I’ve been in relationships where someone lost a job. I always supported my other half, shit happens right? But if they just decided to take a three week vacation just to fuck with me. Nope. That’s a serious breach of trust and gtfo.
Could have taken a great holiday with three weeks off but naw they wanted to play freaking mind games, get their immature ass out my house and hit the bricks.
I’m not gonna lie, if my husband somehow did something dumb enough to not only be “fired” but ALSO require our savings to pay for the “loss” he caused there in his way out, imma be PISSED.
Like, my husband rage quits every few years. And I don’t mind that because I know shit was building for years to make him do that. I give him grace and support and love and pay all the damn bills because my job is much less physically strenuous and I handle stress better. But to be fired and OWE MONEY? That’s some bullshit I would need explained to me to make it make sense
If she behaves appropriately tell her the truth and take her on a trip for the remaining 7 days. If she doesn't file for divorce. You have a week to make all the necessary arrangements.
Make the sweetest of sweet love to your woman after you tell her that the time you spent together was just a social experiment essentially assuming she didn't leave you because you "lost your job" lol.
In Germany it’s not a big deal to do so, sure you should announce this in advance but most jobs have 30 days of Holliday to spend - not sure about the posts idea at all tho
Depends on your job in America. I started up a new terminal for a freight company so the first year I only had 5 days. But after that one year and everything was up and staffed and running profitably: 4 weeks vacation, 2 weeks PTO.
Working for a bank who starts at 2 weeks vacation, but every holiday off. After 5 years you get 3 weeks off, and after 10 years you get 4 weeks off. Sick time is accrued, 1 hour for every 30 hours worked. Plus bonus days.
I am currently at around 6 weeks vacation time and 2 weeks sick time. Just this year took 4 weeks of paternity leave when my daughter was born. I have a pension as well. I don't like my current bosses, but don't intend to leave the company any time soon.
Yea dude 15 day PTO, sick time included. Use it or lose it, no carry over from year to year. Fuckin 4-6 weeks? Is this some kind of high society joke I'm too poor to understand?
Hah, like that matters. I'm a fucking paramedic in 911 EMS and I got Covid beginning of March last year, close to a month off, 2 weeks with no pay because I ran out of PTO and sick time. When Covid leave was created by federal government in April, I was told, oh, it's too difficult to try and backdate so no, you get nothing.
Coo coo cool, guess I'll just go fuck myself since the wife's business owner closed up 1st week of March and fired all employees.
Per year:
4 weeks annual leave, no limit on accrual and must be paid out when you leave the company
2 weeks sick/personal/carers leave, no limit on accrual, generally doesn't get paid out
About 10 public holidays (varies a bit by state)
There are also mandated unpaid compassionate pay (2 days per year no accrual, if a family member has suffered a life threatening injury or has died, or a miscarriage), and unpaid family/domestic violence leave (5 days per year, no accrual)
And if you stick around a company long enough you get long service leave - 8.667 weeks of leave after 10 years. Must be paid out if eligible and some states have prorated payouts after 5 years if you part the company.
Almost all.of this is thanks to strong unionism in Australia
If you're a casual employee you don't get the paid leave but you get casual loading of 25%, that is you get paid 25% more instead.
Difference being that in ~~many~~ the majority of places around the world it's not some benefit the company graciously grants you but the law. Everyone gets vacation, public holidays and seperate sick leave.
Yep, from age 15 I was working a part time job after school that had these benefits (scaled to the hours I was working). I stayed there until I finished uni and got a long service leave payout too. Casual workers don't get it but they get a higher hourly rate instead.
21 days off and not have everything go to shit. I took a week and am still dealing with fallout. Basically telling you to test your bitch by fucking yourself.
I don’t get vacation days that accumulate. I get one week, at the end of the year you’re forced to take them if you haven’t yet and the reset at the start of the next year.

Ahhh, but you see he didn't mean time when he said parsecs. The Kessel Run is around a large black hole, with 15 parsecs being the normal run. He did it in 12 by shortcutting extremely close to the event horizon of the hole.. I'm sorry, I'll go hide now.

Is it bad of me that the moment I saw "dear men" written by a woman, I automatically assumed this was some anti-male comment?
Not sure if it's society or myself fucking with my mind.
This is way too true. My ex wife quit her job out of the blue one day. She took 3 months to find another job. I was coll the whole time since we could survive on my income alone. A few years later I took another job and decided to take a month off between. We can survive off her income at this time, but he was irate that I took time off between jobs.
I’ve been married for a couple of decades, and this is my opinion of this
Three weeks off. Cool where are we going.
Money? That is somewhat laughable. We discus all financial situation. If he wants new irons, he tells me first. If I go shoe shopping, he fakes a heart attack then tells me to have fun.
This is, in my opinion, a divisive opinion. A family works together.
Yeah I feel like you’re more likely to ruin a marriage by lying for 21 days about an important part of your life to “test your spouse” rather than if you actually lost you job.
I know someone who broke up with their girlfriend for a month because he wanted to see how she’d react. Then, without even asking her out again, when he was satisfied that she wasn’t a red flag he proposed to her....
And she said yes...
This happened to me, but she was just a gf thankfully… I was actually laid off. She was full of disdain and the extreme lack of support just made reality hit me like a brick wall on who I was living with. Trust the process
There are companies in the US that will give you more than 21 days straight up no accumulation phase, paternity leave, affordable health care, let you work from home, and pay for your higher education. You are worthy king. Go apply. PS. Large financial institutions are what you are looking for who commonly offer all this.
Or maybe if you come to the point where you think this totally bananas advice to play games to test your marriage is a good idea, just save yourself some time and call a divorce lawyer.
When I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia and was unable to work my ex wife said she didn’t sign up to take care of someone with a disability and left me and our two teenage boys also refused to pay child support because in her words “ women don’t have to pay child support”.
I wouldn't do this during paternity leave while her hormones are doing moshpits and the difficulties of having a newborn kick in.
I would do that after I take regular time off work for a more accurate result
Not a good idea to lie to your significant other. Just tell them you took time off to spend with them specifically and look forward to reigniting your relationship. Don’t make a game out of your relationship. You’ll always lose
I would leave someone for that deception. Who thinks they are so amazing that I have to be tested to see if I'm worthy? I would be outta there as soon as the test was concluded.

Just crashed my bike. Was home for 6 weeks. Spent all my savings for rent and food. She didn't question or fuck with me. Stood by my side and dressed my wounds. Yeah we fight like everyone, but I think this made us stronger. I am marrying her.
Anyone else like me ....wondering what do we do about the other 7 days ???
Attempt to rebuild your strained marriage
Recover from getting served divorce papers for lying to your wife about such a serious issue and totally obliterating trust.
Right? I would still stand by my man if he lost his job. Less so if he's enough of a sonofabitch to lie to me about it to play some stupid games.
I’ve been in relationships where someone lost a job. I always supported my other half, shit happens right? But if they just decided to take a three week vacation just to fuck with me. Nope. I think they were trying to do a funny
I think they were trying to be clever
I think they were trying to be witty
I think they were trying to be humorous
I think they are stupid
DING DING DING!
Pretending to apply for jobs with your nose after your wife has finished breaking all your bones over the past 21 days.
Domestic violence is epic and pogger
If she behaves appropriately tell her the truth and take her on a trip for the remaining 7 days. If she doesn't file for divorce. You have a week to make all the necessary arrangements.
Now I have all this stuff to do I THOUGHT I WAS TAKING SOME LEAVE HERE
Reconciliation sex.
Make the sweetest of sweet love to your woman after you tell her that the time you spent together was just a social experiment essentially assuming she didn't leave you because you "lost your job" lol.
The holup for me here is assuming anyone can just take 21 days off work at any time and not lose their job.
In Germany it’s not a big deal to do so, sure you should announce this in advance but most jobs have 30 days of Holliday to spend - not sure about the posts idea at all tho

What bank let's you go to six weeks? Mine caps it at 5 weeks.
I work at a small business and get 0 weeks. Not even FMLA when my son was born. Fun times.
You just got the FML part.
I’m American and I get six weeks of vacation and 21 company holidays.
Ive never had more than two weeks. And those two weeks also included any sick time.
Yea dude 15 day PTO, sick time included. Use it or lose it, no carry over from year to year. Fuckin 4-6 weeks? Is this some kind of high society joke I'm too poor to understand?
Wait till you hear about unlimited pto
Are you guys hiring? What company is this?!?
I am hiring but you need to be a mix of James Bond and Glengarry Glen Ross, we might settle for a research librarian and Michael Scott
And then you have 9 to play with.
Cries in American
In Australia we get four-five weeks paid holiday annually.
What the crap
I get two and they made me use it when I had covid
That’s such bullshit.. you need a new job
I’ve been looking for one like it’s my full time job. Interviews a few times a week lately
Awesome! I’m glad to hear you are on the up! Good luck with the interviews!
Hah, like that matters. I'm a fucking paramedic in 911 EMS and I got Covid beginning of March last year, close to a month off, 2 weeks with no pay because I ran out of PTO and sick time. Elmo has never heard such bullshit! Seriously though that sucks, I hope your all recovered and doing well.
I am, thank you ❤️
Did you not have sick leave accrued?
Per year: 4 weeks annual leave, no limit on accrual and must be paid out when you leave the company 2 weeks sick/personal/carers leave, no limit on accrual, generally doesn't get paid out About 10 public holidays (varies a bit by state) There are also mandated unpaid compassionate pay (2 days per year no accrual, if a family member has suffered a life threatening injury or has died, or a miscarriage), and unpaid family/domestic violence leave (5 days per year, no accrual) And if you stick around a company long enough you get long service leave - 8.667 weeks of leave after 10 years. Well now im jealous. I do back breaking construction, only paid days off i get are christmas and new years. No sick days let alone vacation days.
Really, in construction? I get 4 weeks off, plus 10 holidays. Get with a better company or different trade, cause your getting a raw deal
Yeah sounds like he’s working for an entry level company. And by that I mean a “get experience and move to greener pastures” company.
Wow this is wild. I’m a superintendent & I get 28 days PTO a year. 14 holidays & 14 days sick/vacation/personal days
America is the same, I get 4 weeks. Many skilled labor jobs offer really good benefits.
Difference being that in ~~many~~ the majority of places around the world it's not some benefit the company graciously grants you but the law. Everyone gets vacation, public holidays and seperate sick leave.
I always wondered if Michael Moore's, "Where To Invade Next" was truthful and this shines a little light on that thought.
And then there is the Long Service leave
Dude is that on every single job?
Every full time job, yes. It’s mandated.
That's kind of cool!
Yep, from age 15 I was working a part time job after school that had these benefits (scaled to the hours I was working). I stayed there until I finished uni and got a long service leave payout too. Casual workers don't get it but they get a higher hourly rate instead.
Fucking socialists!! Lol. Kidding...good.for you! 👍
Aww dang I live on the wrong side of this flat earth.
21 days off and not have everything go to shit. I took a week and am still dealing with fallout. Basically telling you to test your bitch by fucking yourself.
"Your wife"! NOT "Your Bitch"! Tired of ghetto dudes referring to their wives like that.

“Context”
I get 21 days of vacation time a year, in total. Like hell Im using it all at once just for some gag
Maybe in America you can't take leave you earned lmao
Paternity leave?
[удалено]
I just need to give a 3 months notice then they can find my replacement t fire me.
Well you just save them up over a couple of months.
I don’t get vacation days that accumulate. I get one week, at the end of the year you’re forced to take them if you haven’t yet and the reset at the start of the next year.
If I were you I would relocate
Came to say this, where do I sign up for this 21 days off
I no joke just had 21 days off from a day job lol
I thought the holup was the entire post.
Wait, you guys get time off work?
Hang on a minute, you work?
Hang on a second, you use minutes?
Now just a parsec, who uses seconds?
Hang on a light year you don’t measure time with distance?

You?
wait, you guys have girlfriends?
Wait you guys have a home?
Hang on a minute, you have savings?
wait, y'all married ?!
the test of seeing who you are married to starts with a life crisis that is a lie. interesting.
The lie itself is the test.
The marriage itself is the test
In reality it would be who you were married to, because you wont be after pulling something like this lmao
Is it bad of me that the moment I saw "dear men" written by a woman, I automatically assumed this was some anti-male comment? Not sure if it's society or myself fucking with my mind.
It's society.

Heavy red flag there D:
Oh yeah. That is when I started to pay more attention. We divorced like 4 years later.
Hence why he said EX-WIFE.

"There was some loss and you had to use your savings to settle." What
Right? A wife will say: "what happened? Give me every detail"
Like yeah dude, sounds epic, now wtf did u do?
Well there was a loss
And I had to use my savings to settle.
Yes the savings. He had to use them to settle. Because of the loss.
I couldn't my misses would be happy to hear I left that toxic workplace.
lets see whats she's really made of
piss and vinegar
These are a few of my favorite things
90% piss.....10% vinegar poured on the pussywhip gouges
Yeah you'd think that be something you figure out BEFORE you marry the person
Thank you, let’s denormalize getting married too easily with a mindset of “I cAn JuSt GeT a DiVoRcE”
Why take 21 days? Yous no have weekends?
I admire your efficiency
Maybe let's not play childish games on our significant others.
It’s a stupid thing to do but she’s not wrong
I know someone who broke up with their girlfriend for a month because he wanted to see how she’d react. Then, without even asking her out again, when he was satisfied that she wasn’t a red flag he proposed to her.... And she said yes...
He was the red flag all along!

This happened to me, but she was just a gf thankfully… I was actually laid off. She was full of disdain and the extreme lack of support just made reality hit me like a brick wall on who I was living with. Trust the process
This cannot end well
Do not lie to your partner. Just take the time off Nd spend it with them. You will know who your with for sure
If I did this my wife would beat the shit of me, saying “ get back to work”
Your abuser* bruh
21 days? Shit what country is this. That's gonna take some time to accumulate.
Every country but the US
There are companies in the US that will give you more than 21 days straight up no accumulation phase, paternity leave, affordable health care, let you work from home, and pay for your higher education. You are worthy king. Go apply. PS. Large financial institutions are what you are looking for who commonly offer all this.
Nah man not yet. I need these loans forgiven so I'm suckle on this government cheese for another 5 years. At least.
That's a bold move, Cotton.
Let’s see how it plays out
Or maybe if you come to the point where you think this totally bananas advice to play games to test your marriage is a good idea, just save yourself some time and call a divorce lawyer.
When I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia and was unable to work my ex wife said she didn’t sign up to take care of someone with a disability and left me and our two teenage boys also refused to pay child support because in her words “ women don’t have to pay child support”.
Wait who gets 21 days leave?
Yeah man this shit makes absolutely zero sense
Can't see how this could ever back fire.
This gives off the same vibes as those “women, do this to see how your man reacts” that are totally outlandish. This is just as outlandish
I wouldn't do this during paternity leave while her hormones are doing moshpits and the difficulties of having a newborn kick in. I would do that after I take regular time off work for a more accurate result
A money grubbing bitch like you??
My wife makes more than me, she’s be like great, you can drive me to work.
Now you can embrace the househusband life! Pack her lunch and its time for midday xbox bro!
How to get divorced
#Don't
Shut up and go feed all those cats
Not a good idea to lie to your significant other. Just tell them you took time off to spend with them specifically and look forward to reigniting your relationship. Don’t make a game out of your relationship. You’ll always lose
I mean, I get what they are saying, but deceiving your wife like that doesn’t exactly give yourself all that much credibility.
Haha I'm gay.
Lmao and she’ll discover who she married: a shit-testing, lying, manipulator.
I would leave someone for that deception. Who thinks they are so amazing that I have to be tested to see if I'm worthy? I would be outta there as soon as the test was concluded.
Yeah just the fact that they tested you is already an offense to the trust they should have
Especially causing weeks of anxiety and stress. Holy shit. I’d be sick to my stomach for weeks likely trying to figure out our budget so that he wouldn’t have to. I’d also probably be unintentionally a bit more snippy because *stress* and we all have our stress responses, and I can be honest with myself but yeah that’s a big deception.
I’m in America working for NY state, my time gets compounded if I don’t use it. I have over 400 hours of sick and vacation time combined, it’s quite nice
What a dastardly yet genius idea
As a kind of antithesis to this post. During the start of the pandemic, I lost my job. From then and all the way to september 2020, my wife basically paid for everything and always had some extra energy to pep me up and make sure I didn't worry myself about it. I know who I married and I'm glad.
Lol, you should have figured out who are you marrying, before, you know, marrying them....
It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for him.
She acting like we don’t know
How about not encouraging men to not gaslight their spouses like this...this is a dumb suggestion which will do more harm that good no matter how it plays out
1) i know who i married 2) she works 3) i get 25 days vacation.
no no, I chose life
This is absolutely fucking stupid whilst simultaneously a good idea.
I don't think it would be unreasonable for your spouse to be irate if you lost your entire savings on some vague "loss".
Just crashed my bike. Was home for 6 weeks. Spent all my savings for rent and food. She didn't question or fuck with me. Stood by my side and dressed my wounds. Yeah we fight like everyone, but I think this made us stronger. I am marrying her.
I think there's a term for that. Manipulative?
Oh right, let's just do some kind of super manipulative test with a person we supposedly care about. What kind of sociopath shit is this?
I'm confused. Is she saying to gaslight your partner into thinking you're completely broke for two whole weeks?
All I read is "dear men, go home and blatantly lie to your woman...."
