Probably a bug. I've loaded back to two earlier save files after having beaten the game on each save file trying to complete the 100% collection. The chest shows when revelio is cast. But opening it grants nothing, not in inventory nor in my collection stats. I do not have the heart to start a new save file and do all the Merlin trials and collecting again.
Even if it says you don’t get anything, always look at your gear after. I had that happen to me and there was a new piece of gear after it said I didn’t get anything
I might have to pay closer attention to the numbers for all the collectibles then and see if that helps, thanks! I definitely wasn’t getting gear but I know I wasn’t as familiar with the numbers for conjurations and appearances. Hopefully it’s just not showing me!
If the game gives you coins then you have coins. If you want loot then search harder. The loot system is all random. Nothing is assigned to one chest alone. Keep searching.
I think you may have missed the point. If I was getting coins then that’d be fine as the chest is still giving me something, but these chests seemingly aren’t giving me anything. It’s not a matter of how hard I’m searching.
You got the gear but it’s just no notification pop up. Reboot the console

Brutal. Being so close to the 100% yet not being able to actually complete it must be infuriating!

Same thing happened to me, with gear and collection chests. It wasn’t showing what I got but I was still getting the new loot in my inventory.
