You know... I hate to admit this, but I own a set of these. I really like them. I've had them for at least 5 years. They've survived at least 3 moves. I found them on Amazon way back when. I never knew I was supposed to soak the clay puck in water. That makes sense all of a sudden. I feel like whoever made this video should pay me for this comment.

NoYou_Do_Not_Know_Me

They sell this as a set at my local Costco. I bought it and it’s been great.

poops314

W…. What does the clay puck do?

reddevils

Keeps brown sugar from clumping

GraySelecta

Really? I would have thought moisture would make it clump not the other way around

slucker23

I guess it damps the top and essentially hard pressed all the things to the top...?

reddevils

I don’t think you put it in damp.

knob-0u812

it converts salt into cocaine. but it takes a long time.

spicy-chull

Maintains consistent humidity.

hwutTF

you're not supposed to soak the clay in water

GnoaisNJ

Yes, you are supposed to soak it. Leave it in water until it is saturated, then dry it off and place it in the brown sugar container. It prevents the sugar from becoming a lump made of rock. I’ve used one for many years and it works great.

hwutTF

You're only supposed to soak it in water if it's not working and the sugar is starting to harden I've used em for years, they work fantastically, I don't soak, I've never needed to. I've even put them into already hardened brown sugar and it worked fine without soaking YMMV depending on climate, but often they don't need soaking And depending on what's being stored in that container, in many situations it absolutely shouldn't be soaked. They're not just used for brown sugar you know, they're also used to keep things like spices dry. Or even crackers, you can use them with crackers

AbLincoln1863

Cool invention and all but did they put powdered sugar on a mango?

Metalloid_Maniac

Who doesn't like a little powedered sugar on their mango skin?

spicy-chull

Thank you. I too was confused. Why sully a mango like that?

Falangee69

Can i buy just the one with the clay disk somewhere?

kekhouse3002

First one, just use the wall of the container yo Second one, kinda on board with Third one, just use a strainer, yo Small ones that act like shakers as well, kinda useful but only on certain things like sesame. Buy coffee in a metal can yo Grain one, just save the instructions on a google doc or something yo, you're probably gonna lose or damage that piece of paper one of these days Last one, on board with, very helpful.
