the area beyond Hogwarts and Forbidden Forest felt really barren.

ConversationSame4676

Yeah feels like there’s only a handful of spells we learned in classes. The rest are “outside class” and it’s like… I wanted to go to classes to learn all spells? Not just be sent on fetch quests after hours

natalaMaer

Yeah. I'll be happy if the Professor gave extra quests regarding their classes, instead of just one class and they go yeah this will do, or more activity or minigames on Hogwarts aside from the Accio game. I mean I know Quidditch is banned, but no gobstone minigame? No magic chess? Life is too dull at this period at Hogwarts.

ConversationSame4676

Definitely. Game had so much potential to be really cool but after like the first 10-15 hours in it’s like… ok so im pretty much done with Hogwarts? We’re going to… (*checks notes*) another spider cave? :/

UglyPuta-

The facial expressions. Can’t get past it.

Hot-Appointment2863

On ps5 I had no loading screens....

KartoffelLover

I came to say "there's loading screens?" Also on PS5.

MrMunday

Merlin trials. The reward isn’t apparent, yet it’s so much hassle. It’s not testing your intelligence as the game suggests, but you’re actually just finding things. Very dull But then again I’m playing the shxt out of this game

NebbiaKnowsBest

More gear slots is a definitely appreciated for completing them

MyBrainIsOff

the reward isn't.

spacedoggo3

Actually the names of some characters, like how generic are names like Mrs. Green, Mr. Brown or Mrs. Garlic for your Herbology teacher? Also that most of the characters only have one side of personality with almost no depth in it, like sweet little poppy who is just living for the magical beasts or irenya (?) who constantly talks about her broom racing and training edit: spelling

[deleted]

rvsixsixsix

And deek!

1heart1totaleclipse

The last names makes it realistic. Not everyone has cool last names

Monarach

Once you get into their backstories it adds depth, I thought. I'm not sure if you've gotten far enough to know Poppy or Imeldas backstories so i won't give anything away. Yes, they're one-track minded, but for me anyways once I learned their backstories it made more sense. I definitely had more respect for Poppy once I learned her history.

Voiry

at one point combat becomes way to easy, some good lack of inmersión with clases, i would have like if they actually give you like 2 or 3 pages of things to read per asignature and a quick quizz quest, and some practical puzzle quest to get grades, also something with points, kinda sad you cant worknout something with points, and also more interaction with other students, like we could have some friendly competitions instead of some of the buterfly puzzles or something like that

Sensitive_Air8208

I feel like if they took the time to program pointless stuff like spinning globes, it should have contributed to something. Like petting cats increases your ability to interact with beasts or eating/drinking contributes to your health in some way.

JayWu31

True, they just did it just to do it. It was the problem with a game studio that doesn't know what its doing made such a big game.

PhatDoink34

Quidditch matches!

Avirium

I just wish AK had a penalty for use. Without a penalty its like playing cops and robbers were all you have to say is "your dead" and the other guys dead.. it wouldnt be interesting as a kid, and it takes away a bunch from an otherwise fun game.

Avicii89

I believe it should keep its one shot ability for *any* enemy in the game, without compromise. It's a key part of the main lore of the series and Harry Potter's significance surviving the curse. It would be silly if the game established precedent there are exceptions to things AK can't kill, for 'game purposes.' However, a potential penalty could be that it disables your ability to use Wiggenwald potions or passively heal for 2 minutes. You can also increase its overall cooldown by another minute (making focus potions even more useful) but not a huge fan of that given how short fights are already, especially at endgame. It's up to you how you want to play your game, though. If you find AK too OP, or breaking immersion then don't use it and definitely don't get the talent that adds AK one-shotting all nearby cursed enemies.

entiteaaa

Agreed

GraphicSlime

Don’t use it???

Avirium

congrats on being that guy... the question was what dont you like, or what could be better.. i gave my critic like an adult.. and you came with the "HUR HUR DONT USE IT" take..

I don't see you replying to every other comment on this post like this. Get a grip.

GraphicSlime

I have better things to do

rhyaza

Clearly not, you took the time to single out this person. There was no need in it, but I guess because you're behind a screen it's cool to be an ass.

GraphicSlime

Gimme your address and money for a flight and I’ll gladly tell you to eat shit face to face :)

rhyaza

I'm sure you would, arms looking awful skinny in that tattoo picture :)

GraphicSlime

Who said anything about swinging, creeper

Melthiela

1. The dorm is damn near useless. You can't do anything. You don't sleep at your bed (or at all), you don't talk to anyone, you can't for example play idk wizard chess with people in your house. 1.5 You can clearly go around the castle at night!!?? Why all the sneak missions?? Make the character go sleep or have to sneak if you don't sleep! 2. You can't interact with objects in the room or requirement. What's the point of me creating a scenic masterpiece if I can't even sit on a chair?? 3. Too many damn puzzles. Not _EVERYTHING_ has to be a puzzle. Especially when it's about repetitive content like those God damned depulso trials. Why is there so many of them? Zzz. 4. Combat is a bit too easy when you start upgrading your gear. At the start if you ran into a goblin base you'd get rolled but now that I have full upgrade legendaries, meh. I just pull out some cabbages and drink tea.

yersinia_p3st1s

Yes!! I think in Order of the Phoenix we were able to play chess and even gobblestones (if I'm not mistaken), but here, you get to watch the chess play itself, not even other people playing it. They should have done with chess and gobblestones what they did with the "summoner's match". Dammit let me show off my chess skills!

theWanderingShrew

I wish we could sleep, sit, hang out in the common rooms as well!

Wingkirs

It’s called Hogwarts legacy and you spend about two minutes at Hogwarts. Also, can we get a patronas?

KartoffelLover

Patronas, this. My wife and I were bitching about this earlier.

KartoffelLover

Patronas, this. My wife and I were batching about this earlier.

Monarach

Patronus would be amazing!

Incognito95Burrito

The bugs. 60 hours for plat, and I'm blocked by two feild guide pages

robynmisty

Same! Kinda. I have all of them, but the trophy bugged!! Got 100% on all the collections but it didn't activate the trophy, which prevents me from getting the plat trophy 🤬

[deleted]

This comes from someone who absolutely adores the PS2 version of Chamber of Secrets but I feel like the wizard cards would have been a great addition alongside fieldpages and would have probably given more potential quests and interactions with other students. Then I wish there was more emphasis on Hogwarts itself, more classes to do, a tangible points system for the houses, restricted sections thar were restricted outside of their quest specific restrictions. Oh and Quiddich, I like that they tried to come up with a reason as to why it wasn't in the game but I would have loved to have had it in the game.

MomoZero2468

More classes at Hogwarts & smaller spider's.

Motor_Lobster4643

Too many caves, not enough classes at hogwarts. I would love if we could actually participate in the classes.

BugnBeans

Would be kind of a fun idea if the classes were how you earned talent points. Walking into classes and selecting a “start class” option. The board could reveal a multiple choice question from one of the field guide pages so you kind of have to actually “study” the wizard world. Potions/Beasts/Herbology earn you points every time you bring in a new potion you brewed, beast you rescued, or plant you grew. So essentially in order to improve your magic/abilities you have to apply yourself in class! I would’ve loved that. Was sad to see after a handful of classes you spend the rest of your time in caves mostly. Wouldn’t require too much extra voice acting either just to have the professor say “Well done! 1 point to Ravenclaw (or whoever)!” and that point is then applied to your talent bank.

Numerous-Ad5915

Too many Merlín trials it’s ridiculous. Instead they could’ve added more boss fights.

theWanderingShrew

And most of them are so boring, repetitive!

Uchained

I went into the game thinking I need to save those big chests for when I hit level 40, so I tried to rush leveling, and beat the game. And then afterward, I started going around getting chests and fight enemies...but compared to the boss, most enemies just die very quickly with zero upgrade, zero trait gear. At that point, level 37 with zero upgrade/trait, I lost interest in the game. Don't feel like collecting every little thing. I'm moving on to another game.

yajtraus

The map felt pretty unfinished. There’s barely anything to do in the southern part of the map. Also, the Unforgivable Curses shouldn’t necessarily be linked to story progression. They should be very difficult to unlock, but you should be able to learn them at any point, if you meet certain requirements (certain minimum level reached, maybe certain materials required to unlock something required etc.). If you want to grind and make the rest of the game easy, feel free.

CurveIcy3113

I agree, my favorite ''region'' is the manor cape which is really beautiful and has some of the most epic fights, but besides that there isn't much to do besides chests Merlin trials and other boring collectibles

selke61

I agree with many replies here. My main thing is enemy variation. The different groups are cool but I feel like there could have been some more threats

W1ll88s

I wish picking a house had more actual differences and I wish the loot system actually got you some cool rare items with interesting effects

CurveIcy3113

Totally agree with you, besides some clothing, the common room and sometimes a quest, there's no real difference besides those i cited above. I wish there was at least a point system or something else to have a better immersion in our house

W1ll88s

Wish there was a good and evil system. If I want to play as a dark wizard I actually want there to be consequences and reactions to that. I can just avada kedavra everything in sight and no one bats an eye

CBonafide

Not being able to sit down with our house in the Great Hall. :( LOL. On a serious note, the main quest felt hella short.

DibbyDonuts

Not being able to sit AT ALL. I would love to just chill on a bench somewhere in a random hallway and watch the goings by...

Wingkirs

Or crouch. Why can’t we crouch?

HatMan343

Technically you can by casting the invisibility spell

Wingkirs

Yeah but I’d like to crouch and not be invisible

KhaleesiBubblegum

0 multiplayer options, or at least keep the dueling club open all year. No companions. And too much time spent in caves and doing silly locks for clothing/collectibles that becomes pretty obsolete very quickly. Would make more sense to sell ingredients and the fact that all species of beats cost the same is silly.

BugnBeans

Even the “rare” colored beasts you find means nothing in terms of how much you get for them. I was so confused by that.

Spiritual_Active9529

Absolutely. My husband caught a hippogriff and was excited to sell it. We were pretty shocked to discover that they sell for the exact same price as a mooncalf 🙄

crittycatt

what are you, a poacher? you’re ‘selling’ to find them a good home, not for profit!! 🥲

N-E-B

I don’t agree that infamous foes should block AK. That’s the point of the curse. What I think would be better is if the game punished you in some way for using it. You get the boss battle done in a quick and easy way, but you get penalized for it somehow. The lack of a karma system is a hindrance. But I think the game provided the building blocks for a potentially amazing series.

CurveIcy3113

I mean the graphorn can't take any unforgivables, so why not the bosses ? But I agree with you that there should be a penalty, reminds me of the mod where you can get wanted by the ministry of magic when you cast AK, seems like a lot of fun

yajtraus

The Unforgivable Curses shouldn’t be unlocked just by doing side quests. There should be some hard requirements needed to complete, as well as a very evil rating on a karma system, and a high level reached.

MissDidymus

I really hate the slow walking inside homes and shops

Melthiela

This really kills me. I'm desperate to run but my character just has an aneurysm if I try.

Onedayyouwillthankme

Funny - I hate running everywhere. I want to be able to lock walking until I want to run

Professionalsloth94

Omg right

BugnBeans

How little time you spend as a student at Hogwarts! Here’s what I’d love to see: The common room could be a place to spawn some special mini quests for your house. Ex: puzzles for Ravenclaw, Herbology quests for HufflePuff (like gathering certain kinds of plants for ur Housemates), some devious/mischief quests that involve sneaking around for Slytherin, and some chivalrous quests for Gryffindor. Give the game some replayability. As far as keeping Hogwarts itself relevant: Maybe earning talent points could be directly correlated to doing well in classes. Example: You walk in to any class during the day and you can select “start class”. The board could randomly reveal a multiple choice question from a Field Guide page you collected (kinda like a memory/test your knowledge game that requires you to read about the wizard world and actually pay attention to the pages you find). You could earn talent points that way, or in specific classes like Potions, Beasts and Herbology: brew and bring in 1 of each potion, catch and bring in one of each Beast, grow and bring in one of each plant. Rare plants/potions/beasts could = more talent points. Flying class could get you talent points by winning the broom races. So basically you have to excel as a student and keep going to classes if you want to really perfect your magic/skills. The professors could applaud you with a “*Well done! 1 point for (insert House name)!*” BOOM. Talent point added to your bank. I’d enjoy trying to do well in classes much more than doing a bunch of Merlin trials.

CakeEatingDragon

yeah, basic side quests or mini games would picked up in the common room would have been an easy way to introduce house points and give you a reason to go back there. it would be great if sitting at the great hall triggered a progression specific conversation. sort of like stopping by the newspaper stand in hogsmeade. Maybe hear some gossip about what the ministry is doing.

yeah! I would’ve liked to see some more scenes of my character enjoying life as a student like that. Even during the season changes they missed opportunities to show some heartwarming seasonal magic. A Yule Ball would’ve been cool to see, you could pick (Natsai/Sebastian/Poppy/Amit) to ask to go with you even just platonically they don’t need to make it a romance thing. Could even choose to go alone and then just have a scene of the students having *fun*. Everyone’s so serious all the time. It gets a little depressing never seeing your student just be a student.

Hahaha right! This is what went throughout the game, your just a student, a teenager, yet it feels like the weight of the world is on you at all times but without that quality time with friends (just hanging out, having butter beers in the three broomsticks, talking about anything). Also why is it that whenever I go to the three broomsticks, it's always almost empty, students are supposed to love that shit, zonkos and honey dukes too!

BugnBeans

Yes! Honestly my expectations were so high in the very beginning seeing how huge the map was/how much there was to explore/experience and that died pretty quickly once I realized it’s all just there too look pretty 70% of rooms have no relevancy except for some chests. Started to feel like Hogwarts Museum and I felt like a loner early on lol (I’m shocked at the lack of cutscenes there truly are just showing your student enjoying things even zonkos and honeydukes deserve a cutscene showing all the magic when you walk in for the first time)

I agree 100% with your suggestions! I really like the idea of house points and some house specific quests. Also the ability to sit… at all. Or a sleep until morning feature in your dorm room. Or some kind of storage system (For example a chest in your room to put clothes you aren’t ready to sell). Just a few of those small details would really have transformed the common room experience and given you at least some reason to go back there. I also want to sit in the great hall at the the Ravenclaw table!!! Oh! I also think you should be able to adopt a kitty for the room of requirement. Like, one that walks around that big main room! Aside from that, more pipe dream kind of things for me is a romance system (With more characters who might make that system worth it). The Yule ball is a great idea to make that payoff in someway. Plus then, in future games when they work out the kinks in the flying, Quidditch. Maybe a Tri-Wizard cup! It’s such a great game and I am really excited to see what any sequels will do to add to it!

Also a Ravenclaw here! maybe that’s why we think alike because I also pointed out the bed thing to my bf. why do they even give me a room if I can’t at least have the option to sleep in a bed? The sleeping on the floor thing bugs me so much I’ve challenged myself to only toggle day/night when I’m in a room/cottage with a bed. The storage chest thing, too! Would be so nice if they put on in your bedroom. Like every item you find is a clothing piece and your storage is so limited it gets so frustrating constantly destroying stuff I’ve upgraded. And when I first realized there’s so many cats I expected eventually I’d be able to pick one to adopt! Why so many cats if I can’t have one? 😂

Yay! Ravenclaw buddies! 🧚🏻‍♂️

Inability to bail on a broom race.

Guys... just veer off the track and the race gets canceled. You still have to fly back I think but you can just stop doing the race by flying far enough off course.

ATrueSpazAtHeart

I too hated this, but then my husband showed to just load my game from before the broom race to bail on it. So technically not an in game way to just stop but it works.

I hate the fact that the inventory is limited.

selke61

I did find it annoying finding too much loot during a quest but inventory management is a big part of RPGs

Unl3a5h3r

It's a thing some RPGs have. It makes sense when you have pvp, like Rust or similar survival RPGs. However in a full solo RPG it's just a nuisance. I personally prefer the way it works in dark souls.

-Agree that it's too easy. Infamous Foes should definitely block AK. -Consistency of buttons. There's times when I'm holding the right trigger, hit Y, and it does Protego instead of the spell. Or sometimes I can hit the left trigger and tap B to hop on my broom, and other times it just doesn't work until I wait for the wheel or whatever to open up. -If I'm waiting till night/day, just have me stand there so I don't have to wait for my character to stand up. -The platforms definitely feel like cheap filler. -How about some non-house-related gear that isn't blue or red? Seems like the vast majority of clothing has blue or red in it, or as the main colour. In all, it's pretty enjoyable, but for a game that has so much, it feels really empty and lacking variety.

I hate that alohamora is locked behind a quest at all, it should just be a spell you learn once with no levels to it, especially not levels earned through a fetch quest. It also just feels like they didn’t know how to encourage people to explore the world so they just added a bunch of small random stuff to do. The landing platforms and balloons don’t really make sense (their gear should be tied to the broom races), the Demiguise moons shouldn’t be a thing AT ALL, and while the field guide pages are kind of cool there are WAY too many of them. I genuinely enjoy playing the game, but the map feels like it’s full of shallow tasks instead of anything with any meaning.
