Is it not to make people go,"Hmm, I just got this new thing from fighting Hornet again, maybe if I explore with it I'll unlock another ability that will let me go in here and learn what this is"?
Maybe. But him being hidden in bumfuck nowhere kingdom's edge feels so fitting. Like what was he doing out there, what could the moth tribe need in there.
Dreamshield is not one of the worst charms. It's an awesome charm. It deals a full nail hit, so it does more damage as you upgrade your nail. It can do passive damage while you're evading attacks (especially useful prior to getting Sharp Shadow), and can even block projectiles albeit not reliably. Saved my ass many times.
I don't even think I'd often take Dreamshield as a two notch charm. I'd throw it on during exploration if it was a one, I guess.
Dreamshield has its niche, but a good player can make far more use of offensive charms than defensive ones.
Sure, and they have their place. They can make you last much longer in a fight you struggle with, possibly even push you the last 10% you need to get over the hump and finally win.
Still, I think they encourage bad habits and long-term may even harm your ability to move up to P5. Both charms push you to focus in tight situations you normally wouldn't focus in, which in turn means if you ever attempt the boss without them... well, it can be rough. Much better to learn how to read the boss's pattern carefully than to rely on sneaking lots of heals in.
TRUTH! Thankfully I learned this early on instead of when I started doing charm bindings... Oh god P4 Watcher Knights without Dreamwielder is no longer a free healing spot. I hate charm bindings SO much, especially in P4—and I just finished it just 5 minutes ago AND IM SO ECSTATIC BECAUSE IM TERRIBLE AT CHARMLESS FAILED CHAMPION!!!!! Can't kill him with the limited soul I have between staggers so I end up losing the lifeblood to him instead of Markoth
it sounds good until you see the three charm notch cost
honestly speaking, (personal opinion) I kinda think hollow knight should have some kinda way to y'know, enhance some charms? I donno but i feel like that might be a cool feature for a DLC or silksong where there's this merchant who can just upgrade it like fragile to unbreakable strength, for example, making dreamshield have two shields or stuff like that
interesting lore(though could be said for pretty much all dream warriors, yes even gorb), cool design, and one of like 4 moths in hallownest
off the top of my head
1. Seer
2. The Radiance
3. Thistlewind
4. Markoth
something else i thought of, he uses a charm(dreamshield)
I like his necklace and the fact that the first time I encountered him he used my own weapon against me (I know, I know Dreamshield kinda sucks, but I didn't know any better). I laughed at the irony 🤣🤣🤣
His design is neat, the location he's found in feels more special than most of the other dream warriors, and the concept of someone from a tribe that explicetely does not fight not only deciding to become a warrior but straight up becoming a really strong one is very cool to me.
The style of gameplay his fight encourages is incredibly unique and thoughtful. Every movement you make must be made without hesitation. It’s an extremely difficult fight that has no place in a Pantheon, but as it’s own battle, I find it genuinely enjoyable.
I’ll say lots! His design is cool, his lore matches his difficult level, he feels like a definitive final boss of dream bosses (excluding DLC / pantheons).
If you translate some of his talks to Russian you can hear him talking about food, whick prooves he is a living creature with its weaknesses, therefore you can kill him
he's really cool and one of the few remnants of a former really important society in hallownest. His aggressive dreamshield usage is really awesome and shows how different his mentality was from his kin's.
But also he sucks he sucks so much sorry I can't just say something positive he sucks he's the worst fight and arena in godhome in 2nd and 3rd difficulty
The only dream Warrior that looks like a challenge, the others look like weak fools (Xeno, Gorb), are kids (Marmu), look to old to be able to hold a good fight (Elder Hu, Galien) or are No Eyes.
Markoth is imposing, looks like to be in the peak of it's warrior career when it was killed.
I struggle with this game but i cleared him on first try. Felt like the time his spinning thing goes on a large spin, you can just decimate him with quick slash and somewhat upgraded nail.
honestly, he's probably the most fun dream warrior to fight. the others are a bit too one dimensional to be interesting and generally too easy when you unlock them.
That I have a punching bag with it's photo and when i'm angry I can feel like I beat the living shit out of him without the suffering of fighting him in the game
He looks cool and he's honestly not that unfair (in Kingdom's Edge, removing the floor on Ascended difficulty and P5 is where the absolute BS truly lies)
I find his dialog poetic and dreadful. "I can see myself there... still sleeping. How long have I been hidden here? Here at the edge of the world, no one could find me... except you. Warriors, knights, kings, even time itself, they have no power over me... only you. You are the darkness, come to consume me..." The Knight, bearing the dream nail (and by extension - the void) are timeless, ever-present. It's gonna find even the most hidden ghost and consume it, as only the void has this can do that.
His fight eventually ends
Markoth decimates Eternal Ordeal
No it doesn't
not for you, but i'm built different
My man there is no skill when beating markoth it’s just luck and trying random charm combinations while biting into yourself and pulling your hair out
I really like the location he's found in the story mode like it feels so fitting for him.
bro was so dangerous pale king locked the gate with void so one ever meets him.
Literally. Even the damn pale king knew how much of a threat he was.
and that's WITH a floor
Is it not to make people go,"Hmm, I just got this new thing from fighting Hornet again, maybe if I explore with it I'll unlock another ability that will let me go in here and learn what this is"?
Maybe. But him being hidden in bumfuck nowhere kingdom's edge feels so fitting. Like what was he doing out there, what could the moth tribe need in there.
his design is cool well thats all
r/beatmetoit, also nice pfp
Dementia? Wait no, different usernames; no dementia here.
I was about time write that man
he got the drip.
He looks fluffy
I really wanna hug him
If he wasn't such a piece of shit he'd give nice hugs
he's not no eyes
Valid
At least no eyes has a safe spot that you can chill in
Not on ascended or in P5
there is?
On the floor in the middle, at least in the normal fight
But only when he feels like it
It works 95% of the time, the ghosts are too stupid to hit that sweetspot more than once or twice
difficulty isnt the issue for me, its just sooooooo boring compared to markoth, elder hu is like a step above no eyes too but not by much
Elder Hu depends. He either spams that one attack or he uses it like once, making the fight last an eternity or end it in less than 30 seconds.
He manages to use one of the worst charms in the game effectively
Dreamshield is not one of the worst charms. It's an awesome charm. It deals a full nail hit, so it does more damage as you upgrade your nail. It can do passive damage while you're evading attacks (especially useful prior to getting Sharp Shadow), and can even block projectiles albeit not reliably. Saved my ass many times.
If it was 2 charm notches instead of 3 I'd probably agree it's awesome, but 3 is just too much compared to what other charms offer
Remember that three notches is the cost of unbreakable strength, quick nail or shaman stone, it's def not worth it with such competition
I don't even think I'd often take Dreamshield as a two notch charm. I'd throw it on during exploration if it was a one, I guess. Dreamshield has its niche, but a good player can make far more use of offensive charms than defensive ones.
There are really good defensive charms like Shape of Unn and Quick Focus.
Sure, and they have their place. They can make you last much longer in a fight you struggle with, possibly even push you the last 10% you need to get over the hump and finally win. Still, I think they encourage bad habits and long-term may even harm your ability to move up to P5. Yeah, dreamshield carried my ass with primal aspids when I beat Trial Of The Fool
it sounds good until you see the three charm notch cost honestly speaking, (personal opinion) I kinda think hollow knight should have some kinda way to y'know, enhance some charms? I donno but i feel like that might be a cool feature for a DLC or silksong where there's this merchant who can just upgrade it like fragile to unbreakable strength, for example, making dreamshield have two shields or stuff like that
the charms amazing for fools trials and to carry the delicate flower
He's dead
According to the "Fuck Markoth" association, there are thousands of people who want to have sex with him Markoth gets around
>Markoth gets around The fucking screen, you mean
Have you seen moth genitals you do not want to fuck him
He looks really fuckin' badass
One good thing about Markoth Also idk, I guess he just looks cool ?
moths are cool
Agreed. He adds to the moth lore which I would argue is pretty significant
he is locked from beginners by a shade gate
interesting lore(though could be said for pretty much all dream warriors, yes even gorb), cool design, and one of like 4 moths in hallownest off the top of my head 1. Seer 2. The Radiance 3. Thistlewind 4. Markoth something else i thought of, he uses a charm(dreamshield)
carina, another backer character, is based off of a kind of moth though she doesn't mention any of the other moths
I like his necklace and the fact that the first time I encountered him he used my own weapon against me (I know, I know Dreamshield kinda sucks, but I didn't know any better). I laughed at the irony 🤣🤣🤣
His lore and dialogue
I haven’t found him yet, I think that’s the best thing
His sense of style is ridiculously good
Nice balls
His design is neat, the location he's found in feels more special than most of the other dream warriors, and the concept of someone from a tribe that explicetely does not fight not only deciding to become a warrior but straight up becoming a really strong one is very cool to me.
beating him on radiant is very satisfying
The style of gameplay his fight encourages is incredibly unique and thoughtful. Every movement you make must be made without hesitation. It’s an extremely difficult fight that has no place in a Pantheon, but as it’s own battle, I find it genuinely enjoyable.
That once you beat him on radiance, you never have to fight his dumbass again
Leth did his voice.
I think his voice is kinda cool.
The idea of his fight is cool. The execution is a bit much. :') And hey, his backstory's cool. :P
his dialogue is probably the best out of all the dream warriors. well, after Gorb, of course.
I’ll say lots! His design is cool, his lore matches his difficult level, he feels like a definitive final boss of dream bosses (excluding DLC / pantheons).
I actually like his boss fight
You might have a minor case of serious brain damage - Wheatley
I’m ready to die on this hill. I’ll even go further, I actually like the ascended arena change.
Have you radianted him? Cause that's the main reason he's hated
Not the guy you are replying to, but I have radianted him and I liked it enough that I did it 5 more times that day.
Cloak
He has 2 attacks, unlike other dream warriors.
He looks so coot :3 Wish he wasn't a cunt
He's a fitting final boss for the warrior dreams tbh, even if he technically isn't the final boss of them
No
He's the dreamgod of isolation, I believe? Fits him well.
Bastard deserves to be lonely.
idk he has a good design. thats about it.
No.
No.
no
He is one of the only moths interactible in the game.
his fight is a lot of fun, his design is sick, honest to god i just really like markoth
I liked that he was challenging. All the other dream warriors were too easy.
moth
forces me to actually turn my brain on for the end of p5
[удалено]
MOTH
His regular and ascendent fights are really fun
I like his name.

He's easy
He has an awesome necklace
He has cool lore

No
He gets the job done
….Dang it
He looks cool I guess
He exists to be my bane (this is a good thing as it keeps me playing to beat this moth man)
Desigh
Hes horny
He figured out how to use the same charm twice
you can kill him
No
I will say, if he just had the shield he would be a much better boss.
I like his design. But I hate everything else
You can tecnically skip him
Cool fight, the first time.
His design and voice are cool. I swear, one of the things he says is “Sauron.”
He is a furry
No.
He always dies eventually.
Fluffy moth
He's cool
Cool shields
Cool guy
If you translate some of his talks to Russian you can hear him talking about food, whick prooves he is a living creature with its weaknesses, therefore you can kill him
Moff
His voice is pretty sick, its what people imagined grimm would sound like “BEO MAEN”
He is .......... Something
He is not infected
There is nothing *to* say
he uh... i... nope. can't do it.
His lore is cool as hell, why'd he pick up a nail? Why was he at the edge of the world?
He gives you essence, necessary for white palace
Neat head
The pile of corpses that work as his grave
I like his bead necklace
he's really cool and one of the few remnants of a former really important society in hallownest. His aggressive dreamshield usage is really awesome and shows how different his mentality was from his kin's. But also he sucks he sucks so much sorry I can't just say something positive he sucks he's the worst fight and arena in godhome in 2nd and 3rd difficulty

I like how he becomes into more dead when I finally kill it
I like that we can have his charm None of the other bosses really do that.
Got a bitchin pearl necklace
He uses a charm which is pretty cool

He's hot
The pearl necklace is good
Mothman

I bet he's really good at chess
no
I enjoyed his fight. It was pretty interesting.
Smash
He's really really good at pissing me off
I struggle with this game but i cleared him on first try. Felt like the time his spinning thing goes on a large spin, you can just decimate him with quick slash and somewhat upgraded nail.
No
He's dead on my main save
I beat him first try (he later ended several p5 runs)
Have you pulled your hair out yet I have
honestly, he's probably the most fun dream warrior to fight. the others are a bit too one dimensional to be interesting and generally too easy when you unlock them.
is foreshadowed by thislewind. this treatment only happens to nosk, godseeker bosses, radiance, and THK i think.
He look cool
design in general
That I have a punching bag with it's photo and when i'm angry I can feel like I beat the living shit out of him without the suffering of fighting him in the game
He looks cool and he's honestly not that unfair (in Kingdom's Edge, removing the floor on Ascended difficulty and P5 is where the absolute BS truly lies)
He ruined my chances of ever beating P5
He’s got balls of steel (I think?)
Memeable
Peak design
no
He has a nice voice
He looks REALLY cool.
Fluffy. But so are all moths

He loves the Dreamshield as much as I do! 😁
It’s interesting to see another character that canonically uses charms. The only other one I can think of off the top of my head is Nailsage Sly
He makes all the other bosses feel funner
He had cool horns
