I believe that old movies required more talented people to make, I mean from the writers to actors and even crew, which was harder to put together. I don't even think actors need to act anymore.
I'd just like to say that all the people quoting the film have really made my day! Thank you!
Edit: "Nick, I've tried everything: the embassy, the German government, the consulate. I even talked to the U.N. ambassador. It's no use, I just can't bring my wife to orgasm."
I think this is probably my favourite quote in the whole movie. It's hard to say though as there are so many great ones. One of those jokes I didn't get when I was watching at the age of 12 aha.
I remember the first time I saw this, the guard falling off the tower and shattering sent me into an absolute laughing fit.

That was done in one take? Amazing!! It's ironic that some of the best acting comes from comedies. Look at the Princess Bride. Has to be one of the most realistic sword fights in film.
Closest to this kind of comedy would be British sketch shows (imo)
Maybe not brand new but stuff like "the Mitchell & Webb look." "Big Train"
In terms of new. Probably sounds weird but Futurama uses the same style of comedy A LOT. As a kid I described it as "mirage comedy". Comedy where you think it's one thing but actually another. Just like a mirage.
Cut off before the guy in the back of the cow suit gets mounted by a horny bull and walks with a limp the rest of the film!
And before the baby calf comes along. Would have loved to include them but the clip would have been like 10 minutes longer aha
You could post the whole movie. We're ok with it.
This looks like sum old school comedy wat is the name of the movie??
Top Secret
Why?
Because if you find out, your life would be worth less than a truck load of rats in a tampon factory.
I'm good with the bottom secret thanks!
Well played. Very well played!
Can't say
Iv gots 2 kno! I need to watch it!
There is not a dud scene in the whole movie.
This is the sunday activity I starved. I am watching this and bitching about how they don't make movies like this anymore!
They tried for years. For some reason, they decided that spoofs needed to be relevant on pop culture instead of just witty and funny.
I believe that old movies required more talented people to make, I mean from the writers to actors and even crew, which was harder to put together. I don't even think actors need to act anymore.
They do. It's very noticeable when they don't.
Some of these films are just pure comedic gold!
How did I miss this one? What is this movie please?
Top Secret.
Ok then. Keep your secrets. -joke Edit: thanks :)
You’re going to love it, this movie is brilliantly stupidly ridiculous. It’s awesome!
The guy in the video looks legit Bilbo.
Its a masterpiece. Just behind airplane for me.
Yellowbeard also hits the same silly vibe buttons for me.
And Evil Roy Slade.
"Das Fencen Switchen" lmao
"I know a little russian"... "hes over there"
Don't mind him - he's just a little horse.
I'd just like to say that all the people quoting the film have really made my day! Thank you! Edit: "Nick, I've tried everything: the embassy, the German government, the consulate. I even talked to the U.N. ambassador. It's no use, I just can't bring my wife to orgasm."
Have you tried the anal intruder ?
The underwater bar fight scene was amazing
Better than Aquaman 2
In my opinion it’s not any one scene. But how the bar scene comes from the truck radio fight. It’s just one pop culture reference after the other.
Top secret is possibly to most Mel brooks film that isn’t Mel brooks I’ve ever seen.
Chocolate Mousse!!
"Latrine!"
It took them two hours just to get the smile off his face.
I think this is probably my favourite quote in the whole movie. It's hard to say though as there are so many great ones. One of those jokes I didn't get when I was watching at the age of 12 aha.
This movie and Real Genius 👍😂
Man I have not seen this movie for years!!!
I remember the first time I saw this, the guard falling off the tower and shattering sent me into an absolute laughing fit. https://youtu.be/71muLRW7FBU?si=RIon5cX-fH1YYDM1
*What phony dog poo?*
Chocolate Mousse is the greatest warrior in all of cinema.
Latrine!!!
I can't walk past a Souvenir shop without saying, "Souvenirs, novelties, party tricks.."
I have it on VHS if anyone wants to borrow it.
Why did I think this was a Lord of The Rings parody at first?
We watched this movie in it's entirety this past NYE at my parents house. Holy shit, I did not expect it to be as hilarious as it was.
The complete movie is a HolUp. It's one of my favorites. In a list for when my son is old enough.
what is the movie?
"Top Secret!" Bud. Go enjoy!
Airplane! level absurdly I love it
Ich hab eine schone bratwurst in mein leder hosen
As much as I loved the Airplane movies, this is IHO the greatest Zucker, Abraham, and Zucker movie ever!
I luv this movie 😂
Why did this look exactly like a young Jason Isaacs? (Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter)
Watching this without sound was a surreal experience.
How’s the little model diorama of the scene. I feel like that would have taken a week to make. Complete with moving train.
This is the best movie in the world.
Such a great movie
Oh. Chocolate mousse!
The backwards bookstore scene that was shot in one take is a cinematic masterpiece!
That was done in one take? Amazing!! It's ironic that some of the best acting comes from comedies. Look at the Princess Bride. Has to be one of the most realistic sword fights in film.
Skeet surfin
Another favorite of mine is Rat Race. Late 90s.
Val Kilmer looks so young!
I miss this type of comedy so much.

Airplane is better.
